Speed of Change

I have noticed quite a bit more interaction between the staff here at NC Austin and its paying customers. I would like to commend NC on doing this. Transparency between the company and its loyal customers is a great first step in building a long-term mutually beneficial relationship.

I would like to touch on something I believe could further strengthen the relationship with NC's customers. And yes it does sound like beating a dead horse. This is the speed of which NA Devs can get obviously needed changes to Korea and have them implemented back here in the States.

I will use the heroic "fear" or dread skill as a prime example. On Sieghardt we have three primary alliances with relatively large numbers in each vying for supremacy of the server. However, with twenty-one heroes residing in one alliance, it makes the acme of this game, siegeing, almost anti-climactic. Do you understand how frustrating it is to see 80 people running away from their opposition before they can even engage? This is a prime example of a miscalculation by the Korean Devs.

Case studies and anecdotes should be given to Korea from America, with the idea that we can have the Korean Devs do some research and have a fix in 4-6 weeks. This is how a game should operate imo. You fix the obvious flaws and balance the game on the run, while you wait for content changes/additions.

NC has made some great strides in the past few weeks in reaching out to their customers. Now some cooperation between NA and Korea would be the next big step.

I think it's about the same, i haven't really noticed any difference. :)

We don't have a NA Dev team....
Devs ===> Semantics. Lets just call them the higher-ups for the purpose of this thread.
because of the global scope of the game and the fact that the Dev (NCKorea) team has already expressed that they do not wish the Korean L2 to be any different from the NA & Euro L2, a development cycle for fixes we would like of 4 to 6 weeks is unfeasible. They would first have to make sure these fixes are something the Korean and Japanese communities would want, then test and implement in Korea, then test and implement in NA and elsewhere. While our ideas may be communicated expediedntly to Korea if they Korean market doesn't like them then they don't get implemented.
I have always felt the only way for the speed of change is to work together. And what i mean by that is the playerbase of all territories need to work together for a common goal.

We lack the capability of the NA players to talk and debate issues with our fellow KR players. Only when both sides as players can come together will we see change.

Both sides play this game differently, but we just have some common ground.
:) ok recruiting Korean descendants/readers to open forum accounts on Lineage 2 Korea's website :D

I totally agree splatter unfortunately korean is hard language to learn :(.
You do realize the "DEV" team for this game consists of 4 people don't you?

All changes are made specificly for Korean PvE... NA PvP is of secondary concern.. and I use the word concern very lightly

Please, just because one alliance on one server in just one market has 21 hero's does not make the skill bad. Really people stop crying about this. All you have todo is win and take more hero's away from said alliance.

Changes can't be made on a dime here, you have to make sure it works for every market that lineage 2 has, so asking for a change does not mean you will get it right away, if at all.

Take care

Disclaimer: I am in said alliance on sieghardt :P

I disagree, its one of the easier language's to learn!

If you want to learn Korean, try out the "teach yourself Korean" Book ISBN 0071420142 buy the CD/Book combo. Also try out LINKY (http://www.learn-korean.net/)

This is the current process, and something that should be amended to appease the NA audience.

Actually, all changes are made based on collaboration and discussion of the needs of all of the territories, including Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan and NA/Europe, as well as Korea.

No idea where you're getting 4 people from.
the picture on the page with the first Q&A :D

And thats why as Players of lineage we need to be more open and be able to discuss with the other territory players of changes.

Haha, I missed that. Trust me, the team in Seoul is much bigger.
I think we need a group hug picture.

Does the process involve NCNA signing off on these changes? These Olympiad style changes are completely ruining the American product. Hero fear for example cannot even be used in the Olympiad, its something that frankly probably doesn't affect Korean gameplay 1/10th of what it does American gameplay. It should be drastically reduced in its power. Just one of the co-op things I would like to see more out of NCNA.
I see only one solution: an intense marketing campaign. Consider one of the most significant differences between the NA Lineage II community and the Korean Lineage II community: size. The Korean market has enough L2 players that L2 characters were used in Coca-Cola ads. Perhaps if the L2 NA/ Euro had those numbers, balancing issues would lessen. :D
