Soloing a Prophet

What is good for soloing a prophet dual/lance weapons Heavy/Light/Rode armor? I solo because I have no friends and not used to the prophet very much he is lev 41.
try getting into raids, I beleive there are should be some going on all the time... once you get to know people, you'll start getting into parties.
Once you get lvl 52 you will be considered a real buffer, and you will end up in robes, so plan to get BW robes if you can... avadon also seem to work for some prophets.

You solo pretty horribly, but a duo with a damage dealer can make both of you get alot more xp. Expand from there, getting more damage dealers, then finding healers when you're struggling on mp then find other support classes like sword singers and blade dancers and eventually you'll be a pro at forming full 9man parties ^_^
prophets dont solo very well. duo would be good tho at your levels (with an archer or melee DD)
but IF you realy wanna solo, get heavy armory masteries, and get a full plate armor, if you can afford it.
for weapon, well, depends on what mobs you figth and if you wanna use a lot of heals.
1) a 2-handed weapon. prefered a 2-handed sword
2) Shield + dagger (or whatever 1-handed weapon you want, etc if you fight blunt-weak mobs, get a blunt. if they got no weaknesses, get a dagger.)
You had better wear robe such as Elven mithril or Karmian set until 52+. Because this enables you to hunt in all ways; solo, duo, party. Heavy armor reduces tremendously casting speed and amount of MP. Then you can not join in a party as a buffer. Undead mobs like Fettered soul are suitable to PP 40-45. You root, use disrupt undead, and hit by weapon . As for weapon I recommend dual sword if you do solo mainly.
After 60+, you can choose heavy armor because you have learned higer level acumen and bless the soul.
yes, disrupting undead is only way to solo with robe. if you want to melee, go heavy. or you will die a lot.
I think you can actualy grind melee pretty much none-stop. or at least close to it. PP heals aint that bad at lvl40.
if you nuke, it will be a 3 min nuke-grind then sit for 8 min >.<

I agree with what hreatfang said
Wont repeat cause it would be useless, but I do have a few points to add. Yes soloing is possible. Ive done it on occasion, and I know a prophet whos done it non stop.
It harder when your in your 40s because you still dont have all those uber buffs maxed out.

Thats why in C grade your way better off with a duo with another melee. You should have the setup heartfang mentioned (two handed sowrd, duals or dagger w/shield and heavy armor). Bring a NG devotion set for when its time to buff (very cheap way to increase cast speed tenfold from you heavy gear)

Once you hit B grade, if you solo, I would strongly suggest BW armor. By now youve max out almost all your buffs. Absolutly no problem soloing now. A solo prophet levels faster, more safely and cheaper than any non buffed (melee) solo player.

Now if you want to kill, prophets have to make a sacrifice......
Since we are not fighters to start with, we have to tweak our stats. You should probably get +4STR -4Con tatoos. Your C grade heavy should compensate for the lower con, and by the time your in B grade, BtB is more than enough to compensate. However, some people argue that if you nerft your con, you cant pvp anymore.

Btw, battle heal will be more than enough to heal you. Keep to 1x mobs that are green/white and you will be fine. Avoid group mobs, but even group mobs are doable however unpractical (Ive managed to solo those group mobs that drop SB in Frozen Lab without any problems)

PS: Ignore Nya for now, I think shes had a bad day/past few months :p
Yes the life of a prophet can be hard, but if you find yourself a good clan, you wont ever have any problems. Oh, and of course you have to enjoy the playstyle. If you do, it will be a blast.
Get yourself in a clan, you'll have plenty of people to spend time with then - no friends = lonely game. Most servers are quite friendly from what I can tell :)
even tho I have buffbots, i would love to se some active prophets on bartz server.. there isent very many of them, and we need them!

Well spoken. I would have to agree - reroll especially if you plan to solo all the way to the top. Soloing becomes a bit more difficult at higher levels but that is probably true for a lot of classes. However, if your heart is out to play a prophet solo, stick to the green mobs, get a good set of heavy armor and buy lots of shots as you will need them because of the poor damage output. Be sure to hunt in spots where the mana / healing pots drop. I would strongly recommend getting into parties. The smaller the better. Why? Larger parties consist of buffing the entire group, sitting for 18 minutes to regen your mana and repeat the process. Smaller groups (5 or less) allows me to buff and still get in and fight, providing there is a dedicated healer in your group. Good luck with getting a party with all the buff pets out there though as a live prophet will just take up some xp...

Good Luck!!!
I'd recommend trying to get a clan; part of the reason the boxed buffers even exist is because of a severe lack of live ones. Most clans and most parties would much rather have a live prophet than a boxed, even at the 7x levels when XP is at a premium.

*checks siggy* yup, still good :p

i want my bow back
Ahem, Battle Prophets ftw.

Stick him in heavy, find somethin 1handed that hurts when it's swung hard, and get a shield.

At least you'll never need buffs... guess that was the point eh :P

you hit for 24 dmg
Critical hit! you hit for 175 dmg

oO Yes! i'm a killing machine! just gonna take me maybe an hour to kill this angel...
lol I didn't say he'd be useful ^^

more useful tho than a prophet player who buffs and then........... stands there............

don't they have Heavy Mastery? why not put it to some use and turn some heads =P
Light armour allows for significantly higher MP regeneration - heavy really only works if you level in small groups.

Problem with healers trying to do damage is that they often try it with -8STR, which is all nice and good for PVP, but for PvE of course present a 'minor' problem.

Stacked out with +4STR and a good weapon, a prophet can not reach the crit rate of, say, a PW (an unarguably useful DD), but they can come fairly close to their PAtk - being off by maybe 20-40 points overall, provided the dagger wears no STR tattoos (and I honestly don't know any daggers that do, and any battle prophets that don't wear +STR).

In short, don't try your damage with a homu and -8STR and you might see some certainly not overwhelming but definitely nice numbers.
