Please help me decide between these two classes. I know ill enjoy playing both of them. I really like the "look" of gladiators more, and are a pain in the *** to lvl to 40. Is it worth the grinding? AW now lvl 24 seems fun, lotsa abil to use while griding. Im sure ill enjoy both of these classes lvl 40+. But wich class is better? wich is more overpowered, better for pvp and pve generaly? any pros and cons? Comon you lineage 2 gurus, plz help me decide!
If you're looking for an overpowered class, then look elsewhere than the human warrior classes. These are some of the most balanced classes in the game.
If you play a glad, you gotta really love the class. Nothing comes easy for a glad, including kills/pvp score. NCsoft has handed life on a platter to other classes, even daggers.
A lot of ppl say glads are gimp actually, I think they just dont know the class. But b4 my glad i also played an assassin to lvl 24, got bored and rerolled glad. . .twice.
Can't speak for the AW's out there but i sure do love gladiator, anyone that's still playing their glad should be saying the same thing. Its a fun class, its complicated, and its challenging.
Gladiators are just awesome..but then again im biased :P But like harry says "Nothing comes easy for a glad" is very true. They shine reallll well at 78. >.>
well if glad really shines at 60, and nothing is easy, it definetly sounds like a class ill make later when aquire more goods =p
I am hopeing going 40+ with AW will be fun, hopefully i wont get bored.. Been also thinkin about monk, and Warlord human or Orc. But for now AW seems cool.. dun really know how they play in the higher lvls though =(
I don't know about th AW, but I do play a Glad in lvl60.
I really love playing with it, it has some very nice skills including ranged attack and AoE that hurts just as hard as a Spellhowlers Hurricane/Tempest in same level. The good part is that the Glad uses Focus Sonic to fire off these nukes/AoE so mobs has no real defence (like Strong M.defence or resist wind/fire etc.) to reduce the damage. These nukes hits harder depending on how much P.atk. the Glad has and not how much M.Atk. he has. So when ever the Glads pick up a Herb of strength, these nukes gets a good boost. Also these nukes do crit quite often, so one nuke can actually take out a whole 1/2 HP mob group (or 4 groups) or a 1 HP mob in one shot.
The Glad, also has the TSS (Triple Sonic Slash) attack, which cost a lot of mana, but hurts like hell. Also this skill has a really good advantage, because they compleatly by-pass skills like "ultimate evation". So when I hunt eg. Blade mobs in Valley of Saints, and I keep missing them (sometimes 10-12 times in a row, due to the mobs ultimate-evation skill) I can fire off a TSS followed by a TS (Triple Slash) and kill the mob.
Sadly a glad really needs his skills to "shine" so soloing, unbuffed is really hard. To make him "shine" you need a good buffer and recharger.
The bad thing for a Glad, is that they are hard to play in PvP, they cant sleep, root, slow, etc. so all they can do is try killing the enemy on a distance using the Sonic Blaster skill.
IF the Gladiator is lucky enough to come up-close and personally with the other char, then he can deal a lot of damage in no time.
Some of the Abyss Walkers that are still left are old chars that were not given up.
I play my char as party support char. It's good to play if you get buffs and are healed. I don't like soloing because CON is very bad, even without -CON dyes. Unbuffed I need to rest after three to five mobs (level 49 or so), but maybe some players have much better equip or even their own buffer.

LOl?
First of all a well played pve glad will not use any skills but for the weakness ones and some sonic blasters at times and thats it. Focus duals will do the job for xp. Parties or duos with bds and outside pp are the best ways to xp.
As for pvp a gladiator is not that usefull in field pvp since he will be kited by most classes and sb is just not enough to get down a cp pot spamming target. So a glad can beet daggers 1vs1 and some other mellee but thats all. No real use in mass pvp where archers nukers will destroy him.
Aw on the other side is pretty good at 2shotting mages or even archers so quite usefull in mass pvp with hex and devastating blows. Nevertheless he is a stun magnet so majestic is the only choice. I would also like to mention that a glad reaches his full potential at 66+lvl so he best choice for you would be aw.
yep, you have to play the glad for a while to see a return. In pve I dont use my skills at all but always keep the charges at 7 just in case. Mass pvp glads will be suport class assisting with blaster and sonic storm, but if a target gets close enough thats where the glad comes in. Since skills can now crit one shotting light targets could be possible unless they have BTB.
I agree, in PvE 1vs1 on normal mobs, I normally only use TS to finish off the mob and get the extre XP from over-hit.
If the Gladiator has VR3 or better, he can go nonestop, without using any skills(other then TS).
A good example is when you level soul crystals in GC the glad can go nonestop on 1-2 mobs at the same time, but 3 mobs will lower his HP after some time. Then just do some 1vs1 on a few mobs and the VR3+ will recharge your HP.
But if you find the right place, with the right mobs and party, then using Sonic Storm and Sonic Blaster can be a really good way to level.
The Gladiator has a lot of MP-expensive skills, so when soloing, he will run out of MP very quick, if he spams his skills.
i just got done duoing with my glad friend..I was watching him spam Sonic Rage..that thing is very effective to pve with. Takes only 5mp and 50hp and does 5-600 damage, crits for 1100-1300. HP gets too low whacks a mob a few times and its full again with VR...back to spamming again...**** Im so far away :(
