RMT's, what's going on?

Hi everyone,

Unsure whether I'm allowed to comment on this, it must have been dealt with before but I couldn't find a suitable post. Please feel free to flame etc, as I'm new and don't know the 'rules' yet. I really hate my first ever post to be something negative, but I must say what I must and all that.

I've only just started playing L2 and am absolutely loving it so far, apart from all the little obvious dwarf bots running around (yup I'm a DE and they're getting underfoot!)
The place is rife with them and they do definitely seem to be macro'd/programmed to some level:

** A mob appears, they run to it, cast the same combat move as all the other little dwarf bots, autoloot and shoot off to the next mob, which is kinda funny now and then when they all do it at exactly the same time.

** If you and they are runnning up to the same mob, once they get within a certain range of you and the mob, they seem to autosense and run off elsewhere. Polite programming at least! I know humans do that too, but it always seems to be the same pattern with the little guys.

** I noticed a bug earlier (probably temporary, server reset fixable etc) with a small mountain/hill just SW of the DE Village, seems some mobs (Mushrooms and Orcs) decided to spawn up there, they fell off the edge but respawned at the top when you click on them to attack, only to fall off again (rinse and repeat) - This got the little dwarves mighty confused, as there were 5-6 hanging at the base of this mountain staring upwards. Obviously trying to attack these lemmings, they stuck there seeming to say "does not compute" to each other when the mobs vanished again. (when I ran up to them, they ran off a little way till they targetted another "Lemming Mountain mob" and headed to the mountain again - needless to say I entertained myself for 5mins running up to them to test this)

I understand this is a relatively new server, but really can't see how this kind of blatant RMT activity is allowed to go unchecked, other than for the fact that they are still "paying customers" like me.
They all seem to have semi randomly generated names, to be honest looking at them I felt I was in algebra-land, they're all dwarfs (assuming this is because that class has higher hp = better for farming?) and are generally not too hard to miss.
Isn't there scope for teleporting them all into a 6x4' room until they ask to be released? You could even stack them on top of each other, fairly flat-headed are Dwarfs!

Personally I'd not mind 'so' much if they kept themselves auto-killing/auto-looting somewhere out of range of the quest mobs I seem to need all the time, the programming does seem to be polite in the sense that they'll back off a mob if you're closer to it than they are generally, but they still seem to manage to target them the second they spawn (which can become an issue when there are 8-10 of these dwarf critters in sight)

Can anyone confirm whether anything's planned to be done about this, or should I just shut up, take the flames and move servers/games?

Any feedback would be great, even negative 'cos then I'll know whether to shut up or not =D

Thanks for being patient and reading, assuming you got this far!

Hate to say it this post will soon be locked, deleated or moved. There is a out way spot to post things of this nature it's in tech issues forum under(nameless ones) behavior Oh bth off response is "we are working on it" allso those ppl they laid off well I think they better recall some and hire some more cause there are more of them than ants at a church picnic. In the mean time enjoy the game it can be allot of fun.
All I have to say is this.

Bots are reported constantly... and as a result, GMs are investigating botters constantly. Despite how it may look... botters are being banned constantly... and not just the farmer bots you speak of. Go to forums like [censored] and l2blah and check out their signatures. You will see tons of people who's had their characters banned.

The Gms have banned nearly 100,000 accounts last time I checked... and if you do the math.. that's more then there are active accounts at the moment. It might look desolate... but the botter situation isn't as grim as you think. I revel in the fact that known botters will get banned. I poke fun of them all the time ingame. I tell them straight in their faces that a ton of people reported them and their accounts are dissapearing soon... then poof, they are gone.
IBTL ^^

The bots around RoD are rude as heck- they'll kill-steal you even if it's the last shot. Jerks.
I dont deny that thousands of bots are getting banned, but they need a new method other than just banning them and hiding the problem to new players, cuz they just make new accounts and characters no-stop.

ANYWAYS
Welcome to Lineage 2. Franz is the last place you want to go if you want to get a good impression of the game, considering when i made a character there i couldnt move, and to get the blue gem i got into a party of 9 so we were able to get a few mobs LOL.

Yeah since its a new server your going to see alot of them around starter areas.

AND DONT SAY THE B WORD! THIS THREAD WILL GET LOCKED IF YOU SAY IT!
They KS on quest mobs too... Was a pain doing the healer quest, but it felt good to see them die the times they attacked first (lvl circa 40 mobs in dark elven area ^_^)

-It doesn't matter what you call them. The moderators arent *that* stupid.
Sigh...Franz is a FINE server, and a better one that most because it's new. You won't have a problem finding a real person to play with when you start.

The same can not be said of other servers. On Lionna if I was feeling generous and/or bored I might throw a new player a set of armor here or there, or a weapon if one dropped as I pushed a new toon up. But play with them? Certainly not! Slowed down my leveling...and I definately didn't need their help...and the same can be said of most experienced players on most servers.

And to make matters worse for a new player those servers have just as many, if not more, little automatons.

Yes accounts get banned. And no it won't stop our little friends. There is too much money in it. Pirating never stopped during the days of colonial America because despite having a punishment of death by hanging it was still very lucrative.

We don't even spank the buggers, so they have no enticement not to. The only thing that would ever stop such activity would be if EVERYONE stopped reaching for their wallet everytime they wanted a new toy or had an enchant go the wrong way.

And you must consider that not all the stubbies you see bounding about are professionals...some of them are just people who decided that with what they pay someone to simplify their game for them it was enough to justify starting their own little helper.

It's the same logic I used when I thought...hmm...I pay my yard guy $65 a week. I could buy a nice lawn mower and a weed whacker and it would pay for itself in no time!

Unfortunately for me, I hate yard work...so the lawn guy is back.
