Hey..
I was wondering if i should bother with C grade armour for my DE Wiz. I read somewere that you could play without it till you get B grade expertise. Mystic weapons are all thats really necessary since those increase matk. and it is usually at range.
What should i do? I don't like to D lvl. :confused:
The Demon set is quite good. +4 Int makes your spells way more powerfull. To bad of the HP though.
But if you like castign speed. The karmian set is good as well with +15% casting speed and better protection then the dev set by a long shot. After all you can't avoid having to face mobs that somehow survived your first two shots.
you could go 0-80 wearing dev set if you are a smart mage and have about 2-3 out of party rechargers (EE/SE)
you're right, however, be prepared to miss out on large chunks of MP.
To a mage, MP = Everything.
Higher grade Robes offer MP increase to your total MP Pool, and the higher you go, the more expencive your Nukes become (MP wise).

im just saying the extra pdef really isnt the be all and end all for your armor choice as a mage
anyone know players who have skipped any grades of armour. I'm thinking i am the type of player who likes to through the grades without skipping. This is just out of curiousity and an attempt to save adena for a better weapon lol :D
Well you could easily skip D armor and go until 40 with devo set(i did so) .. In C Grade if you really need to skip something I suggest jewels. I have a sorcy and I skipped armor in D , jewels in C , weapon in B if you wanna try going like this :)

My archer skipped from Drake Leather to A grade. My SE went from Divine to Tallum, I have never had any B grade armour...maybe on my upcoming BD.

dev set realy is the best set if all you care about is cast speed

The only grade I skipped was B grade. I stayed in the Demon set as human Sorceress and it has served me well. Now in my A Grade I went Nightmare although I must admit my Demon set woudl still do me good. It's a very good set for nukers (don't know which one you are healer or nuker).
My SE has a Karmian set and honestly she will stay in that one a long time. Not going for B garde on her either and we'll see if I ever place her in A grade. But it is true that higher grade sets give an MP increase which you sure can use and on higher levels you trully see the benefit of it together with the MP management you gotten used to by then.
I (SE) used Manti for soloing 20-40, then Divine, now I stay in BW and plan to stay till the end of time. At least until I be rich or lucky enough to get my hands on Majestic, and it's only for MP++.
BTW, Karmian is good set, but BW gives me slightly higher cast speed than +15% from Karmian or Avadon. And MP bonus is nice too.
But I have C and slowly B grade sets ready for my alts :)
Get demon, the missing hp isn't that big of a deal.
Yes, you shouldn't be taking hits anyway.
It's a HUGE Matk bonus, so it'll be good to use all the way to 76 if you feel like it. (This being for PvE, of course. You'll want Def, Mana, and Speed for PvP.)
You should be 2, maybe 3 shotting stuff anyway. I personally used demon just fine until 52 where I used avadon but only because I have a liking to taking on group mobs. Otherwise for pve demon is still nice.
the - cast speed on demon makes it pretty much unbearable
i still carry the set in inventory to this day but i wont use the thing unless wearing it is the difference between 3 shotting a mob or 2 hitting
the pdef and loss of hp has never been a consideration for me
Get demon, the missing hp isn't that big of a deal.
Demon is good if you can get Acumen + Zerk all the time plus have a weapon with Acumen effect.
If you cant get a PP all the time as a buff bot, then id suggest going with Karmian.
Casting Speed + Total Mana pool > everything else as a mage i feel.
Having big Matk damage is good, casting slow doesnt help.
You will probally do more damage from 30% casting speed then what you would do with +4 INT.
its not all about how much damage he can deal. this means he wll use 30% more SS, and thats a lot! and if money wasent a problem, he would probably get as good armor he could once he gets into a new grade.
So I sugest get a acumen wep, and go with demon set. dont do a low-m.attack build with insane castingspeed unless you are A) rich. B) you gonna pvp 95% of your time
