Anyone have any idea how I can change my Clan Notice without the community server?
If you are a clan leader and you would like to have your clan notice removed, please use the web site (http://support.lineage2.com) to contact the GM team. Since the community server is still unavailable, the GM team can remove the out-of-date notice for your clan. (The team will not be able to edit or make a new announcement for you.)
The server was briefly up after server restart last Tuesday. I think it spawned in the middle of a mob aggro and promptly died soon after. WTB Brez: Community Server.
From what I understand, this is an issue that requires assistance from the development team. I don't have any more info other than that to share right now, sorry!

No, it means its some kind of software issue that screwed it up, and now Korea has to fix it for us. Since i havnt heard the Korean's having a problems with it, I doubt its on there priority list lol
Yeah... although somewhat expected, the broken community server is garbage. No other game would continue to try to operate with certain key features dangling in an in-operable state. It makes the game seem shabby. It's bad enough we have to deal with a horrible economy, an un-curable bot problem, and all-in-all about half a game.
Don't get me wrong... I love the game dearly. The artwork is breath-taking, the pvp system is the most fun of all games currently on the market, and the storyline has it's own unique spin on a traditional fantasy genre. What L2 lacks, is management staff with any real sense of urgency or at least for NCsoft-north america, with no real connection to dev level problem solving staff. What you guys really need are some get-er-done guys that play the hell out of the game and take a daily look around aden and say, what the........??? Then pick up a phone and start getting it fixed. Community server offline? Unacceptable. This never happened to me in Eve Online, Wow, EQ, or any other game which has heavy bases in player communication. L2 has potential to be at the top of it's genre, but it all starts with having a working product. All the fancy garnishings, artwork, and layouts aren't worth 2 adena if the core tools and funtions of the game aren't there.

just my .02 adena.
That just seems to be an NC Soft thing. I'm not sure what the reason is but it seems that "details" are usually missed or just neglected.
I'm not sure if this is because the developers are in South Korea or that their priorities are different but I imagine that as these online games become more and more popular and more and more companies try to enter the market, issues like this will not be acceptable.
Especially as you start getting more casual gamers interested in online gaming.
Of course, this game didn't always have a community server so players just had to "make due". It just seems a shame that a game which relies upon Clans and Allies, where communication is key, would skimp on something like this.

That just took two crowbars and a small dog to pry that bit of information up...That the bit of information i was looking for from the start!
take is as it is, NCNA gives a [censored] about players. All they want is $$ not doing anything about bots = more $$
GM1: Comunity server is down
GM2: oO
GM3: we have a comunity server
GM1: i think so
GM2: no need for Comunity server 80 % of server population are anyway AFK sell bots or farming bots they dont need Comunity server..
GM3: $ $ $ $
NCNA: hey gms dont to anything against bots and we pay u 1 $ more each month
GM1-3:we have bots ??
From what I understand, this is an issue that requires assistance from the development team.
Gandi what part of that don't you understand?
Its not something that GMs can resolve, so I'm unsure why you bring them or the unmentionables into the thread.
Ps. please don't post stuff that will get a thread locked
This type of unconstructive post does usually get removed, but I wanted to address this. :)

We understand completely the importance of the community server and we are working to get the problem with it resolved. And as I mentioned in another post this morning, we are also committed to the fight against User Agreement violations.
Please keep feedback useful here on the official message board. Thanks!

Why not contact support about it? That's the advice you gave me ;)
Mistryl, Since it has been a long time with this important feature missing would it be possible to get the old one back while the new one is being worked on? At least we would have something, we could email, check clan leaders etc.

Probably old one does not function as it should be creating some software/hardware malfunction or security risks. That is, bringing it back will create more troubles for NCSoft staff.
For example current community server implementation could crash game servers after, say, 3 hours of work. Would we play C4 it won't happen, but we are not in C4 already. Disclaimer: it's just an example, I have no info about actual reason for community server maintenance.
Some time ago we had a poll, and most people thought it would come back 1 month after C5 release...we are far away from that point already, am I glad I didn't bet.
I wonder if anything comes back to normal again, seeing that I can't make a petition in game too anymore.
It just gets cancelled immediately (!), thank you in game petition system and support through PlayNC...thanks so much.
First of all, most people don't seem to like to read forums, they want to play, play, play. Second, I have accounts on about a dozen forums to keep in touch with the people I know. The community server let us bypass all that. One place shopping if you will. We really need it back in some form.
would be cool to have these forums linked to the ingame ones when they are up again, being able to contact clan members while im not able to play would be very handy!!
While I'm sure NCNA is doing everything they can to resolve this problem, I think the bigger issue here and why people complain so much is because this isn't a one time thing. Sure it may be the first time the community server has keeled over dead, but it's not the first time some aspect of this game has gone dead and not been repaired in a reasonable amount of time.
For a VERY short time I was the admin of our web/mail servers at a wireless broadband company. The web/mail services were not a big part of the package deal, but it was apart of it. If those servers had gone down for any length of time there would have been hell to pay. We would have been refunding money and my boss would have sent me packing (for the record no I didn't get fired, I can see the posts comming already since I said for a short time).
The point is horrible service has become "par for the course" in lineage 2. If we ask questions out of game all we hear is "yeah, it's broke! That's all the info I have now". If we ask questions in game we get these half ***** pre-canned answers that as far as I can tell, are nothing more complex then the bot auto shout in giran. WTS 50000 cbsps when the shop has been sold out for weeks.
I belive mystril 100% when she says she doesn't have any more information, maybe that's something someone should take a look at. Frankly you can say

all you like, but that doesn't make it true. I can say I'm wearing $8,000,000 gold plated shoes right now, when in fact I'm not wearing shoes. If I was I would be ankle deep in the bull**** I was just typing.
Mistryl can you honestly look over these forums everyday and say "I really feel NCSoft tries to make their customer base aware of what actions are being taken to resolve current problems"? If so I sincerely hope you will share whatever it is you are seeing that I am not.

P.S. I'd really like an answer if possible Mistryl
Once a day I'm going to quote this in this thread. If nothing than for the bump and for people to read what you just said as it sums up perfectly why Lineage 2 players "complaine so much"

The fix for the community server is part of the content currently in testing on the Public Test Server. Once that goes live, we expect the community server to return to service. We appreciate everyone's patience as the issue is corrected and tested. Thanks!

Though that was the answer i wanted, I still feel that it avoided/dodge Polarity's request. I was actually very intersted to hear Mistryl's response cause I do infact strongly agree with the points in Polarity's post.
Thank you Mistryl for the update, I wish though i was informed sooner, it wouldn't of made a difference in its return date but would of brought more "peace of mind".

I looked at the Com server in testing, and i'm disappointed. I was hoping for a revised interface and a better clan listing.
Plus you guys never got rid of that light blue header background with white text.

My last post was very long and very whiney. Mistryl just gave me the answer I've been waiting to hear since the server went down. I appreciate you taking the time on this one mistryl. Like I said, I'm sure it wasn't your choice to not inform us. I'm not sure if you are NCSofts rep to us, or us to them but if it's us to them obvioulsy you've done a hell of a job.
So for all the people who complain alot (especially me), we say thank you
