Basically been reading up on Lineage 2 for last week now. Finally made the plunge now. DL the server as I type. Been playing MMOs for the last couple of years now. Started bouncing around after SWG went to the toilet but havent found a home yet. Giving lineage 2 a try now. But what I needed to know which server/realm would you recommend to a new player here. I defiantly know each server has there pros and cons and defintely contribute to your playing experience. So could someone inform me on the server status up here. A little background on me a North American player with about 5 years of MMO experince. Borderline casual/powergamer. Would appreciate any comments thanks agin
Look at pings. Hindemith is great, but most players will say their own server is great. We have lotsa pvp going on, some drama, but t usually ends up being funny. People are overall nice, and I imagine on any server you will get clan invites if you want for academy and rep points
Well, take the server 1-8. Server 1 is pretty crowded which means you have more chance of meeting fellow players but bad lags.
Server 9-10 are European servers with evry event at European times. Trust me, this is annoying and it costs you adana. However server 10 (Franz) is brandnew and you can still try to not fall to far behind the powercurve.
I advise you to check the boards to taste the server you are joining. Every serve is kinda unique.
I have some role play history. But in my personal experience some servers are always known for griefing and just terrible communtiy. Since I'm new rhats the ones I'm trying to avoid
Your going to find griefing and occasional the [censored] players no matter where you go. Have you looked at the Server Personality Survey threads in the server forums?
I'd not advice the ping thing it doesn't matter all servers lag, all servers have farmer controled economys, all server have alot of high lvl players.
Personally I love kain, I'm fairly new to kain but I love it.
I newist to play on erica and after 2+ yrs there I quit leaving 300m++ and full DC robe set on my mage to reroll.
I serverly hated the server the politics and economy is so F'd up there.
Kain has alot of thing thats high in value but compaired to most other servers it's a joke.(as in it's not as bad as you may thing it is)
I'm cerrently just made a toon for acadamy so I still have all of the low lvl gear, and when I hit 40 you can have my lvl 20-40 D grade if you wish to play on kain I don't care...I was only going to give it to my clan to P lvl more acadamy members.(don't get any better then that man...free gear)

If you're looking to RP, I would recommend the Lionna server. We are the unofficial RP server, and if you are interested in that at all, you could come to see how we're doing.

the problem with franz is that it is new...so you will have a very hard time acuiring your gear and getting lvls. it's a very bad idea to start new there... give it some time.

Yanno Nol, its not as bad as you make it out to be. We have some good clans on Franz and some good people willing to help out in what ever way we may be able to. Even if its just to answer newbie questions. Yes, we do have that problem with the automated ones, but I think its only more noticable here than on the older servers because everyone started out at the same time.
To the OP, I would suggest just reading each server personality and the posts on each and make your decision from there. There is also nothing stopping you from trying them all out and seeing which one fits you best.
