Just joined the game, I was wanting a few tips. Also i was looking for a new player thread etc and there isnt one. Shame but i will get over it, any ways i won Lineage yesterday at the City of heroes player meet. Im hoping it to be fun and if its anything like CoH i will love it. :)
I have played CoH for 6 months right after it went live(Issue 1-3) and again in Issue 7 for a month or so, and let me tell you, Lineage2 is Nothing like CoH.
There simply is no comparison. By the way, I've now been playing Lineage2 far longer and nearly non-stop. Too bad I can't say the same about my CoH experience.
your server depends on what you're looking for, I would say go to each server's forum and read server personality. also read some posts and get a feel for the players. If you like RP then go with Lionna.

The clans and alliances that you will find yourself in (provided they match your type of "people" ) will be far more meaningful and will provide a far richer experience that CoH because in this game you rely on them for so much.
This is a hard game with a hard economy. It is also an open PvP game. So if you are ganked by 20 lvl 79 players at lvl 4, just smile and "go back to town". If you let it get to you then it will just ruin your evening.
If it does get to you then take a small break. Sometimes a day makes all the difference.
Indeed, this game is nothing like COH. FOr one thing this is a game with open PvP. And I mean open. Anything you can do to hurt, harm, grief or generally annoy another player is legal here. Except for saying cuss words and making sexual remarks. So: DO NOT TRUST ANYBODY!
In COH you need other players pretty soon and have a lt of pickup parties. Li2 is about politics and building strong alliances. You don't need other players to hunt most mobs. Not until you hit 40.
My advise level to 16 and then decide if you like it enough to make the next step. That step would be to find a clan where you can join their academy. You stay in that academy until you reach 40 and then decide if you want to join the clan or not.
cause your ally is a pice of crap, and so is your oppent.
when some one changes them selfs and their point of views...go nutral then swich side and are called a enemy when you Pk and PvP for the other side is very lame.

and most of every one does every thing in thier power to be butt holes!
specailly when you get all kind of pms from people you never heard of with: "beep beep" just cause you blocked a CL from pming you.
You have to be very good at L2 to thrive on Erica, it is tougher than other servers, as our friend 'N' attempts to explain above. He was on Erica for a long time and tried very hard, on both sides of the alliance, to succeed. While we do miss him, I understand his choice to go to an easier home and I wish him well there.
Sure, other servers are tough. Any legit L2 server us tough. A really good player will succeed anywhere, but a middling player won't succeed on Erica.
A word to new players here. If you want to be good, level up your toon the hard way. People who start with 'top' gear (or even cheat and start somewhere above level ~0~) NEVER turn into to good players. They think gear and levels make them good. This is not true. You are good if you learn how to play L2 well, if you can level up with substandard gear because you are an expert at kiting, pulling, and all the other little tasks, and if you are able to get along with other people so they want to group with you, and if you have the organizational, concentration, interpersonal and personal abilities that make you good...Then (and only then) are you a GOOD player.
This is why people who level up fast (or who cheat) seldom stay with the game very long. Simply put, they are not good enough to last at the higher levels so they give up or keep rerolling. But the people who levelled up slow, long and patiently, those are the good players.
