In high-D-grade, it's something between 1:10 and 1:50 per mob and try. Depends on the mob. Turek Orcs (2xHP), for example, are nice spoil material and the Orc Barracks are a good place to solo, too.
You can still use spoil in high levels, as a sort of "hate"-skill when you duo with somebody (start with spoil, and you will keep aggro for a little while). And of course it still lands every now and then - one of the warsmiths in my clan spoiled SoM edges and A grade recipes :)
My WS hasn't spoiled anything for a long time while leveling. I certainly gave up in the 30's when they just didn't work often enough to matter.
The WS needs the MP during battles while leveling for whatever speccial you use. Can't generally afford to try spoil at the beginning of 100 mobs when you're level 40 and solo just to receive one or two iron ore.
Maybe grouped it's worth trying, idk.

A WS needs to MP to use specials for lvling...
...you are joking right? The time you invest in the skill could just be used for a hit more with the same result.
The spoils are rare but hey I spoiled an Avadon Circlet 100% recipe with my WS when he was lvl 50. It's not impossible and if you are working with the golem you may as well spoil instead of using hammer crush.
spoil success rate at 70+ is 1 in 20, keep in mind that doesnt guarantee the mob will turn blue and give you something it just means spoil will land
at lvl 75 i made over 12 million adena in 1 day by spoiling majestic jewlery recs which quite frankly is more money than i could have made from crafting while gaining zero xp
i gave up spoiling at around lvl 40ish when spoil seemed to be around 1 in 200, not sure if they raised it or if its more usefull at higher lvls but i redisovered spoil in blazing swamp while spoil agroing mobs for aoe
the trick to successfully useing spoil as a crafter is to only go after mobs which spoil very expensive items at a fairly reliable rate (majestic jewle recs at fod is a good example)
due to the freaky nature of lineage's random number generator spoil seems to be more effective the more times you use it per mob
if you only spoil a mob once expect to get about a 1 in 100 success rate. at 3 spoils per mob it should be about 1 in 20
No Splatter is well known for taking his time. playing the game for all it's aspects and enjoying them not just whacking hell out of every mob he comes across.
But how often is your spoils landing? Are you seeing a spoil rate of 1/100?
I have both. I noticed that when my Arti hit lvl 25 the spoil rate dropped drastically. He could still spoil but rarely. I now just use him for crafting and I began a Scavi for spoiling instead, she's lvl 21 and mostly 1 for 1 for a long period and then 1 in 2.
