The question is: is Vicious Stance skill worth the SP points (for archers)?
Do you ever use it, and how, provided that it consumes tons of MP and you can never predict when you are going to actually critic?
When i was a Rouge i used it with dagger, cause Might Mortal "is" a critical hit, so you can be sure to add damage if you activate VS too.
But what about HE?
Pls let me know if i just have to save my points for other skills.
thz a lot
Archers crit a fair amount in end game, bt I believe they don't usually use vicious stance, since it doesn't have a very noticable effect with high PAtk - and high PAtk is, after all, what archers are good at.
Yeah i had the same impression of pure MP waste, and besides VS costs LOTS of SP, so in the end maybe i am not gonna upgrade this skill anymore.
Anyway, from the moment that in C5 in Double Shot skill has been added also a possibility of critcal hit, it would be nice if VS worked with it.
Instead, it does not, because even when one lands a critical hit while using double shot, this is not actually recognized by the system as a critic, so VS does not enhance the damage.
it adds a certain amount of dmg i believe. say you hit for 10 and crit for 20. VS adds 16 damage per hit. would still add 16 dmg per hit if you did 200 dmg. its a fixed number and not %ge based, i remember a post where is was tested
double shot doesn't "crit". a double shot crit is just 2x damage.
Sorry but i must disagree on this point: that was true till C4, but after last C5 release, double shot does not only make double damage as before, but sometimes it makes 4x damage, like a critical hit.
I think everyone who is playing an archer has noticed this.
Only, you don't receive "critical hit!" message.
Instead if every time that you make 4x damage while using double shot it was considered a critical hit, VS could work on this respect, so at least one could activate VS skill every time one uses double shot, hoping it will critic.
well I never use double shot, I haven't even trained it. stupid skill, and having to use spirit of sag to make it even worth the mp is a waste of a buffslot.
In C5, if double shot critics, you one shoot mobs.
I imagine that this is pretty true also in pvp situations, even if i never tried it.
So i really should not define this skill useless, and besides, as i said before, if one had the possibolity to add extra damage chance by using VS, it would be probably the wining chance you have in a pvp situation.
Not bad ^^
I rarely level fully buffed. Hell, I rarely level with /any/ buffs but my own. I even did most of my 40's with no shots. I know what it's like to maximize cost/damage. I also know what it's like to not have a buff box.

Like most players Gildran, but of course some can't stop bragging about it.
I'm not very proud or anything of leveling without buffs. I'd love it if I could. But I don't have the funds to support a boxed buffer, and I don't know many live buffers, so merr.
More people then you think still hunt unbuffed ;) And believe me they know how to handle that situation and in such situations Double shot will indeed be a useful skill.

;) Orvieta wasn't refering to your statement of unbuffed when she said bragging...But rather to the boxing for buffs ;) There are more then enough all typed buffers/healers LIVE out there that are eager to find a duo or a group to be of use.
I personally either hunt with a Live healer/buffer in duo or else solo unbuffed. So I admire players who take sufficien with their own buffs and dare to solo half buffed or none ;)
sorry, i had not seen there was already a similar thread, otherwise i would not have opened a new one, anyway i am glad that someone alse has pointed out the same problem for us archers.
Its a pure mana drain. It has no 100% benifit at all. If you crit 10% of the time, 90% of the time you are munching mana. Dont bother, unless they make it a buff not a toggle.
