I heard you get this nice little in game item when you buy the Epic Collection..... why would I a long time player and subscriber to this game (started in closed beta) buy the Epic Collection?
Why not give the players that have supported this game for over 2 years something as well?
I admit, I am selfish and greedy, but thats common practice in L2 :P

Agreed, would be nice if existing 'löngterm' players got something pretty they could wear all the time. Yes there are the chrono's but they are not really for long termers and since are a weapon that is only playful are not the same thing at all.
Would also be nice if they would value their other customers as highly as the NA ones, since this is not even available to us unless we wanna end up paying double for it to get it shipped to us from the states.

chronos are souveniors from as far back as Chronicle 1.
those who have them can proove thier fanboi-ism. they arent given to everyone. if i created my account yesterday and created a toon yesterday, i wouldnt get the c1 chrono. i would have to buy it from someone else although they really werent *meant* to be sold.
Its called an incentive. Its to attract new players to the game and reward them for purchasing. You have already purchased the game, already paids 2 1/2 years of re-occuring fees, and probobly created a high level character.
They already have your loyalty they don't need to give you a thing cause they know you won't quit cause you have already been here for 2 1/2 years (so have I) if you were going to quit over something as simple as a mask you would of done it by now.
Your reward is being in the game and techically due to time barrier be ahead of the game in level than any legit player.

if the reward for having all the chronos was a lvl 80 necro with full skills, +16 Arcana w/acumen, +6 DC robe set with shield and 1b adena, could you imagine how many numbnut farmers would be pming to buy chrono Citharas?

As for an incentive? No i don't really want to be rewarded for my time being in L2. I do on the other hand would like access to this mask at a later date and time when the idea of a mask is no longer marketable.

so chrono souvenirs arent your idea of appreciation even though they give you a new one every chronicle? perhaps the many times NC has plainly and openly shown that our ideas and suggestions get sent to korea and some have been approved and implemented? thats not value?
what then do YOU value about NC? a game you would just as soon call tripe as soon as the wow fanbois turn their backs.
seems to me asking for something that would be insulted and undermined and likely sold outright would just be hypocritical.
i pay for a game i play once a week. i would be happy to see even once a "hardcore" player acknowledge my existence. cause if the hardcore guys dont value me, NC surely doesnt.

You mean...aside from the constant changes, recent mass banning of bots, and new expansions which seem utterly oriented on user feedback?
Fine, assemble all the chronos and play them on an event NPC. They will be destroyed by the use, and the player recieves a special re-usable crystal which bestows kiss of eva 2 on the user.

hmmm i kind of agreed with OP even i not as old as him from Begin C3 i wonder why not the sub dudes not have something to show in many games the long term players are more inportend then newcomers, sinds long term players play,suport L2 and are inportend to the player base
Allright. The thing is. Old players have useless things that show how long the have been here. New players that buy the epic collection and get a mask. Also a useless item. But here is the beauty of this mask. Now on the boards I always see people talking about how hard and discouraging this game is for new players. Now lets say they go out. Buy the epic collection and have this mask. Us older players dont have a mask. A new player that does his research will see the millions they could sell the mask for.(Thats assuming the mask will sell for as much as a party mask or more.) This new player sells it and that eases the game for him a bit. Now at a low level he can have anywhere from 2-8 mil dpeending on the market price for that mask and he wouldnt have even bought his adena. That is a sweet deal.

and what about those of us who devalued the chronos as far back as C2 when we sold them for 1m ? we got nothing to show we been around since OB, but we were anyway.
point is, nothing NC gives ANYONE for free will be valued.
Could be worse. The first one I saw I was like "What the hell is this? A useless weapon in my inventory? when did I buy this crap!" then I immediatly moved it to the trash can. I just think having this item for a new player is a good way for them to make some starter income. Let them have it. If you want it so bad buy it from the struggling new guy.

The cellular phone companies come to mind. Hey, sign up for our "new" plan (new activations only) and you get 1000 minutes for an introductory price break for 1 year. Or, we'll throw in phone features with the plan if you have a new activation of any plan.
Those companies don't make the offer to the thousands of existing customers they already have.
Banks do the same thing these days in many ways.
I wonder if we have higher (and maybe a bit unrealistic) expectations of NCSoft.
Overall, I think they offer a fine product for the price and am pretty satisfied.
(and obviously I"m hoping they give perks to people who suck up to them on the boards!)
Thats a **** good point. But it is marketing for ya. The item is completely useless. Just cosmetic. Maybe im just annoyed because the last 2 days of my game time have been spent with some guy following me around talking about how lucky I am because I own a party mask. To me its not a big deal. To some its huge I guess.

Except no where does this state that old customers are not eligible.
It would be neat to have even a little something that bases the reward on the amount of paying time, and having something to torment all the chumps that have been banned and had to create new accounts wouldn't be so bad, either.
I think all new players should be FORCED to where an accessory forever. I think every new chronicle should add more and more pink gear that players can never remove. No drawbacks, but it would be nice when you go party to signify all the pink powder puffs from the OB.
Incidentally... fyi, the mask cannot be exchanged or dropped so there will be no selling of said mask.

So it's pretty much pointless to get the epic collection just to get the mask if you wanted to use it on your main? Or do we know if we can use the code on existing accounts and get the mask on whichever account we want?

Other games have means of rewarding people by time spent playing or total time subscribed, i cant see any reason why NCsoft cant do it here, things like titles, special rare items. The rarity of these items / titles are based on how long you have played on a hourly basis OR how long you have been subscribed, sometimes both are taken into account.

how would that look on those of us who have had accounts active since open beta and not yet gotten into A grade? poorly. sure i have a majorly green name for being here over 5 chronicles, but im nowhere near level 78. i would be zerged and ganked from the moment i logged in just so people could have the right to say "i killed the longest active account in L2 in 1 hit"
