I was wondering that too...had it been me, at the end of those three minutes the dead fellow would be explaining to his friends how this insanely cool guy who's name he can't pronounce, popped out of nowhere, executed him, and then vanished without so much as a "Hello!"
My guess is Diabolic hung out and killed the rescue party :D
