just add a macro to your short bar put in skill Whirlwind and attack in the same marco walla you got a fixed whirlwind skills =D
it inproved my combat a lot ever sinds
i use this marco to make it posable to get overhits when fighting multi amount of mob's with out the marco you loss more then 0.5 seconds time :) you know how hard it is to retarget a new mob when useing polearm when you cant move?
o btw i dont have a 0.5 seconds delay only around 0.1 second or something
just admite whirlwind is broken it sud be like sting
it isnt broken, it's exactly the way it was meant to be, and personally i like it like that. besides, how long does it take to hit the /attack button? if you're wanting to target something else, that what the next target command is for - oh btw, if you used your macro for the overhits it wouldn't move you on to the next mob. you'd be standing there same as you always were. :)
hmm will it hurt you if NCsoft made it like the marco ?
anyway you dont need to use it if you like whirlwind the way it is i not holding a gun on your head
it's made for nercro's when you fight 8 or more mobs and wanna get the overhit's a Delay of any sort can mean life or death it quite simple when you use the marco you just switch to a higher health mob and use marcro it do the whirlwind skills and automaticly start fighting again
also gives you a sertain amount of time to focus on other things if needed
hmm never smoke weed and play L2 same time or posting :)
Good advice. Weed is bad for you. If you want a dissertation about it, you can ask SithMaster. He's got one. It has links and everything... so you might even believe it.
Yeah, it is a bit of an annoyance. When you use the skill, you have to re-attack the mobs to keep going. All other melee attack skills I can think of PVE related you keep attacking the mob. I think I will make a macro for this as well. Probably save alot of headaches.
Can't you just queue up the next action tho? If you attack something while the WW (or any skill, for that matter) is casting, that's the action your character will perform after the WW is done.
I can see how a macro will save one press of a button, but queueing up the next move instead just feels more fluid.
It would just be nice if it worked like Wild Sweep, which it essentially is, just for skills after 2nd class change. Every other melee skill I can think of continues to attack the mob after you use it. It may not be anything to someone who makes a /attack button, or whatever, but when you have a nice big train on you, and you WW them (War Smith's only attack skill) would be nice to have you continue to attack the train instead of having you char stop, get hit a pile of times before clicking on the mobs again to attack them. Not much fluid about having only 1 skill to use, then having to click back on mobs to attack them again, or use a macro with the WW and the /attack to continue.
Press whirlwind. While whirlwind is casting, click a mob and press attack (This can easily be done before whirlwind finishes). Your char will instantly start attacking after WW is completed.
Thunderstorm and howl works the same way, I've never felt that it was awkward having to attack again after using them.
Do you need to target some mob while casting WW (you loose target on a mob completely) or the selected mob remains and you just have to press Attack to start whacking again?
If you have a /attack F-button programmed, and you press it, sure not a big deal, but then again you are pretty much doing the same as the macro would be. For those of us that play with the mouse not the F keys, double-clicking on the same mob can sometimes cause your toon to take a step forward, messing up your train, so you go from hitting multiple mobs to only a couple, and having alot pounding you from behind. Then you have to take a step backwards, assuming there isn't a mob directly behind you now, and then double-click on the mobs to attack again. Again, the skill Wild Sweep, which is essentially a weaker version of WW works this way, and works well for players that don't use the F keys, and for those that do.

I do use a macro, but it doesn't have anything to do with the specials. I use my macro each time my target dies and the train isn't finished.
Just wondering, since I never used a macro for targetting trains before. How well does it attack the middle so you maximise the amout of mobs being hit??? does it sometimes select a mob on the side, and leave you only hitting 1-2 mobs? Guess I will have to give it a try.
what i usually do after using whirlwind when i open up a PvE battle is queue the skill wildsweep right after, no re-target attack problems there as i always go into a PvE with a mob targeted already. Its a waste of mp? eh, the old skill still smacks harder than a regular swing and the mp consumed isnt all that terrible since i'm a WS and dont use spoil, lol, BH's might find it to be a waste of mp though or to drain their mp too fast. Anyway thats how i do, make a train, select a target while running, at corner/tree/rock/whatever do whirlwind then wildsweep and you wont have re-attacking problems.

At 68 I still have wildsweep resting on my index finger. Even if it had a power of 1, it would still be useful as an overhitter.
Laugh it up, but I also spam it in pvp. Warlords don't get much attacks, and while thunderstorm/whirlwind (give or take wrath and howl) is recharging all I can do is pretty much whack with the default attack, and wild sweep doesn't miss.
their is a probleem with it a skills dont drain life with VR
so not only a waste of MP's but also on your HP bar
While its true that it doesnt regain HP when using skills even poling a catacomb room or a room and a half i can still take that HP nock for a few seconds without any issue so i dont bother too much about those few HP's. I use critstun on my pole so about 1/4th of the mobs are normally constantly stunned so that decreases the damage i take and its easier to break even and with heals actually gain HP during battle

*nodnods* lol Its the only two skills i have on my dorf except the worthless togglebuttons that i'd rather use my mp for doing damage, so yeah wildsweep ftw in all situations... but i try not to engange in PvP so much, lol, dorfs suck at it :/
