I'm a Lv. 30 Palus Knight and I'm on my way to become a Bladedancer.
I couldn't find a BD-Guide in this communtiy so I tought to write down my questions here.
I would like to know which armor does a BD usually wears (light, heavy?), which weapon does he use (duals?), how does he act in a group, which basics stats should I push (str, con, man, dex,...) and which items do I need too? Coz I heard about tattoos and I don't know what it is. ^^" And what about P.Def + P.Atk? Useless? Important?
It would be great if someone could answer me and maybe tell me more about this job.
A Bladedancer ALWAYS wear heavy armor and duals. You shouldnt worry much about your p.def and try and boost your damage. You got decent p.atk but you will always be a support class and not a dd. BD's go either +5 STR or +5 DEX so they are both good.
For starters, BD's are one of the best melee DD's in the game. For straight up damage, one of the only classses that out does a BD is a tyrant (melee wise). SO I wouldnt look at it as a support class. Most BD's wear Full Plate C, Blue Wolf for B, and A grade varies greatly. To dance, you must be using dual swords, so its a generally a good idea to only use duals. Thats what you get masteries in anyway.
BD's get no armor masteries past level 35, so heavy armor still gives you the best protection. There are many setups for a BD, a tanking style BD, damage BD, and the like. Don tworry bout that til A grade, and I woldnt advise using tattoos until A grade either.
As far as duals go, Focus duals are the best by far until yo ureach A grade, and then theres a good debate of which set of duals to use, your B focus duals, or A. The best part of a BD is that his best dance is the one he gets at level 40. Making him valuable to any parties involving high crits dealers.
Soon after that he gets dances that makes him valuable to mage parties as well. Which is nice because a bd can expect an invitge to the nuker groups when doing a raid.
I always found the bd more support then dd. Sure basic damage is not bad but he has no specials to speed things up. In PvP he aint that grant because in the current wars, speed is the key. There for my bd setup of choice would be to have as much CON as possible. So he can survive a tricky situation (for example stuns paralyze and such TOI is full of nastiness for low CON-persons) so he can continue to support the true DD's.
