hi guys!
Does anyone know the chances of +++ Ecnhant? I mean, l2.wh.com says that +3->+4 is 70%, +4->+5 is 49%, but what does it actually mean?

A friend of mine told me an interesting thing. He says that the weapon enchant has 70% of success All the Time! Even if i do from +10 to +11... Is that true?
Does it mean that if I have +4 Weapon, I need 49% of luck to make it +5 ?
Or does it mean, that if I have +0 Weapon, I need 49% of luck to make it +5 ?

Up to +3 you run no risk of breaking it. After that, for each extra +1, you have 70% of succeeding - so 70% to go +4, 70% of 70% = 49% chance to go +3 to +5, and 0.97% to go all the way to +16 in one go.
All I know is that a crap load of weapons that are+ 3 go BOOM when you click the little scroll and then the weapon icon.
It would be a mistake to believe that somehow "+4 is PRETTY safe--it's only at +9 that I have to worry".

Unless you have miraculous sources of adena don't OE anything you can't afford to lose. The value of those crystals are a pitiful fraction of the value of the weapon that blows up.

Here's a guide for you:
1) you eagerly anticipate how cool you're going to be with a bright blue weapon at +8 or 9.
2) you have a (SoL/ELS/SLS/uber dual set) top-in-grade weapon.
3) your current weapon already glows a little at +4 or so.
4) it takes a SIGNIFICANT part of you adena to buy a 4 more enchant weapon scrolls.
5) it's time for you take the plunge and OE that weapon, baby!

I practically guarantee your weapon will blow up with the next click. Don't ask me how this works--but I've become convinced that weapon OE success is inversely proportional to how desperately you think you need the OE to succeed (lmao).

Careful with OE's. One success can lead you down a road of real frustration! Cause you got a brig tunic to plus 6 doesnt mean your main's damascus sword will automatically go to plus 4! That's EXACTLY the time the dama will go boom.
I always thoght it was a 60% chance.
Each time you do it you have a 60% chance of ir suceeding. Thats why there are so few red weapons, because statistically, your odds of getting each of those enchants right all the way through to 16 is a little rare.
And certain weapons enchant easier than others. Anyone actually try overenchaint a straight hom sword? Actually almsot any mage sword seems to have less of a chance than any other sword in the game.

That would mean that you have a -20% chance to go from +6 to +7.
What he probably meant that going from +3 to +4 is a 70% chance, and going from +3 to +5 (note the 2 consecutive enchants) is a 70% of 70% chance; 49%.
While the chance does decrease 30% each time in a way, it's a bit misleading to say it like that.

For some depressing news, bring up your calculator and input 100, then multiply by 0,7. Keep multiplaying for every overenchant you want to do. Most calculators let's you just click the = symbol to repeat the last operation.
To get a weapon to +16 needs 13 overenchants, that's - like someone mentioned above - less than 1% chance.

Edit: I guess I should mention that it's uncomfirmed what the exact rates are. I've just always used 70%, but I suppose 66% (2/3) would be a better guess.

Edit2: It would also be safe to assume that armor and jewelry OE rates are much lower. I've gotten quite a few d-grade weapons to +7, but I've never ever gotten an armor piece to +6. I've only gotten 1 of about every 4-5'th try to +5.
Wow if it's 70% to +4 then I have horrible luck. Everything I have ever tried OE'ing has blown at 3-->4. Whereas I can sit and watch a clan mate make 3 or 4 +8-12 homus a night, what gives?
Theres lots of variables. Some people think its better to enchant a weapon in the church and Over enchant between every enchant on a special weapon.

Example.

You have a +5 SoM. Then to enchant to +6 you would enchant 3 d grade gloves and break them on purpose. Sure its more costly but it probably improves your luck(mabye). That is only if NCsoft is nice like that though.

I've OE'd a few soulfire dirks. First one went to +5, no problem. Second blew at +4. Third went to +7. Wow, some luck, eh? On the other hand, I've blown up about 10 omen beast eye earrings just to get 1 to +5.
Enchanting at risk (going for +4 on most things, or +5 on one-piece armors) has a 2/3 success rate. Armor/weapon/jewlery makes no difference. Being in a church, clicking at midnight/noon/7:11am or pm, does not help.

Do NOT, repeat, do NOT try to overenchant anything you cannot afford to lose.

Blessed enchant scrolls have the same success rate, but the 'penalty' for failure is loss of the existing enchants on the item, and not the item itself. (Clicking a blessed-scroll on a +4 Saint Spear will give you either a +5 Saint Spear, or a +0 Saint Spear.)

If the chance is 50% for one OE, that doesn't mean the chance is 50% for 1000 consecutive OE's.
That's like saying since there is a 50% chance to roll 1-3 on a dice, there is a 50% chance to roll 1-3 1000 times in a row.

Assuming the chance to overenchant is 66%, the chance for getting +1000 is so small that I wouldn't have space for enough zeroes without breaking the forum tables.

the reason you dont see many weapons past +16 is because you blow up several billion getting it there and for each extra enchant you need to blow a few billion more

but I believe that 70% to make weapon +4, 50% to make it +5.... BUT! As we ALL suppose to know for sure: Blunts blow very perfect :p, Dagers & Bows are very stable (comparatively) Swords blow perfectly too...

It is the same percent whether its 60, or 66 or whatever it is. People on PTS have gotten weopons to ridiculous +++. If the chance went down every time, it would be impossible to get past +10. If you have 12 +3 weopons, and take them all to +4, you would have 8 left. at +5, you would have 5 left. 5/12 = 41% (thats where they get the 41% or whatever to get to +5). you would have approx 3, +6's, and so on and so on. so if you have 12 weopons and 55 enchant scrolls, you can probably get a +7 with a great degree of certainty.

Within the raidboss events i got so much ead, i tried to OE a elven ring, dont remember how it was going, but the first 4 rings blew on 3->4, in the end i got a +6 after 8 rings, whats the odds for that?

Rumors say L2 got a build in random number generator who decides if a OE/craft works or not, but even if or if not, the chance is everytime 50%: Option A it works, Option B it doesnt.

You could tell me the chance is 99% it works, but I could still be the lucky guy who crashes 5 items from 3->4.

Another problem (which people fail to consider) is that most people stop when they blow an enchant. This skews the results. The only way to get a clean sample is to attempt a large number of OE's, without consideration of success or failure. Then look at the results.

However, for the vast majority of us, this is impossible.

As you can see, if you buy 1600 enchants, and use them all on +3 or higher weapons, your margin of error will be 2.5%.

If you buy 13 enchants, and use them all on one +3 weapon in order to obtain one +16 weapon, your margin of error is 27%.

If you buy 1 enchant, and use it on a +3 weapon to blow/create a +4 weapon, your margin of error is 100%.

The larger your sample size, the more accurate your statistics are, which means that your calculation of probability is far more likely to be right.

Ok, for you doubting thomases out there. You got your meteor shower to+7 at UNKNOWN odds according to you. First try, bam..defies everyone here trying to explain to you it is 66% chance. They even showed the math backing up their % rate of success.

What you are not taking into account is the sample size.

Sample size = how many people you are testing your theory on.

You got lucky with the meteor shower. PlayerB got unlucky with his meteor shower and blew it at +7.

By your logic, you took a sample from 2 people, decided it was a 50% success rate and tell all your friends how smart you are. QUIT BEING STUPID. YOUR SPREADING THE DISEASE.

Malevolency: When you overenchant skills, the skill tells you the % chance for success. While I have been lucky with my 7x% chance on OE, my dreadnought friend failed a 98% chance of a skill. That's why you don't see that many red weapons. Too many failures along the way.

Because for starters, you arent undersanding the math that SWE so poiletly atemtpted to explain. Every single enchant you use, you have roughly a 1 outta 3 chance of it blowing up. That means, 13 times in a row, you have a 1 out of 3 chance it will blow up. The odds you making it all the way to 16 isnt good. Howvever, its RANDOM. Ive made a +16 going from 0-16 straight, trying to blow it up. I also have blown up 9 things in a row going to 4. That's the entire point. Afterall, the same guy did win the lottery twice, while how many people played for 50 years and never won anything...?


I do however, firmly beleive, that overall OE in the game is about 60-66% chance of it working. However, I beleive thats an average, some weapons seem to be easier than others. in my experience, mage swords blow up extremely easy, while certain other weapons enchant well. I know it ssupposd to be luck, but I have attempted enough to think that regrdless. I wont give away secrets though, selling +10 homs FTW ^^

Why is it that you can't understand that it's 66% for EVERY SINGLE ENCHANT and not for going from +0 to (insert enchant level here)!!!?? Seriously, this is one of the most fundamental concepts of OE'ing. If you can't grasp such a simple concept, I feel bad for you.

But I know what you're going to say next: "Why don't I see more +6 weapons then if it's only a 1/3 chance that it will blow up?". I give up...
It doesn matter. I have over enchanted and sold probabl y100's of OE weapons. There are lots of glowing weapons around, at least on hindemith, everyone seems to have one. But better explanations hav ebeen given here than mine, by people who know stats better than I. So Im not going ot argue with you to explain it, just agree you dont understand it and leave it at that.

It is true that there can be no way of knowing. It's quite possible that the game only allows so many +20's, +19's, +18's etc. etc. Just like it seems that certain things spoil better or like medals drop better when there are less people playing. There is no true way of knowing.

But the percent of success cannot possibly decrease dramatically or there would be a lot less OE'd weopons.
hmm on Devianne i have seen a lot of people but i only have seen 2 times a red glowing weapons and i seen around rough guess of 1500 people in my L2 life
most likely the oldest server have the most red glowing weapons

there is a 66% chance that while enchanting, that it will be successful, while 33% will be likely that it'll pop.

Every enchant between each number (going from +3 to +4 or +15 to +16) is a 66% of success and 33% of denial.

HOWEVER, Your chances of making a weapon +16 is horridly terrible. In reality your chance of going from +15 to +16 is such a low percentage, that you'd think twice about trying for it even though by a computers technical standpoint, it's only 66% chance that it'll be successful.

The problem is, Math is a great tool, but it's also just as misleading. Enless all the factors involved are caculated. And With math, IFs and BUTs and HOWEVERs tend to screw things up pretty badly if you miss ONE out of thousands of them in the whole equation. Real Statistical information isn't a set value, never will be, it's an expected estimate that's fairly defined but never proven to be true enless you "lucky".

ATM i only know of ONE person that is currently walking around with a +23 Sword of Whispering Death. Now what are the chances that when he or she attempts +24, that it'll break? 66% it'll be succesful, but realality states a percent sub 0.0x%

Hey, i've blown a few items before making it to +3 even on some things, this was quite awhile ago, and i've recently heard a report someone popped a pair of IC boots for going from +1 to 2.

I'm bloody unlucky in the enchanting department on my main.. but i've recently been able to enchant only some d grade weapon to say +7 and +8 and some armor to some pretty insane values. But everything else i've blown.

5 pairs of keshes, all +3, all popped going to +4... now that really drove me nutz.

I'm bloody unlucky in the enchanting department on my main.. but i've recently been able to enchant only some d grade weapon to say +7 and +8 and some armor to some pretty insane values. But everything else i've blown.

5 pairs of keshes, all +3, all popped going to +4... now that really drove me nutz.

Because this is not the official Korean site. There are things on the official Korean site that we do not have. This is one of them.

BTW, there is a site which has tracked over 1800 attempted overenchants. They currently have the success rate listed as a bit over 68%, which is well within the 2.5% error margin. Take it or leave it. It's hard to converse with a rock.

hmm on Devianne i have seen a lot of people but i only have seen 2 times a red glowing weapons and i seen around rough guess of 1500 people in my L2 life
most likely the oldest server have the most red glowing weapons

weapon overenchanting chance is always around 66-70%. what you saw on [censored] is the chance of that you get a high enchant, for example: getting from +6 to +7 is a chance of 66%. but getting +0 to +7 is far less than 66% because the probabilities of failing the enchants before you do the 6+---->+7 step add up, thus the chance gets lower.

my statistics sucks bad but to sum it up i made up some numbers to give a rough idea
chance of getting a weapon from +15-+16 about 66%
chance of getting a weapon from +0-+16 about 1%

That is only if you tried consecutive enchants, and remember, this is only the statistical data we are using, not an actual attempt. To kind of put this in perspective:

If you had 1000 Homunkulus Swords, and enough enchants to get them all to +16, only 4 of them would be able to get there, possibly 5. That being said, in order for you to have a 94% chance (+/-3.6%) to get a +16 Homunkulus, you would need 223 Homunkulus swords to get an exact number, or you can use a similar number sequence, as that number requires a fraction of a sword to get to the next level.

To have a 95% chance of success for a single +16 Homunk, you will need approximately 610 Homunks. Do not try this at home, as this is just based on statistical averages. You may not need this many to get one, but you have a very high probability of doing so.

Granted, you will have a red Homunkulus sword, although that doesn't make you uber.

And if anyone would like to loan me 2.5 billion adena, I will test this theory, and you can get the red weapon and all the c crystals. :)

The cost right now of higher ++ed weapons seems high but really isn't that much. I saw a +16 top D dual for 120 mil, it seem alot and of course no legit newb would buy, but in fact will probably cost way more than that to make for 98% of people. Their cost doesn't justify the profits.

I have calculated that I would make more money from selling +4 to +6 weapons than any other + level (+4 Top D dual for 6 mil for example), if we take away the temporal fact. Hell even non OEed weapon would probably give more money. I'd need to sell my +8 Dual for about 45 mil to make the same profit. Of course since it usually take a few days to a week to sell an OEed weapon at a good price and since I'm limited to 4 items right now and that I have lot's of other things to sell, I'd rather sell a big weapon for alot than a small +4. But I might just loose more in a small time frame and make less profit in a larger frame.

Right now I'm recording all my OEing results, I'm at 58% success rate on the last 74 OE attempts (bad luck sigh..). But I still got 2 +8 weapons and a +7. My method right now is to enchant lots of crappy D and C grade armors when I fail on a weapon and after a lucky success streak. I might miss a big success streak that could potentialy make a +16 but I also prevent big failure streak. Then I OE my weapon by 1-2-3 shots. Also, when I get a failure, there are more chances of having a success after. If you get 3-5 failures in a row, you are almost certain of having a success after. I try to predict bad luck and luck streaks, everything has to balance out somewhere. Of course I still got lucky to OE those weapons at the right time with this crappy success rate.

One advice for someone who wanna try OEing: Don't push it :p . Seriously, don't. A friend got some miraculous lucky streak and got a +13 top D weapon, sold it then bought something which he OEed some more then sold for 80 mil.. then blowed the rest trying to make the same thing he sold for 80 mil and went all broke.. So if you have a constant flow of good and no risk profit somewhere, stick to it, or at least keep it as a backup on OEing failures.
Alright here are my 2 cents. When i enchant i always do two weps at a time. Only once have i broke going +4 +4. When one breaks you can usally get 1-3 more enchants safely... butlike i said i broke +4 +4 back to back. I enchant Dark Screamers they are cheap and u can get them from the lux shop. If you cant afford 2 items to enchant dont enchant at all. If you only have 1 and it fails...what are you going to do. I was given a Dark Screamer from a friend. I was new and i went to +6 w/o knowing the possibilities of it breaking then i went +7 +8 the next day and my friend was like OMG... lol anyways ya

Lol at all the people that blow up cheap stuff before trying the real deal. You see what your success rate is after using this neat method of yours? 58%. You'll note that your method isn't working so hot. THERE IS NO METHOD! Your failures do not influence the future!! This is NOT how math and statistic work! You CANNOT predict streaks. But you are right in that everything has to balance out, over time. The next single enchant, however, will not balance it out. Remember, the 66% success rate is a mathematical average only...it's not a prediction of the future or indicator of the past. It only tells you what the mathematical average is, and may or may not reflect real results (since randomness is involved).

Take a coin. Two sides. For youm fellow Canadians out there I will use "the queen" and "the beaver" to denote each side. Heads or tails works fine too, but when I was like 7 years old I managed to understand what so many people cant.... with the use of the queen and beaver. So I will assume that its the use of the beaver and queen that facilitates the understanding of statistics !!!! :p

ODDS OF INDUVIDUAL FLIPPING

Flip it: chances of getting beaver : 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
Flip it: chances of getting beaver : 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
Flip it: chances of getting beaver : 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
Flip it: chances of getting beaver : 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
and so on.....
you can see where I am going with this.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE PAY ATTENTION
Lets say you have gotten 3 queend in a row.... your NEXT flip oods: 50% of guetting beaver or queen. Please do understand that the hole concept of "Ive failed X times" I have better odds of getting what I want the next time are totaly false from a statistical point of view. EVERY time you flip a coin, you have a 50% chance of getting what you want, no matter what the previous flip.

We want to know what are my odds of getting lets say.... 4 beavers in a row. Each idividual chance is still 50%. BUT, my chances of getting 4 beavers in a row are NOT 50%, far from.

The math: 50% = 1/2
Chances of getting 4 beavers in a row:
=(1/2) x (1/2) x (1/2) x (1/2)
= (1/2)^4 (notice the 4 is the # of continuous success Im lokking for)
= 0.0625
=6.25%

This means my chances of getting 4 beavers in a row are 6.25% ( bad isnt it considering I had a 50% individual chance).
My odds of getiing the next one a bever is 50%.
My odds of making it the 5th beaver in a row: (1/2)^5

BACK TO LINEAGE

Odds of sucess 66% = 2/3
This is talken form an unmentinable web site that records with no bias, the OE rates. It says 68% with a 2.5% error, so for all practical uses , I will use 66%

Odds of +3 to +4 : 66% = 2/3
Odds of +4 to +5 : 66% = 2/3
Odds of +5 to +6 : 66% = 2/3
Odds of +6 to +7 : 66% = 2/3
....

Odds of getting 4 CONTINUOUS sucesses. Yes people its CONTINUOUS.... because if you fail just once you have to start over again!!!!!

Odds: (2/3)^4 = 0.1975 = 19.75% (not toooooo bad)

Odds of getting it to +16 successfully with 13 OE that could go boom:
(2/3)^16 = 0.005138 = 0.5138%
BAD BAD BAD ODDS for getting 13 OE in a row. and THATS what you need to get them to +16

My bf got his first OE to +7 and stooped there.
I on the other hand failed +3 to +4 , 3 times in a ROW. I have terrible luck at OE, my BF so far WAS extremely good at it, but his luck is fadding.

lol, overenchanting chances are something many, many people have problems understanding. They just don't get the difference between INDIVIDUAL chance of ONE enchant (66%, no matter if it's from +6 to +7 or from +3 to +4) and CONTINOUS chance (i.e. chance of successfully creating a +16 weapon from scratch). And that is if it doesn't fail right from the start, like the "it must be 50% since it can only FAIL or SUCCEED" players.

Take from the censored site:

Same day i went to +6 on a Top D, i was like "Cool, lets do some dark screamers." I wanted a new Homoc. for my spellhowler.

Bought/made 8 and bought a crap load of enchants. Only 1 of them went to +4, and that one blew going +5 :o
The people that don't get it by now never will. You can shove math down their throats all day long and they still won't get it.

I made a +8 Tarbar, +8 Bone Breaker, +7 Glaive and +5 SOR with just a couple of failures. So I got gutsy and bought 3 SOMs (I really wanted a +5 SOM). The first one blew going +5, the other 2 blew going +4. It sucks when the average catches up to you on the expensive stuff.
I've heared that the "higher" the Grade of a Weapon u are OEing, tha harder to do this....
It's like very easy to OE +5 Tarbar and Hard to do the same with SOM....

prolly the same reason ppl think mage weapons are harder to enchant than melee weapons
and the same way ppl think they are psychic you always remember the positive (most significant) and forget the rest
even if A grade is 66% it just dont feel right when you OE
if i buy X 10 A grade weapons most likely 4 blows up at +4 3 at +4 2 go to +5 and 1 blow up at +6
i almost positive when i buy 10 D grade weapons in a store i sure i get almost a +10 out of it

The overall chances would be 66%. I only say this, because I truly do not beleive each weapon has the exact same chance of success. I cannot beleive my incredible horrid luck with homs, sovs, and soms are entirely coincendtal or dumb luck. Yes, I ahve OE alot, and yes, I belive all the stats, so dont flame me for not understanding the math. I just think the average of all weapons in game is 66%, whereas some have better odds, and others have worse.

The overall chances would be 66%. I only say this, because I truly do not beleive each weapon has the exact same chance of success. I cannot beleive my incredible horrid luck with homs, sovs, and soms are entirely coincendtal or dumb luck. I just think the average of all weapons in game is 66%, whereas some have better odds, and others have worse.


How many have you attempted? Did you do them all at once or did you stop every time you failed (thus skewing your statistics)?

However simple common sense will tell you that your odds WILL decrease when you include the consecutive factor on an individual weapon. The games calcualtor for odds does not recognize this limitation directly but it most certainly exists. Lets just call that the lucky odds

This has all been stated and made quite clear on this thread already, but when you consider what $ value you put on the OEd item, there are a few ways to consider it.

Ppl typically base the $ value of an OE by the % chance of failure of the $ value of the item at risk. The difference in $ value between solid odds and lucky odds is alot of $ on a +16 weapon. Call me crazy, but my solution is respect both aspects of solid odds and lucky odds; meet halfway and spilt the difference.
I agree with 66% now. BUT! But I do see and I DID saw the following: if I take Dagger almost ALL of them will go +4. And if I take BLUNT - not that much at all!!!!! if I see duals +14 - it's ok. But how can one do +14 blunt? No, I've seen a couple of Blunts +14 and even higher! But very Rare comperatively with duals/bows/daggers. And I don't know why this 66% chance doesn't seem to be like 66% for blunts.

Luck can be very ironic. Keep that in mind before you create myths about things that actually exist and effect your odds in reality. I personally believe my luck revolves around my attitude on the matter + sincerity, but that does not change my odds in reality. Its just a belief that tends to be true. And the truth is you will fail sometimes and you can only predict the outcome.

You could prove your myths wrong if you had enough $ because thats how casinos stay in business. Thier odds are never worse than 50/50 so if they keep gambling, anything they lose they will regain; given they have the $ to do so.

The only class that really needs a 1 hand sword is Shillen Knight ( for sting ) Otherwise every other class is better off with a blunt due to the weakness some mobs have for blunts.

You know... it's getting Harder and Harder... today, 2 of my friends made their Dragon Slayers upto +7 with that "Tuesday thing"... How can it be? They just Do enchants every Tuesday, and the other friend just does it each lvl... and now he has +10 Top "A" duals and +7 Dragon Slayer... how can it be? That's impossible...

I am not, and was not argueing the possiblity of getting any weapon high. As for my own personal experience of blowing up eapons and OEing them, Ive overall spent billions of adena from OE and selling and blowing stuff up altogether. My own personl experience is pretty dman high. The general conses is that you ahve a 2/3 chance of successfully OEing a weapon or armor.
What I am trying to state about 1 handed mage swords is, I dont beleive they have a 66% chance of success. Recently, I tried 7 SOM's, 1 went to 4, rest blew going to 4. I know luck can work against me, Ive never gotten a SOV past +5. Ive gotten 1 hom to 7, alsmot all blow going to 4 or 5 for me. On the flip side, those akat long bows have gone through on an 80% success rate for me. Dual Kesh have only failed once for me, and ive taken 1 pair to 9, 2 pairs to 4, and 1 pair to 6.

I think the overall success rate in the game is roughly 2/3. But I think each weapon has individually different chances. This is going ot be exgerated, but let's say a som has a 46% chance of success instead of a 66%, but a soul bow has an 86% chance. Therefore you could say that overall, you have a 60% chance of success in enchanitng weapons.

From my personal extensive experience, I believe 1 Hnaded mage swords have a very low prob of enchanting successfully. I have S duals I took from +4-+7 in a row. Only S grade stuff Ive oed, I dont think its 100% because I havent blown any up. But Ive probaly overenahcnted 100 akat bows, and id say about 15-20 of them got to +10. Most got at least +5.
As for as 1 handed mage swords, id say Ive only had a 20% success rate of them OEing, and overall, combined between homs, sovs, soms, probabl ytried at least 100 of those as well.

It's more a reflection of your experience and not the odds per se. The chance for enchanting even one handed mage swords is the same: 1 out of 3 chances of success for each + beyond +3.

It's all luck of the draw. Great odds, when you really think about it. 67% chance of success for each enchant is sweet.

I've enchanted quite a few mage swords in my time. the highest I've gone is +17 (Homu), but I've lost count of how many others died or were sold at +10, +11, +13, etc. I've taken a SOV to +8 and a second to +10, but I've broken at least 3 others trying get to +7. Just this past weekend I made and sold not one but two +12 mage swords (Homu and Whisper) and one +9 Ecliptic Sword. Again, it's just luck of the draw.

At one time I did feel as you feel now... that there must be something awry with enchanting mage weapons. I could, and have, gone from +3 to +16 on fighter weapons without breaking a sweat. But those darn mage weapons always seem to fizzle out on me before the real fun begins.

But the more I enchanted, the more that I realized that the chance of success is the same...even if the outcome isn't always what we wanted.
Guys... I have another question to ask here... Does anybody know any bugs for enchanting? I'm not asking you to tell me the bugs which works in C5... but can anyone share an idea of bugs in C4 maybe? plz?

Sorry guys but it is simple math. 66/100 success (+4) * 66/100 success (+5) * 66/100 success (+6) makes us : 66*66*66 / 100*100*100 = 287496 / 1000000 = 28.7% to manage having a +6 weapon. Simple math and probabilities!!!! :p

Now lets say Glaive costs 3 million.

3000000 / 0.287 = 10.450.000

So this is how the cost estimates in L2 and we have a real balanced market in Teon
i ahve gotten every weapon to at least +7 :), except one handed mage weapons, can't get them past +3 :(,
and the only thing that i ever got over +7 was my soul bow, and that's +10

i think it comes down to what you're lucky ingame with...
i'm lucky with enchanting, my friend is lucky with crafting (she does final click on all our crafts) some are lucky with drops, every part of this game (aside from the grind) seems to come down to luck

Best way to calcualte what $ value of OE is worth. Add weapon/armor cost, scroll cost, and any previous OE $ values - then subtract crystal value of weapon = then take 33% of that to get what the OE is worth

What doesnt make sense about it? 33% is the chance of failure at all the $ that is at risk. The crystals you get back if it fails is $ reimbursment and should not be counted into how much $ is at risk.
So a +10 Tsu*Sls....
Clean = min 24mil
EWB -&gt;10*2mil = 20 mil
Crystal Value = 15 mil

So.....
24+20-15...... = 29
Then do whatever 33% you want to do to it

So explain to me with this math how my +10 Tsu*sls cost me 200 mil
When you also include 33% of any previous OE $ values it adds up to be quite alot.

24 mil for weapon - 15 mil for Crytals = 9 mil
9 mil + 8 mil for 4 EWB = 17 mil
17 mil x .33 = 5.610 mil
5.610 + 24 mil for weapon + 8 mil for scrolls = 37.610 mil (total $ value of your +4 weapon.)

37.610 - 15 mil for Crystals = 22.610 mil
22.610 + 2 mil for 1 EWB = 24.610
24.610 x .33 = 8,121,300
8,121,300 + 37.610 mil + 2 mil = 47,731,300 (total $ value of your +5 weapon)

And so on.....

+6: 49,731,300 + 11,461,329 = 61,192,629

+7: 63,192,629 + 15,903,567 = 79,096,196

+8: 81,096,196 + 21,811,744 = 102,907,940

+9: 104,907,940 + 29,669,620 = 134,577,560

+10: 136,577,560 + 40,120,594 = 176,698,154

There you go! So if you didnt keep the 15 mil in crystals out of the 33% you calculated for each OE (1/3 of 15 mil is 5 mil x 6 OE) thats a 30 mil difference. Thats like a B grade set of armor and jewels.

i enchanted some topD duals durring the pollen event managed to get like 16 EWD most for free other cheap
was in dion with my scavvy one after the other all succeded got my duals glowing red,,couldnt belive my luck,,tried on my C grade ,,,blew up after +4 was sick
lvling my no0b chars with these duals is a pleasure
but i tell ya everyday i get some fool tell me that ive ebayed my duals,,,lol its crazy,,didnt even know you could buy weapons of ebay,,
anyways gl with the enchanting,,,it can be done but i aint risking no more C weapons on it
btw i had this theory,,beings as so many EWD,EAD,,etc was being given away free i assumed the the % of enchanting was more chance of suceding then blowing ,,well it work on my duals ,,and they look great

Just reading some of these posts, can you imagine the outcry there would be if the same lottery numbers came up two weeks running? or a seemingly unrandom sequence like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10?

No matter how much explaining people do, there will always be someone who will risk OE'ing once, get it to +16 and then claim to have magic formula and someone who OE's all the time and sees nothing but crystals and screams that the system is broken.

You could by 1000 Glaives and OE all of them to +16 without a single one crystallizing. It's not very likely, but it is possible.
Of course freedom and democracy will have its impact on the economy. But its a good thing to have a solid foundation to rely on; in the least you wouldnt undercut yourself being the seller.

I am actually curious about how many people have red weapons over L2 American servers today, and hopefully a list based on all weapons from D-S grade can be provided, and breakdown from each server.

One thing that I also wonder is whether or not if red weapons will automatically be granted additional 'rare' attributes in Throne 2. You'd think that it makes sense for that to happen based on how hard it is to actually make such thing...

Play the enchant scroll market now and you can put your profits into enchanting your stuff. I used to enchant my stuff for free. I found gear in town already +3 and if the price was reasonably close to a +0 I bought it. I then sold my +0 for the same price.
