and it's keeping me and the dog awake. What do we do?
PS. when the dog sleeps it, too, snores like a Boeing 747 and keeps me and the cat awake.

Stick the cat and the dog together in the bed to keep each other up all night and go sleep in the bath ;)

simply don't let them sleep with you in the same bed room.
when I newst to have a dog while I was younger it had a lil bed thingy it sleeped in in a bathroom or something.
lets you control the pet, and set who the master is.

You can also use earplugs.
I used to have some hippies (I mean young aspiring students) who lived across the street. Oftentimes they would have loud parties that would extend well into the morning.
After I got tired of calling the police (sometimes they'd come... sometimes not) I bought the best earplugs I could find and that did the trick.

I found the best solution.
Wake cat, wake dog, sleep.
Once I'm snoring neither cat nor dog one can sleep. Problem solved.

I would take the dog snoring over my wife snoring. Sometimes I wake up thinking why the heck is my neighbor operating a chainsaw at 3 am only to find my wife is snuggled up to my ear! Oh yeah my dogs dont snore so much as crop dust the room with gas. Now that sucks!
