Who would survive?

I was always interested in strategy (even if I'm not good at it :) ). So I was thinking at the tactical setup of some towns and the numerous enemies surrounding them. I kept thinking...how is it they are still here?

Gludio for example has Undead to the south and to the northwest, A tribe (or several) of ratmen to the east and a few tribes of lizardmen to the west. I could see the undead marching up to attack gludio (there are a few hints that something is going on from the coversations from a few npcs), and the ratmen would come in afterward just to take advantage of the weakened state of the town.

Dion is even worse off, with the statako (sp?) to the north, the undead in EG (who have every reason to hate the people in Dion), more lizardmen to the south. Also don't forget all the things in Cruma tower.

Those 2 are the only ones that stand out in my mind, other towns I haven't frequented as much.

Feel free to comment! :)
At least Hunter's Village is fairly secure with its advantage of terrain.

Schuttgart has a ravine to its south, ghosts to the west, and bandits to the east- they would only have to worry about the bandits who are not likely to be organized enough to attack a town. The ghosts would not leave their haunts.

Rune has it good as well: water to the west, a river to the east, coastline north. Goddard probably has it the worst of the towns- stuck between two organized and warlike nations in the Ketra Orc tribe and the Varka Silenos tribe.
those mobs are lvl 20-30... the guards would pwn them. The only town that is even close to danger is goddard, but all the mobs aroun there are 1/2 hp, and the guards have poles. Don't worry your afk shop is safe.
The strong guards and levels are in the game for our benefit- I was speaking within the context of the Lineage II world. :D

Just something fun to think about- the constant threat posed by legions of monsters wandering just outside of town, and only a handful of guards to stop them. :p
If only they would help the poor citizens - I still remember dying to a horrible Toad right in front of the guards at TI, and they didnt even lift a finger.

It was an orc just outside town for me. Ah, to be innocent again . . . ("Scroll of Escape?" that'll save me! . . . ack!)
What also got me thinking of this is due to all the rumors you hear as you do your class change quests. Things of the Chaotic times coming. Well, having your enemies attack you which are camped on your doorstep would be fairly chaotic I'd think! :)
