I started a DE fighter with the intention of levelling up to a PR.
I thought I'd level quite fast with a bow but it was actually a chore to get upto lvl 20
Once I completed my class change to assassin, I bought a bow but remembered someone told me that daggers level faster
So I sold my bow (which ate through DSS like no tomorrow) and got a mithril dagger instead.
now I'm tearing through the levels and I love the atk speed and crit rate I get.
Now I don't know whether to go PR at lvl 40 like I intended or if I should stick with daggers and go AW instead
hmm, you know it s pointless to play an archer/dagger without a prophet?
Dagger is less pointless in that matter. Both will use a lot of ss but daggers even more. Dagger is very good at pvp in c5 and does nt need as mych support as archer. I'd think about aw...

For bow user a prophet is an awesome help, for my dagger I tag along a lvl 60 SE for buffs and some Swift atk pots. VR3 + pots = super fast levelling.
Personally I prefer AW over PR but it depends what you want your end game to be.
the thing is a dagger will lvl 10X faster then a bow till 52...then bow steps up and really shines!
bow useage and MP cost on bows suck big time till you can get your self into a BoP.
Emi = 10 SS, mesuiery SA makes it possibly 9.
light X bow = 10 SS no mattter what.. and like 9 mp.
but with a dagger till 52 you can carry a hell of alot more SS, and not have to worry about arrows.
the bigest thing is base stats and gear. passives is whats makes you the king.
and basicly I think that PR is the most lacking of the archers!
if you look at the base stats for all 3 archers you'd see 3 things:
SR 1 crt passive.
PR 1 crt dmg passive.
HE 1 crt passive, 2 crt dmg passives. (which is why HE > SR/PR)
Then look at active skills:
Rapid shot (for SR) increases atk speed and crt rate, but lowers range to 600.
PR: new skill they get at 60, same lvl for Fatal counter, increases crt dmg and atk power, but lowers atk speed. which makes them the slowest archer of the 3.
HE: gets snipe increased range (1200), acc, P df, crt rate, but makes it so you can't move. 4 other new skills.
but AW only gets crt dmg passives and magic skills, nice thing they get is hex:lowers some P df.
I'd personally take AW over PR....PR don't even get burst shot.
and with their low con makes them easy to get stuned...which is bad in PvP, and PvE.
before C5 i would say that it would be useless to prefer a melee class over a ranged class.
but C5 changed all that by giving huge power to dagger classes (one of greater changes, along with nerf of sleep on mages). still if u learn to use kiting correctly, its kind of harder a melee class to reach u, even for 1 shot that can be lethal. im personaly a fanatic of HawkEye and never think of changing it for any other class.
just a personal oppinion and nothing more. its ALL up to what u like and what u re more comfort in playing.
Thanks for the advice.
Based on what's I've seen posted, I think I'll go with AW. I can still use a bow pretty well after I go AW since I get bow materies and useful skills up until lvl 40.
At the moment my Assassin has Salamander armour, mithril dagger and a +Wit / -Con tattoo.
I think this is the best set up for D grade, but what about C?
I'm thinking Theca for the armour but what dagger and tats?
plated leather armor but kind of expensive for C. and about tats, i d prefer +dex/-con in a dagger class.
and of course, besides the lvl and grade, all daggers that can have focus as SA. e.g kriss and bl. orchid. they might not be the uber in their grade but they do more damage in general.
Not all daggers choose focus. It depends on how you build, what you want to maximize.
I know a B grade TH who uses a mid C dagger because of the non-focus SA which better compliments their tats and gear. A very successful, TH I may add.
So the point is that you do not need to follow the herd and do what everyone seems to think is 'best'. If you think differently, you may come up with a solution which can routinely beat the accepted 'best' build.
dont make an PR. I have one in lvl 64 and and here to play for 2 months. The Main prob on here was the lower attack speed and the low con. You can do what u want u will often lose pvp with an PR. If you are unbuffed its an horror to play here.
If you realy want have fun in this game, play an TH or an AW as dagger, and you will see it makes a lot of fun^^
An AW shines early, and a PR shines late...
6x the AW will be better...
7x the PR is better...
7k crits 50% of the time from 900 range (buffed vs robes or light)
All from a double-click...
Daggers die to tanks... archers are nearly invincible to any class when buffed. The only class that can kill a well-played archer is a WC or OL with sleeplock.

thanks for providing ridiculously false information~~

but play what you like!!
HE doesnt have 2 crit dmg passives, only one. Furthermore i tested it myself with a lvl 76 + HE friend. PR is by far the archer with the most critical damage, especially in c5 with the Dead eye skill, even if HE has snipe active.i have screenshots of my pr hitting imperial tomb mobs for 14600 dmg with a crit rate over 400. the HE had a bow with more patk (very high enchanted soulbow) but he was still doing much less dmg even with snipe mode.
crit dmg wise PR is the best archer and generally best DD in this game, criticaly dmg wise.but its balanced because PR has also weak sides like all other classes.
HE and PR get 2 crit dmg passives... but why even BOTHER mentioning them.. they count for jack [censored]. The only passive that matter is Critical chance, end of story.
A fully buffed archer of any class will 1-2-3 shot most other DD's, a dagger won't need many buffs to kill other classes fast, but at close range. Range still > all.
That said, both are great classes, don't look down on the PR, they're badass. Also don't hype the HE too much, their advantage is higher base stats and Hawkeye, but slow as crap.
