New official poll? Korea olympiad patch not 4 U.S.

This poll here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=722121&an=0&page=0#Post7 22121) is nice, this is not sarcasm.

Most know that the korean servers have introduced something like this for their servers, and this is the first time (that I can think of) where NCsoft NA is asking their own costumers what they think, instead of letting NCsoft Korea make the choice for us (well lets forget about the gameguard issue).

Now, about another one NCsoft NA. The olympiad change that just went through in Korea. The change where there will now have to be 9 nobles signed up before 1 olympiad match will take place. I have made a couple other comments on this and people didnt seem to care, I think they just dont understand cause most arent there.

Right now on the NA servers you need to have 5 nobles signed up for 1 olympiad match to take place. Soon the patch in korea will be on the NA servers and this will be changed to 9. Right now it is almost impossible for the olympiad to take place with just 5. You change this number to 9, there wont be any olympiad matches, and the thing that people have grinded for for the last 2 years, hero's, they will be **** near impossible to get.

I hope you, NCsoft NA, understand this. Dont let Korea make this choice. You know it wont work. I have watched many of the other servers olympiads and they are all the same. Hero's shouting asking if anyone is going to sign up. It is rare if I see 4 or 5 matches with a couple hour period on any server.

This change will ruin the olympiad and the hero system. Please, if you want to start asking your customers what they want, ask them this. I just hope the rest of the players understand how damaging this change will be if you let it go through.
When NCSoft decides to give all heroes a thorough (and I mean deep) investigation into their backgrounds, I'll care about heroes. Until then, not so much.

Sure there will, those clans/alliances with 9+ Heroes/noblesse. :p
Thats about how olympiads are made now, get your clan mates to sign up, if you get a clan mate, just sit the 3 mins. If you get someone else, then fight. One good thing about the patch is tie's will mean both players loss points.
olympiad isn't a real competion anyway .... more a moving of points to the right noblesse (at least most of the time) ;)
the latest korean patch address's this. Ties, or d/c or what ever, after you sign up means you lose points.
Imagine, no heroes ... horrible! HORRIBLE, what would be do?

Heroes should take some effort. I'm sure people can come up days to actually compete when they are not busy only trying to transfer points.

Anyways, we get what Korea gets except cool things like server transfers and santa hats. That poll you refered too is for out of game customer support functions I imagine, if it was ingame we'd get it automatically.
noblesse A let noblesse B kill him w/out defending himself .... points sucessfully transfered to noblesse B ;)
Heros are far too overpowered now. Anything that means that there will be less heros is a good thing in my opinion.

When NCSoft decides to give all heroes a thorough (and I mean deep) investigation into their backgrounds, I'll care about heroes. Until then, not so much.

Well said Elro, aggree 100%.
Even making it so if both players dont fight counts as a loss.. this can still be exploited and points fed to another player.

This wont be resolved until 1 player HAS to reach zero HP (yes this could be a problem with healer classes)

Think about it.. player A and B enter arena. A wants to feed player B
If A and B dont fight.. both loose.
If B hits A once.. this counts as a win for B and same result.. B gets fed points.

Only when 1 player dies and looses points can this system begin to work and the point feeding stop.

You seem to care enough to post this on every hero thread... you care a lot.
...about posts?

...about posts?

Ding ding ding, and we have a winner.
Taking pot shots at me is par for the coarse for you, and weak. If you disagree with what I've said, say it. Man up.
Hey, I was just agreeing with Krissa.

Perhaps you're right. I do care. I care enough to state that I think that everyone that reaches certain milestones should have a full audit of their account. However, I refuse to feel sorry for Heroes.
Audit of background.. like when you are on a level 3x-4x alt and see a person in d grade, then you see them shouting in hero chat about 1-2 months later, or all of a sudden your server has 2 or 3 hero's shouting that have "suspicious" names or flat out names you have never once seen anywhere at any time in your 1.5-2 years of game time...

Why would anyone have issues with them? :P

Not like I'm using real life examples from my server or anything.. oh wait.. I am xD

but that is what differs from now to the new patch. Now, if that player B gets placed with player C, they sit it out and neither gets points, and neither losses points. The new patch, player B get player C, they need to decide who is going to win, or if they are both going to take the points loss. The new patch makes it so someone, or both, will always lose points. Thats a big difference then neither lossing points
and to all the people who say you dont care, only cause you arent there, you are pathetic. Im not a noble, im not close. If they do [censored] this up even more, I hope you all get to noble and try to compete then cry over how bad it is and hard to compete.
I'm crying now. Honest.

(Where's the world's smallest fiddle image?)
This patch is needed for the NA servers. It would address a number of annoying problems, like the 80% inventory, sign up / log out, and other such problems. It also enforces nobles to compete en mass, making it less easy to point transfer (purposely losing a match). I've kept thinking this was coming at the beginning of C5, cause its really needed. I'm looking forward to its arrival.

If you're not nobleese, and not even close ... why do you care so much?

Personally I am nobleese, and wish you needed 20+ people to sign up before competition starts. And if noone gets hero, really ... could care less, Hero powers are the single dumbest thing ingame since C2 daggers.

Agree, the mid campain patch can't come soon enough.

+ party summon for me! <3 <3 <3

im not retired, not even close, i guess I shouldnt care about my retirement plan then right? If you want something to work when you get there, you should care about it long before you get there.

I guess I could make the arguement that the clan hall buffing system is perfecly fine right now then. Even though it sucks for all the people who have clan halls, it balances out for the people who dont.

I guess I shouldnt worry about it something is working or not until Im there right? Obviously if Im not there and it isnt working now, but when I am there, it will be working. Thats the way everything works right? When I get there, that is the only time I should worry about stuff.

The thing Im saying about this is, the competition doesnt work now with only needing 5 signed up. What would make it work if you change it to 9? I dont care if the skills are powerful, all games have stuff like that. Get over it, it is a part of making games. When you have differences between things, some stuff will turn out to be stronger then others. Boo hoo, the hero's are going to kill me.

As well it should be. Sitting out till the end is lame.

Maybe if you didn't play 2 horrible classes you would actually care about it.

Oh you got me there.

I'll care when the olympiad is a competition, not a point feeding rig job. Till then it's nice that NCsoft is entertaining the "top" players with another poor system for them to exploit.

@Goldshlager, by the time you're nobleese, there should be a considerably more people competing then now. I wouldn't worry too much, and, from what I've heard, it's made the olympaid far better in Korea.
Olympiad even at a competition level is still just a duel.. and not PVP. But heros can affect real PVP by using there overpowered ablities like "fear". The whole Olympiad idea is flawed, and needs a major overhaul.

Less heros will be good for the game, in fact there needs to be a way for a character to become a "anti-hero" so that hero's have something to fear. There needs to be something to counter the overpowered ablitys of Hero's. Seriously how can you have Hero's without Villans? And no.. Zarishe does not do the trick, since Heros can pick it up and use it. Now I would have no problem with that, if they lost there "heroship" by doing so. And if Zarishe wielders would have a bonus when fighting Hero's.. something like double damage VS Hero's so they would have some "fear" of approaching the "super villan" with the sword.

Though I still think Nobles should be able to "fall from grace" and become a Villan instead. With corisponding overpowered "anti -hero" abilties. Otherwise there is no balance.. as sadly exists with the current system.

<sarcasm> Yeah.. I just love this Olympiad.. Koreans killed my summoner because of there love for it.

maybe cause they can field more then 5 nobles on for the event? Is there a single server yet on NA that can do class competition? I'm sure this was happening the first day of the olympiad in korea. Just cause it works for servers with 20,000 players, doesnt mean it will work for servers with 4,000 players.
