The medal collecting event period begins at 12:00 PM CDT (6:00 PM GMT+1) on September 19, 2006, and ends on October 3, 2006 at 10:00 AM CDT (4:00 PM GMT+1). The Event Managers will remain in the villages until October 10, 2006.

Well it is risky to assume that they would have stuck around till the maintenance. Saying they would be there 'Until October 10th' could rightly be read as come midnight on Monday 9th they would disappear. On Teon on least they did hang around for a few hours today before disappearing.

If they disapeared before servers whent down then people got a reason to complain here. And to ask Mystril to shake that "dev's tree"
Well they were gone from my server (erica) early also and at one point a server message had said that they would be up until the 17th! not like I go to the website every day to check the notes for events .. now I have 10k event medals on erica and no event people to turn them into.
Even if you don't check the website everyday, most people would look at the Event Details at least once to see what was on offer. You should make a note of when the Event ends, and be prepared for it well in advance. Plus details are on the loading screen so its a bit hard to miss.

Not everyone plays every day of the week, but I did spacifically login that morning to turn in the medals and before 10am CDT their were no event managers on my server. I had spent all of my money buying them, I have wolf status and only needed to do the turn in of my 10k medals for a stage 12 blue crystal. A gm should be able to do the exchange for me it would only take them a moment of time. It's not like I would be cheating or getting somthing somone else didn't get for all the time they spend collecting/buying medals. I guess I'll have to buy and sell for a month to try and make back my 100 mil adena =/

If I was going to invest 100 million in an event, I **** sure would've checked the dates 3, 4 or 5 times before not logging in again. There is absolutely no one to blame but yourself. The very initial post by Mystril about the event said very specifically that medals will stop dropping on this date and the event would end on another date. There was no reason for you to not know this ahead of time, especially if you planned on spending that kind of adena on it.
Absolutely, no way should a GM intervene and "spend the medals" for you. No way.
I was short and had my trader up to buy the last 900 medals the night before and the event managers were suppose to be up until 10am CDT on the 10th. They were not up because the npc server died on our server and they never respawned before the patch, how is that my fault? And why shouldn't they resolve somthing simple like this when it was beyond my control to bring the event managers back before the event officially ended?
You didn't read my post I was short 900 and had set up to buy them the night before thinking that I had enough time to trade them in the morning before 10AM CDT like it was posted on the L2 homepage. If for some reason I had not purchased enough during the night I was going to get a stage 11 and some other stuff with the medals but I had purchased enough but the event managers were gone from the server before the posted time.
I am surprised that the cats were not brought back to the servers where they left early, even if it was on the last day. Or.. especially if it was on the last day.
