I don't know how many of you enjoy a pro-wrestling show every now and then, but I figure since this is the Off-Topic forum . . . :p
Anyone else lose just a bit of respect for TNA for hiring Kurt Angle? There are shades of the old rivalry between WWF and WCW in that recently WWE and TNA have been playing "you take our guy, we'll take yours." Christian goes to TNA, Sabu and Jeff Hardy go to WWE, and now Kurt is apparently heading to TNA (this was officially announced during the current TNA Impact show). I'm not sure what is truth or not when it comes to pro-wrestling politics (WAY too many people claiming inside knowledge and most way off the mark), but wasn't Kurt Angle released from his WWE contract so he could finally take time off and heal?
I think Kurt has been an incredible performer and the TNA fans who haven't seen him in action will appreciate his talent, but I suspect TNA sees him more as a commodity than a wrestler (more so than WWE). Kurt seems to be the kind of guy who will work until he is paralyzed and TNA will let him just as long as they can hold him over WWE's head and use his name to boost business. I have never met Kurt and don't know him from his in-ring persona, yet I hope for his sake that I am wrong and TNA won't run him into the ground. If this WWE vs TNA thing reaches the heights of the rivalry between WWF and WCW, there will be career casualties.
