When characters die, they will now receive a penalty of reduced combat capability at a certain rate (about the same rate as the previous item drop rate).

The penalty for death is applied cumulatively. If you die again after the penalty has been applied, the new penalty is applied on top of the existing penalty.

The penalty can be viewed in the Status window and it has a permanent duration.

You can recover from the death complication by using Scroll: Recovery items.

There are recovery scrolls for each level and each character must use one appropriate for his level (per expertise skill). Chaotic characters cannot use recovery scrolls.

You can also recover your combat capability level through Black Judge NPCs for a fee, including chaotic characters. The Black Judges are in Floran Village, the Wastelands, and Hardin's Academy.

Is it just me or what???
I have read, and re-read that whole thing numerous times and I still have no idea of what exactly is penalty of reduced combat capability

Reduced MP/HP recovery? Slow run? WTH?

Ideas?
"No details given."

Run into a guard a bunch of times on the PTS and you should find out. =)
after you reach lvl 9. :p

And since you (Maline) seem to play on Lionna now, say hello if the mood strikes you. ;)
I have a feeling, but not sure, that you will get debuffs the more you die. This I think would actually be great. Right now at a castle seige, after 1 hour of fighting, your char when rezed/buffed up is the same as their char buffed up before the fight. If they implimented it, it would be more "Lifelike"??? Would definatley take alot more stragedy to take/hold a castle. I would imagine each side would hold troops back to have some come in fresh near the end for the final blitz. Also would be interesting for an alliance to not show up for the first 3/4 of the seige, then swoop down and take the castle because the castle holders and the alliances attacking are all "tired"

Would also be nice for permared chars that only go out to kill bots, to actually make a dent in them. After killing bots for an hour or so, and you see them pop right back and keep farming, makes you wonder if it is even worth it. Now if you killed them so much that they could no longer even lift a sword against the mobs for a few hours, would give satisfaction that you actually made a bit of difference.
I bet it's reduced Pattck and Mattck.
me and pinkylovejuggs (aka jasonMM...board name)

we where just testing that out, he killed me about 6 times, and I him 2 maybe 3 times.

never got the curse.

We believe it's completely random...and after dieing 6 or 7 times just got boring testeing to see what it does when or if it lands on you.

Apperently from what I understand about it, it lowers your combat ability, which in-sues to me that you'd have less: atk Power, atk speed, crt rate, casst speed, stuff of that nature.

their are verious scrolls per your grade. IE: if your lvl 61, you have to use a A recov. scroll; which is like 52.6k in the towns grocery stores.

only town I saw selling the S one is aden.

The A/g CP pot is sweet adds 1k CP, while the B one adds 800.(from the other pic).

IDK what the S/g CP pots adds.

I hope to get our create item craft open so we can get the HP and MP pots up and tested soon.

hope this helps some!

The maximum number of buffs visible in the general buff window has increased to 24 from 20.

In order to increase the maximum number in the general buff window, one must have the Ancient Book – Divine Inspiration and learn the Divine Inspiration skill. There is one buff slot increase every time the skill level improves.

you know what this is what I really want to know!!

Where do we get this book from and how.

their is no notes nothing, I checked all the stores in giran, aden and rune and didn't see them for sell, so how do we get there new books for our skills?

fishing?

God I hope to god it's not from night fishing...I don't wana deal with that crap.

You were both level 10 or above I take it? Otherwise Lucky will protect you from ever getting a debuff.

well since the penalty is their replacement for drops on death, I'm guessing that it won't apply to PvP. Wouldn't be to cool to get PKed only to have to go buy a penalty scroll.

Try dying to the guards or mobs a few times.

Oh, duh. Yeah it won't happen except to mob deaths.
Thus: Guards. They count as mobs.

Gogogo. :p

this clearly says when they die...doesn't say how they die.

also the noblesse charm was added the effect if you died while it is applyed you wont incure the effects of death pen.

Do I need to link you to the page that says this, or can you find it your self? (I'm not tring to be a ***, don't take it that way)
Right, I'm with Nolerahl here. That thing does not specify what type of Death........just as long as Death occurs.

It's either that, or I must re-learn my native language (that be English).

about the same rate as the previous item drop rate

The logic behind the 'PvE and karma deaths only' assumption: You can't drop in PvP, so you won't get debuffed.
NC not being 100% accurate or descriptive in their patch notes?!

shocking!

haha. I always wanted to say this......

WTB NC Cliff Notes!!!
The way I read it is that in circumstances where you used to drop you now get debuffed instead...so since you did not drop in pvp/pk you do not get debuffed either.

The lucky charm and nobless charm they refer to was against raid bosses not players in seiges I believe....its a courage charm not a lucky charm for seiges after all.

It's badly translated. The Korean patch notes did specify "when a drop would have been possible"

They do say "at about the same rate as dropping items currently" though -- and dropping items = 0 chance in PvP.
hmmm so I guess we finally getting the Korean patch, this is going to be interesting. As for what the Debuff does I believe some one had translated the Korean notes to mean it affects most if not all your stats so that you are gimped making it more dangerous to attack white mobs. This reminds me of the death debuff in WoW except permanent until you use the charm/scroll.
Exactly, you will get the debuff at the same rate you normally would have dropped. So in PvP, unless you are red with more than 5 PKs, the chance is 0%.
And tested, with a level 11 light elf caster, help provided by goblins and guards. ;)

The rate of the debuf seems to be indeed the same as the previous item(s) drop. And yes, it is cumulative (that's "it stacks" for you MMORPG language limited folks). So you need one scroll per debuf level to get rid of it.

Basically all stats get lowered and until somebody at a much higher level tests this my assumption is that this is percentage based and not fixed numbers. The reduction of the stats is not lethal but noticeable and starts to hurt quite a bit with level of 2 the debuf and onwards.
So you want to carry the restauration scrolls along with resurrection ones in the future.

Given on how our automated friends react to this they might indeed be quite hindered by it.
Is this already implemented in the NA servers???, where did you read about that?
