As a result of my previous post I am going to work toward TH. My girlfriend is playing with me and she is planning to play probably a human or elf healer type.
What is the best Healer type for her to play (any race, but elf/human preferred). This will be her only character so its more important that it be fun then the best healer/buffer. Any advice or ideas welcome!!
P.S.- she much enjoyed playing a Fury in EQ2 and a Druid and warlock in WoW, that might give you some insight into her play style.
Shillien Elder. VR, Greater Heals, and Recharge. There'll be little to no downtime ('specially if you spam GSAP).
Now, as for what she may like to play, that's a different story. I've not played EQ2 or WoW, so I couldn't tell you. Assuming a Warlock in WoW is somewhat like a Warlock here, that would actually make a fairly decent duo ('long as you let the kitty tank).
I've been duoing a lot of with a TH on my bishop. It's decent with the THs very nice passives, but we are lacking good buffs. If she's thinking about either human or elf, I'd go with prophet, but elven elder would not be that bad a choice either, since they do get might 3. holy weapon and evasion buff. So if she chooses EE, you could try to go for undead mobs as much as possible. + She would get undead nuke to help you out with damage once in a while. And if all that fails, she can party return or give you a very nice rez :p

But well, SEs arent the funnies class to play. they can..umm...heal... warlock in WoW = any summoner here in L2. they dont have anything in common with SEs :/
Dagger users really shine when buffed with at least focus/death whisper, so I'd reckon a dark elven buffer (Shillien Elder) is indeed ideal, but if she wants a human or elf, prophet is acceptable - a prophet can heal just fine in a duo until the high 50ies at least, not sure about after that, but it shouldn't be a problem for a prophet and TH to find a group with a proper healer later on.
if you want to have fun, EE. +5 wit and when u have all the cast speed buffs you can heal so fast :) 1300 cast speed w/ BW robe, itll go up even higher when i get tallum on. not to mention i have 75% rez at lvl 58
First choice, SE (dark elf) for VR, death whisper, focus, guidance, might 3, shield 3. Second Prophet (human) for haste 2, death whisper, focus, guidance, might 3 (or greater might), shield 3 (greater shield).
EE or bishop are completely horrible choices for a dagger character.
TH and warcryer.. u get VR, Haste, focus, guidance, might, shield, magic barrier, deathwhisper. with VR you barely needs heal anyway, and if it is the case, then pop out chant of life..
basically with WC u get the same package as Prophet/SE minus Mental Shield/Holy Wep/Zerk and most importantly WIND WALK :( orc and human is terriblely slow :(
Yes, with WC you get less (no recharge, btb, holy weapon, etc) and the WC has to be much higher for all those things. SE's get VR at 30, for instance and WC's get it at 44.
