Hey ppl, just so you know, i have used search and didnt come up with anything.
Can I get some feedback from the Warlocks out there (or any Summoner i suppose) about how you play your classes, since C5 has rolled around, theres alot of contradicting opinions in-game, advising me on using Robes/Light Armour, or a Mage Weapon/Melee Weapon. Id like to know whats been found to be more effective in both Solo PvE & Group PvE.
I just dont know what to do with a Summoner, its the first class ive played where i didnt know what setup to take. Will my Storm/Binding Cubic make any difference?
Also, whats special about the Warlocks Servitors? Are they better at being a DD/Tank/Mage (i dont know! lol) then other Servitors? Is Kai a nice Servitor to choose? What exact buffs does Queen give? As you can see im curious =)
My Wiz is in my clans Academy, so im not short of people to party with, and a close friend has an equal level Elven Wizard whos going to become an ES, so we will be grouped alot past 40.
Hmmm.... I always used Light Armor and OE'd duals. I tanked for the summon and CLD'd the HP back. Works wonders, really.
The Storm Cubic is generally only useful when partying in high HP areas. The Binding Cubic is also generally only useful in those situations, but if you happen to get into PvP, Binding Cubic proves invaluable. Nothing like getting owned by a "gimp summoner".
One of my really good friends in-game is a archlord hero. (WRL= warlock)
The set up I saw her in was: DC robes, +4 sls duals, and she uses Kia for PvE. with full 60+ PP buffs.
Queen is a party summon, that adds to crt rate, about 59 more crt I beleave.
Kai uses 10% XP, and queen is 5%, kat the cat is 30%, and mew is 90%.
Generally you want to solo.
She used the wind strike cubic, and in PvP uses the Binding...in olympiad she really hard to beat cause binding cubic paras the enemy. she beats on mobs only to make the cubic triger.
I partied with her some, really good long lasting XP...only proplem is the cost of SS for the summon is high.
But Kai fully buffed with a PP is a beast and a force to be reaconed with!!
I've been think about possibly making one. my friend really intreges me.
For C Grade
Mage weapon with acumen and robes. If you want to nuke a lot then go with demon robes. If you are going to let your cat do most of the damage then go with Divine or Karmian.
If you prefer a melee weapon then Dark Screamer with Focus.
Since pet SS became available in C4 I have used robes + mage weapon with acumen. Sometimes I use a Kris with Focus but that is very rare. The cast speed is far too useful to give up.
Kat has high HP, good patk and recharges your MP. Kat consumes 30% of your xp and costs D crystals.
Mew has high HP, good patk and a wind based nuke. Mew consums 90% of your xp and costs 1 D crystal. Mostly a pvp summon.
Kai has lower HP then Kat but Higher Patk then Kat. Kai has a reflect damage shield but it isn't too useful. Kai consumes 10% of yoru xp and costs C Crystals.
Queen has the lowest hp, lowest patk but can buff and cure your party. Buffs are Increase Crit chance and power or Increase Patk and Acuracy. The only debuff I have seen queen cure is Windshackle. Queen consumes 5% of your xp and C crystals.
I never use cubics on normal (1x) hp mobs. No reason to because they die so fast. When hunting high (2x or higher) hp mobs I use binding cubic.
I use Mass Storm Cubic on raids and sieges.
I rarely use Storm cubic.
When I solo I use Kai. If I am hunting hard hitting mobs, especially the ones that use soul shots then I have to summon Kat to recharge me.
When I'm in a group I use the Queen. If the group is small and the income is worth while I will use Kai if more DD is needed, however, this is rarely cost effective.
I use Kai or Mew in PVP. Queen doesn't have the HP or Patk to survive in pvp unless you hide and avoid getting into the fight and to me, that isn't any fun.
How would Kai do in PvE / PvP with 52+ Prophet Buffs. Ive heard that the Servitor is the Summoners main weapon, but it seems a Servitors stats arent nearly as equal to a players stats.
I haven't actually looked at their HP since the PTS (I don't usually have the summon wi ndow open), but shouldn't Queen have the highest HP out of all four?
Or is that just the nightshade because of its heal?
ETA: It's just the nightshade - who knew! It has nearly double queenie's HP. o.O
The nightshade has a sacrifice skill similar to that of paladins, and fairly powerful hate. Unbuffed HP at level 75 is ~8.5k, so it has a pretty big pool to heal from when buffed. Unbuffed MAtk at 9xx is also higher than for a paladin, so maybe it's a bit more powerful than sacrifice (not sure about sacrifice power :p ) ... and yeah, in the MAtk range to which paladins can get, according to healer type paladins, it still matters.
The NS heal reuse delay is pretty fast - 3 seconds unbuffed, same as GBH - but the power is only about 2/3rds of maj heal. Of course, NS also can't grab an acumen weapon & DC robes to make the healing go faster, and it's a bit bounded by how fast the summoner can heal the HP back up.
For continuous PvE, of course it never runs out of MP - that's pretty nifty. But it sure doesn't have higher HPS than GBH (or an EE spamming MH), nor the PDef to keep standing when it's aggroed and trying to heal at the same time (unless you UD).
For emergencies in PvE it's good because, as explained, it can't run OOM really - so if things get tough you hit unsummon and pop a new one, and you have another 8k or so HP to go around for the whole party.
ETA: Just for small group PvE I think a nightshade would be a good healer... but it can't res you when things go to [censored] ... oh, and it doesn't have acumen2/zerk1. <goes off to gaga land and tries to get bishops to buff her again> :p I'd rather have a bishop and sit every once in a while.
Well, it does never run OOM, and it can consistantly chuck out battle-heal-speed (although not quite, due to servitor cast speed) heals. Two of them are the best raid healing I could imagine (except for the first moments, which are a tremble with PSs as healers).
But, they're rough around the edges as healers.
Good for raids where endurance is a matter, good for rift. Good for small parties. Not an actual replacement for bishops.
With a buffer nightshade can outheal an SE easily and is about on par with a bishop if you only consider healing. Each heal puts down about 1200 hp. And uses about the same, luckily that's roughly what my heal gives so the net effect if you use your mp to heal by proxy. Cheaper on mp but we're worse on regen. I use it mainly for AOE and we only need 2 healers to pull white mobs, preferably an EE due to recall or a bishop due to prayer and BOA.
If you are using nightshade obviously robes such as DC or avadon would be preferable but if you have the same buffs you will heal nightshade at almost the same speed he heals so you donj't have much issue with bottlenecking unless he has better buffs than you. As said OOM isnt' an issue since he doens't use MP but OOH is an issue if you aren't able to keep up and if anything it's a more serious issue because he's now fragile.
In small groups an SE/ nightshade make for a good healer buffer combo and i've also worked with a WC. It's an excellent healer for almost any kind of PVE and in PVP he provides an excellent healer as long as you know how to use him. I know most of my clannies prefer me to a bishop of equal level due to the extra utility he provides in emergencies but the lack of Rez capabilities does make it necessary to bring scrolls or have some other means to rez when things get impossible.
Infact most of the heros I do talk to any more are only delox which my SE is in his clan, and emina who is a really good friend that I talk to often. So what if I'm friends with HEROS or not...they change all the time with the exception of a few.
I was in a party with her and I know what she was using, I was just stating that so they had a idea.
WRL is a very nice class, it if was cheeper and lvled faster I'd play one.
question I have ellie, do you have a issue with me making friends with people cause I'm fairly new to the server? (only been playing it for about 6 mouths now)
nightshades usefullness goes beyond PVE, i use him during pvp regularly. when the enemy prefears to attack me directly i have a near infinite supplie of powerful heals. when combined with spark cubic i can take out ppl purely by surviving longer then they can.
Well, the fourth servitor usefulness in PvP is undisputed - and PSses for a change got the long end of the sitck, in so far that their fourth servitor actually still matches their skill set (sorta).
Male human mystics look bad in many things - but so do dark elves, and when they look bad, they look really bad - Karmian, Draconic, Divine (human mystics look horrible in this too - but not that horrible), Blue Wolf Robes.
Of course, there's always the dreaded blue wolf light - but meh, it's not all that grand anyway.
