I have been in and seen now lots of raids on franz server. All of them from lvl21-30 get finished easily, but not always. Now how do you prevent a raid from failing, loosing 20% of your xp rather than to gain it. 1 solution would be to make clan raids only, but most clans do not have that many players online all the time or not enough members at all. second raid with ppl you have done raids before and succeeded.Add to friend list and make up a time to get a raid party up some other time as well. also most raids fail because players are not prepeared for it- ex. antidotes, HP potions, RES. srcolls SOE,lucky charms to prevend greedy ppl getting free items and so on. And never rush it! think twice. Any other suggestions ideas to make a raid day a happy day?
I think that is the big one there. So many raids I have been on that have failed are because someone was not willing to wait for a moment longer. Once one quits raiding with pick-up groups and more with clan and alliance members that should not be much of problem.

I would say the biggest one is communication (especially with multiple parties). After too many failed raids because communication was lacking, I began leading my own parties. As the party leader you have the responsibility to look out for your party members and make sure things are going properly.
As leader, I could make sure that people were ready when we needed them and that everyone was on the same page as to what we were doing. These of course are just minor things like: who is tank/main assist? Who is main healer? Which minion are we attacking first? Which party is attacking first? As long as everyone knows what to expect from each other and what is going on, I think the raid works out better.
1) wrong group for boss (there is no group of 9 that will take Ragraman outside of Gludin--don't even participate in that raid)
2) wrong player (mistake, incompetent, unprepared, whatever)
3) inexperience in key position (tank doesn't perform well, healer chooses wrong targets, DD's don't assist after primary weapon is out of mana--while recharging, players perceive the raid goes badly and run away, etc.)
4) besides having wrong make up of group--having too small of a group (particularly since C5).
In general, if more than 1 or 2 people die in low RG's---a number of participants have no idea what they are doing. If the healer can keep the tank charged with HP, USUALLY everyone else should be able to escape a poorly set up raid.
My advice--until you have a lot of raid experience, join LARGE raid groups (18 people ones). Pay attention to raid leader---when raid starts that should be the tank imo. Only the tank. (and for the love of god when the raid leader says 'run--go away'---clear the freakin area! It's frustrating to decide to accept the death for the group when 2 or 3 fools stand around and also get killed needlessly)
Don't spend time during the raid typing messages to the group--stay focused on your role.
Never run unless directed by the raid leader--and ONLY then.
Take more healers than you think you'll need--raids last longer now (since C5) and the old group makeup no longer works.
There is a reason on the two servers I play that essentially all bosses are always up and available. It's because 16 people attacking Biffrons is a waste of time for all involved (except of course as a learning experience).
Finally, excitable nervous players are fun to be around in the game--they are not wise additions to raid groups. Raid with known players whenever possible.
I qualification to comments above---I have a lot of experience with rb's up through the 40's. I have only been in a handful of higher raids and was never a primary player for higher bosses. These comments seem generally true for rb's from lvl 20-40'something.
1 Tank group ( hate is a must ) and rechargers ( SE/ EE ) to heal and recharge him. Eventually stick a SwS in there for better performance.
2+ groups of nukers. Preferably Spellhowlers. At 52+ BDs are essential for each group.
Success.
Some people will cry overboard... but if you want to guarantee success... follow this format. It works.
All excellent points.
Necros work well in place of spellhowlers if they're willing to spam death spike. Their mp doesn't deplete as fast in that case. They can also bring out a little summon to add a little boost to the party's constant melee damage.
SHs have death spike too.. but that isn't why I would stick a few token Necros in. There is no mana issue at 52+.... no.. I need em in for Gloom. You know why? Curse Death Link is the best... and necros can cast it too... so using them isn't all that bad. They would still do twice as much as sorc.. and probably 3x as much as a SpS~ There is no issue with dieing to low hp CDLs either... because with a proper tank in the tank group, there is a 0% chance the nukers will get hit and the raid will always go smashingly.
However... I would never bring queen the cat unless it's in an archer group... as they now deal good damage to RBs. Melees can rot in hell though... they are useless. They just get in the tanks/ real DDs way of the drop when it finishes.
In the 20-40 range I would say you can't take just one SO and expect them to buff, heal and recharge (and rez)... lol. I did A TON of raids in C4 that went south because they thought me as a SO at the time, had infinite mp.

this crap is bad advice in C5.
No way that works any more.
the minions spawn every 3 minutes, and randomly argo to players sometimes for doing nothing at all. My SE got killed just for standing around didn't do a thing was standing about 600 feet from my friend that had zerachi killing the boos and it argoed her for no real reason.
so many Raids have really high M df, and low P df...so your C3/4 threy don't work no more.
you can't do raids with out a meely group any more.
your 2 mage party thing was C3/4 when raid bosses didn't have M df. now they do.
why do you think raid farmers aren't working any more, and you see so many raids up all the time.
To be fair, as soon as C5 hit, I rolled to Franz and have yet to log back in to my main server. I had no idea the RBs where changed that much... because so far, they work the same as before.

I tried the RB in EG the lvl 35 one on the first right ramp.
I think I was 29 at the time, had full +++ clan armor(light) and a +10 mithril dagger that I ++ed up my self.
I died once, and it was very lagy had 3 parties, and XP and drops was lame, they decied they wanted to do the warden next and I refused to part take cause I know that with less then 2 full groups it wouldn't work, and there was only 7 people.(not fully PP buffed, or VR)
did cabrio with my SE, died cause of random argo out of no where.
most ToI bosses aren't farmed, cepted for the ones for subclass from time to time.
Prophet with greater might 3, song of hunter, dance of fire, hawkeye, blessing of queen, CoV/PoF. 2 super archer groups can easily do what two mage groups did, and they don't have to lower hp, can take hits (especially hawk eyes), and don't run out of mana. By 76 with Drac bows, that's the best party in game hands down....for anything.
Yeah, the last time I did a Raid was right after C5 was launched. I remember loosing about 30% xp and nearly went ape-sh*t myself and pk'ed the whole RB group.

yes preatty much, but I don't think that you can do PoF amd CoV at the same time.
Nukers are a waste. Melee now do equivalent damage and don't run out of mana or die in one hit.
This is what I was tring to say and thinking but I didn't want to get PK'd so I didn't say it...but your right about that.
I saw a nice 70+/76+ raid group that look liked it had 2 partied of archers and a tank group, but you could simply drop buffers for a tank in each party, and narow down your party.
basicly:
4 HE, 1 SwS, 1 WK, 1 tank(someone with hate), a BD, bishop or EE, or a WC/OL. and a OOP or 2 SE's.
make two parties like this and your sure to win and get good to decent XP. IE thats a perfect party set up.
and tanks are needed for hate and UD, try to keep your group alive. don't forget BD and SwS also have UD lvl 1, and hate skill, root skills.
I'd also have a few daggers for the minions.
Daggers have UE lvl 2 and HE has UE lvl 1. and dash if the raid fails and you need to kite it away.
