Hi everyone..Well,I recently changed occupation to Necromancer :) (tytyty). But i have to admit that the 3 quests i had to complete were difficult..Especially Test of Trust was very DIFFICULT..And that's basically cause of the porta mobs i had to kill in Cruma tower...Porta have new skills (i don't know if they were added at C4 or C5) like recall (a kind of soe that teleports you in front of the porta :S)..I just tried to complete the quest on myself, but,i died..I called a friend of me to come and support me..He was 43lvl Spellsinger...Pointless,we couldn't survive..Then,I decided to call for support from a clanmate who was 60lvl BD...And that was the only way i could gather the 10 quest items..The purpose of my post is to inform future ppl who want to change to necromancer or just have to complete quest "Test of trust" that the need help to complete it..Also,if a developer or GM is watching the forum (i am sure they do it :) ) can check this out and maybe change this part of the quest to something else (maybe kill 20 mobs outside of Cruma tower :) )
That quest isn't hard at all. Atleast not the portas. The trick is to agro one of the portas, and take him out of range of the other ones. Then kill it.
One of our Academy members did the test recently and it didn't take him more than 5 minutes. Of course, the instant he announced he needed help, two of us broke up whatever we've been doing and came to help, taking the roles of tanks.
i love the portas. just get yerself a pole and some vr. and whack away. do those guys shoot at you. maybe you need to whack at em, and run away and eat a heal pot. If you are hitting them, i don't believe they shoot at you.
if you can't run from a porta.... well i just don't know what to say.
I 2-boxed that room with a 42 SH with an SE for buffs/rechargeing and an occasional heal. Spent some time there leveling. This is much easier if you wait till you are 40+ and in C grade.
A 43 SpS should have no problem in that room with empower buffs.
You need to be more inventive when solo. Did you try pulling the agro from the room with a summons. You run to the GK and port to 1st floor. Immediately port back in and run past the mobs you removed from room. You should be able to kill the floaters guarding the portas, then kill the portas.
Cruma 1st floor is nasty if you are new to the game, end of story. I wouldn't do it alone and I've been playing for 2+ years. Because it's a PITA.
I agree, Cruma Tower solo can be kinda rough. I used about 25 GHP's there for my dorf quest. Though, I was in the mood to be a meatstick and take some lumps...Dorfs Rule!
Oh, yes, pulling mobs out and killing them 1 at a time makes all the difference.
There is a room with only portas (I think 5 of them) right by titan's box. If go down the ramp when entering the tower, and go right, and then left when you've entered the first room, it should be at the end of the hall and right.
A good way to manage aggro, now that sleep has been nerfed to hell, is to bring a 35+ cleric/bishop to spread the portas apart by unaggroing them with Peace. Pull them, so theyre all out of social aggro range from each other, and start killing them, one by one. Any other similar skill can be used, like TH's trick - Im not familiar with any other.
Of course you can also use root, but its not as good, since the portas teleport you still. And before anyone mentions it :p yes, trance would work too, but that's a 56 skill.
Think its tough for the nuker quest? Try it for the buffer/healer quest when the only spells you can use on em fail 9 times outta 10 so you have no choice but to stand up close and smack em for tiny amounts then run away to heal, rinse and repeat lol
I recently did it on a prophet and it took ages and tons of mana even just buffing myself and healing.
My own fault though. I know I coulda made it easier by bringing my main or my summoner along to help, or calling in clannies to help, but I try and always do those quests just with the char its for lol.

One trick for buffer/healers is to pull a mob away from the others and use root. Once it can't move, beat it with a polearm. This trick worked great for my SE. All buffer/healer roots should work against CT1 mobs. Yuo may have to use blessed, but I suspect you won't need them. Dont forget the soulshot for the polearm.
I believe this quest can be done with any class, you just have to think outside the box.
Yup I pulled em away from the others. Polearms and bows = major waste of time for most mystics in most situations now. Root on portas again a waste of time since they teleport you up next to em anyway, better to save that mana for healing and just kite em up and down the hallways (which is what I did). Whichever way you look at it they are still tough on healer/buffers. I did it in the end though which is the main thing hehe
Yeah so many mistakes in the texts its not funny sometimes lol. And as I already said I could have called in friends but chose not to. I'm a stubborn one at times :)
Well,i didn't know that the quest is needed for prophet or elder too...I am sure it's a lot more difficult...Well,i think i should thank God i have a nice clan who helped me and keep helping me whenever i need something.. :)
Every race has one quest they all have to do at 37, life is elves, fate is dark elves, trust is human, and I haven't done the guides on the others so I don't recall but that's how it goes.
remember when titan box was on ct2?! .... that was a real pain for any dwarf!
can't remember how often i heard a dwarf shouting 'LF escort to titan box' while lvl'ing there :D
