I hope the new class is PR in North America 101. >.>
Ok ok, I'll make a real guess- a "mage" class for dwarves. Whatever they decide to call it, something will fill that empty spot in the class selection part of dwarf character creation.
If htey do add a new race it's just one race who wuld be added, tehre is 1 race in the lores who is curently not ingame. The name of the race is arteias btw. A flying race, looks like angels.
In any event, it's just a rumor I wuld say :P and lets leave it to that.

That would suck. These are the Chaotic Chronicles/Thrones. What's chaotic about anghelic creatures?
At least make them demonic looking :'(
You know some rumors say that something huge is going to happen at the end of C5 and everyone in game will see this cinematic and everything will change.
Wouldn't it be wonderfull if this were true though :D
Like Shilen breaking out of her prison and the last of the giants and the arteias suddenly come back to save the world or something :D
And perhaps all the DE's will die out or become evil mobs and half the world will be destroyed, including the orcs getting blown up and we're in the Lienage 1 Era.
Or this huge battle between the gods and Shilen and her folowers and the giants and...
And like all the four dragons show up and everyone is called to help defend the world and...
I wonder if they've figured out how to implement and balance a flying race. Is that even possible with the current game mechanics? I keep thinking back to the harpy and succubus types that fly low to fight, but what good is playing a flying race if you can't fight in the air? I've got an inkling that if we ever see the arteias, it will be as NPC's.
Personally, I'm hoping for Lizards. :D Silenos would be cool too, Mahum would make the most sense. We definitely need an "ugly" race, or something monsterous. You Orcs can't hog all the ugly forever.
*runs*
woop woop woop!

Well, they would probably be some sort of an offshoot of that race.
As far as "Angels" being chaotic: The problem is that people think of "Angels" or "Angelic beings" in the light of contemporary icons. Hallmark cards, Christmas Nativity creches, etc.
But if you were to really look into all of the history/legend of angelic beings you would be much more scared.

I know all about angelic "history." I did a masters paper on it. All about them teaching humans how to make war and weapons and sleeping with them etc.
But I wanted a race that LOOKED evil, not that just was evil or evilish.
Though this is a bad *** pic if it's them: http://www.lineage2.com/images/background/fantasy_img03.jpg
Humans that were turned into Mahum? Veddy eenterestink.
I thought Ol Mahum were descendants of the Kel Mahum that serve Einhasad. Or some sort of crazy breed of Mahum, if you read Raid Boss Talakin's history it talks about biological manipulation to create Ol Mahum in the era of Giants.
omg. omg OMG!!!!!!!! If it is the Arteris or w/e, i cant spell right now, they are supposed to be winged. WINGED! It makes total sense and fits with lore and would make so many people happy and this game totally cooler. It would add another dimension and when you think about it. its not a fair stretch. Ever heard of the upcoming Aion?

Imagine one of these guys flying over a seige wall or with a bow flying around
if they are like the current flying creatures, it would be lame.
if they could fly like wyrvens, it would be lame.
Flight doesn't work.
I would imagine that "if" they could fly, they would only be able o fly "in their realm" so to speak. Essentially, an area where the game is optimized for this type of flight.

Yeah, I had always inferred that; the Giants were punished by Einhasad for modifying living things into new forms by science. The Ol Mahum seemed like they were most likely one of the results from such experiments (I assume the Stakatos, lizardmen, etc. were probably too).
The harpies near Giran castle are exactly what I would expect if they introduce a flying race.
too many things in game would have to be adjusted or compensated for if a race could fly. Plus, a free-flying race would just make the rest of the races unappealing. Not to mention make PvP, and PvE absolutely broken.
I'd bet all my gear that IF they do impliment a flying race. They hover like the harpies. I'm not sure all their flapping wouldnt get kind of annoying though. Maybe they could make them walk sometimes and fly in certain situations. Dunno, thats for them to work out ;)
There is a cheat option available to NC which would allow both the introduction of a new race and stop problems with them being winged. Every race needs a reason to fight therefore if their reason was that they had had their ability to fly removed by one of the gods what better reason to join in. I think anyone who had gone from winged beings who could go practically anywhere to having to go everywhere on foot and limited would be mightily ****** off at this point. They would retain their wings (emote possibility here) but could not use them to fly.
They can add winged race, which gonna rely mainly on legs/foots and allow them to to 'fly' only in certain conditions (like using special skill: charge to fly let say 20-30meters in direction of enemy, really fast). That would be quite easy to explain, i.e. gigants/gods punished winged race for ....something... and remove they ability to fly, leaving they wings as a sign of their's past sins. Hoever, using all their will, winged one can force his body to fly for a short period of time (like duration of mentioned skills).
Going back to races: imo we have already couple of inteligent races with social life in game. Ol Mahums, Stacko, Lizards and great looking Silenos. They would be just like orc tribe (we have npc tribe and playable race).
It could be used kinda like Dash is on a TH, but just a little faster since they can hover over the ground. That would be pretty interesting. If someone decides to sub as them though, would they get wings coming out of their backs when they changed sub? O.o
Bottom line about the Arteias is that it would just not be fun for players to play a winged race that has limited flight, or can only hover. I just don't see them being implemented in a way that would make sense or be balanced. I'd love to see them as NPC's though.
The Ol Mahum seemed like they were most likely one of the results from such experiments (I assume the Stakatos, lizardmen, etc. were probably too).
An interesting thought, and one that hadn't occured to me. I can definitely see that being the case with the Stakatos. It strikes me as...well, somewhat cheap to have all bipedal races that don't have pink and blue skin be experiments of the Giants. I would think that at least the Lizardmen would be all natural, given their affinity to Antharas. And by association, Shilen. I can only speculate of course, but I doubt that the Giants would want to piss her off, given that she probably wasn't too fond of them to begin with for being a favored race of her "family".
The lore is actually pretty cool, I never see talk or speculation about it.
For a world that's supposed to be chaotic, their aren't nearly enough evil races.
They are not tame by the lore of Lineage II. Because they are intermingled with the rest of the world, as is every other race, it may seem as if they are tame, but they are by no means docile. Any "evil" race will come across this way in game. If they were played as the lore characterizes them they would be quite the opposite of how you see them now.
