I first thought it would only be the first 5-10 minutes..But I literally had to leave my hunting party as I was becoming more a hassard for them then a help as the lagg spikes got up to 10 full seconds and occured every minute in the end disconnecting me with a critical error.
When I got back on I tried again and same story except for the D/C so I decided I'd better not stick around longer and endanger the others to the point of all kissing the floor.
I hope it will be better tonight cause I really miss the big groups I regulary have with my gang :(
Oh and before someone goes:
[Splatter mode]Have you contacted support?[/splatter mode]
YES 3 times and there will be no solution and NO the support help page or suggestions made are not helping as it is NOT on my end of the road.
Oh and Sieghardt's log in screen ping gave 195...rather high no Oo
Well it is kinda curious that ever since the breach we seem to experience more and more hassle from decon, critical erors or minutes freeze screens...
Before C5 the ping was around 175 and never had problems. Now it's around 200 but I doubt it just that or even that.
The solutions given to resolve this matter recently seems rather Oo to me also...Higher up the color quality to lower lagg??? How can more calculation for my computer mean less hassle :s
Actually most video boards work in 24 bits as a native resolution, 8 bits per color. If you choose 16 bits it has to go through calculations to convert those 16 bits into 24 bits to show it properly. So, basically when you choose 16 bits you're not saving on calculations, you're saving on memory.
I don't know which one L2 says has, if it's 24 or 32 bit colors... 24 bit means 8 bits for each of blue, green and red, and 32 is the same with 8 bits either discarded for efficiency (processors operate faster on 4 byte words, or 32 bits) or being used for opacicity/transparency. So, considering that you have enough memory, 24 bits (or 32) should be the faster bc it saves on calculations (it's actually a table lookup, this table being called a palette).
The best you can do is try both modes, see which one is faster for you (if you don't have that much memory 16 bits may even be faster).
Hi all,
you may notice an improvement also if you force the same resolution in game as you are using in the Operating System.
The point is, if the res are different the system will require to switch to a different mode when starting the game, and a change again when quitting. Keeping in mind that the OS is always running in the background, I have noticed a big improvement in performance.
I generally run Windows in 1024x768 and L2 in 1280x1024.
Performances improved sensibly when I started using the same res on both.
Hope this helps,
N
