Omega, a skilled and experienced fighter, has been captured by the leader of an undead legion of warriors. The leader of the undead has demanded a ransom for the return of Omega, and Omegas faithful servant has traveled to the villages of Aden and Elmore to gain support for the return of her master.
Coffer of Shadows
For a fee of 50,000 adena, you can purchase a Coffer of Shadows from Omegas Cat. These mysterious containers can reveal Demon Horns or the Mask of Spirits, special head accessory items from the netherworld. The coffer might also reveal a Mystery Potion, Firecrackers, or a Large Firecracker. Extremely lucky adventurers might also find a stage 11 or 12 Soul Crystal inside. Good luck!
Best Event EVER! No farming mobs for millions of hours to get one little thing. :> Just gonna buy my way to horns!!!!!! I got a couple billion in the bank.
I agree stage 11 and 12 crystals are a problem.. But this is not an Event its a Luck Dip....
Pay 50.000k and take your chance. Talk about hitting honest players.... How many low lvl players can aford to waste 50k ??
Hey, there were sugestions for improving rewards in the Lottery. Here you got it. Oh, and about low lvl players not having 50k to waiste, well, those dont need a stage 11-12 SA.
Mystril, will the coffers dissapear after the event will be over, or stay in the game?
One of the most poorly concieved events to date, if not the worst. It would be one thing if the coffers dropped off mobs, or you traded other items that dropped off mobs for coffers, but paying 50k adena, only means buisness for those "oh so legit" adena selling companies.
Pretty surprised about this event, this only encourages those who cheat, to cheat some more honestly.
Events that encourage play time are best for both the player, as well as the game. This event dosen't encourage anyone to go out and play. Past event's also gave you an oppurtunity to earn items, for free, by simply doing what you would do on any given day you normally would play, this event also lacks that value to it as well. Your paying out of your pocket, not really earning or having much fun with it. Its always more rewarding to go out and collect items, and trade and or earn items with them, all this simply encourages people to get as much adena as they can, and by any means as they can.
Sure some will have money to spare, and won't cheat their way into this game, but lets be realistic about it, more will find themselves playing with their C.Card's, and not their in game friends.
Would be funny if this event was a front to monitor "High Volume Adena Tranfers" between players randomly and without reason, guess we see.
I still now, cannot just lose 50k, not even talking about trying 10 times and losing 500k
Well I CAN just lose 100 times for fun. I like an event that doesn't just base your economic gains on playtime. Events should blend with the market, not be routes around it for lazy players. The market in L2 is one of the best parts of the game.
This event is no different than other events. If someone wants to buy their way into an event then they can and will. The medals from the previous event ccould be bought.
This event is similar with a different twist. You hunt, you get adena, you spend on the event. I'm also doing my warehouse cleaning EVENT preparing for next week.
How do events that encourage you to kill mobs...something you do all day anyways, make you experience anything different?
Don't know about you, but if there is an added incentive to do what your already accustomed to doing, you will tend to do it more, and it will be easier cause there is a more definative purpose to it, other than JUST the Grind. Also encourages more people to get out on alts, toons, etc. It encourages people to spend more time in game, which in turn has a chance to introduce new areas, and or a chance to have people get 'addicted' to it again. People need to think a bit more outside of the box.

Other events didn't limit you from participating, this one does.
Last I checked, I could run around on a lvl 25 toon and get medals, nectar, letters and so on and have fun. Not many players can even do that with this event.
Granted cheaters will always cheat, but those people who play fair, and are willing to invest the time into hunting mobs for items, they get back the time they invested by the amount of event items that dropped, they earned that with the time they invested, how can those same players be rewarded with this event? They really can't, this event dosen't really reward those who work hard and invest their time, instead, it plays a game of chance. Makes them have to be lucky for it to be worth their while.
With other events people complain it's for the bots.
Now people complain it's for the ebayers.
Events with sucky drops. People complain it's not worth it.
Events with great drops. People complain it blew the economy.
Well, you can't win. Maybe they should just do away with events.
Wait they did that already and people complain there were no events.

On the contrary, most people grind and 2box as hard as possible during drop events in the best location they know to hunt. They kill as rapidly as possible, stop partying (high hp mobs, slow kills, split with party) and attempt to make up for poor market decisions through a grind. Then they come on the forums and complain that the drop rate isn't enough for their toon to earn a stage 12 soul crystal.
This event will directly impact inflation and help the market stabalize through the removal of high end adena. It is a terribly healthy change to most servers that will likely bring stability to the market in ways you will simply take for granted. It is an AMAZINGLY good idea.
Im not saying I don't welcome the event, cause it really dosen't negatively effect me, I been around long enough to be able to afford it.
tbh, I always liked hearing those stories of people new to the game busting their *** off on some events and making it well off to afford themselves into their next grade of armor with ease, etc.
This game dosen't benefit anyone but the Ebayers, Farmers, and the players that are wealthy enough. At leats with past events it benefitted the newbies too :P

Not to be rude, but I fail to see your point of view on it.
wasnt there a whole thread yesterday on rewarding the long time players? Well...this must be it. Now get out there and buy some boxes!! :) ...coffer...whatever...
Reaganomics my friend. Trickledown in action. Stabalizing inflation due to high level players having too much adena...removing adena from L2...will keep prices on D grade sets and C grade sets from going even higher. This event is great for noobs. Sure they won't get to top NG any faster, but the effects of inflation on plated leather boots may be kept under control enough that they can afford them someday when they've earned it.
Check the avatar...I'm not big on welfare programs ;)

Say, spawn a thousand Elpys over all of Aden ... ;)
Hrm so the gold lined white mask is from the epic box.
The gold lined red mask is from this event.
I wonder where the gold lined black mask will come from. Yeah I was poking at a fan site to look at accessory crafting recipes.
How will it remove high end adena? Those who has alot of adena will get the rare items, then sell them on to players for crazy prices well beyond what they spent on the event.

Well ... let me see ... how will an event where adena gets spent to aquire items remove adena (not "wealth", just adena) from the game, I wonder? ;)

LOL I just had to laugh at how dumb a question that was. Anytime you buy from a player, the adena stays in game. Anytime you buy from an NPC, the adena is forever destroyed. The more crafting of items from farmed mats, the worse inflation gets. The more often you waste money on soulshot spamming in the arena or buy fishing items, the better inflation gets.
I have to say, I'm always amazed at the people who can whine and complain without understanding a **** thing about economics. And then they complain they are too poor. Just ROTFLOL
This event is great for the economy. It removes excess adena from the market and helps keep inflation in check. By itself it won't have a mind-blowing impact, but it's just another tool (just like shots) that helps decrease inflation.
Yes, cheaters will cheat to participate, but they already cheat so it's nothing new. And you should be happy that their money will disappear just as fast as yours in this event. It removes the illegit money too. And yes, you can make the argument that players will just sell the mask/horns so the money isn't removed from the market, but basically it is. There is little or no market for event accessories, you can't sell them to a shop, or crystallize them. They sit in a player's inventory doing basically nothing, and therefore they remove adena from the market. And if this event is like the others that give a chance of stage 11 and 12 crystals...they will be so rare it won't make a bit of difference.
For those of you who don't like it because it doesn't encourage hunting mobs or whatever...well this certainly isn't the first event that didn't involve killing mobs over and over. It's not quite as beneficial to players in the sense that you have to spend hard-earned adena instead of getting event items in addition to adena while hunting mobs, but it also means the market won't be flooded with items that totally screw castle-owners over.
The one obvious disadvantage to this event is that it will be hard for lowbie new players to participate. On the other hand, however, it will be easier for working and busy L2 players to participate, who might not otherwise have the time to hunt mob after mob in search of event items.
And seriously, we pay $$ for party masks from the Priest of Dawn...this is absolutely no different. People just have to fork out a bit of cash for their mask/horns if they want it, and there's a chance of failing. But since nobody yet knows how difficult these items are to get, we have no idea how much money will be required and how big of an impact it will have on the economy.
Some of you guys may not like it, but the fact of the matter is this event is good for the economy. It's one of the first events that gives players items and doesn't completely throw the economy for a loop. Just the opposite, in fact, this event is one of the first that actually works against inflation and for a stable economy.
So all of you that are complaining, go take an economics course and you'll realize just how brilliant NCSoft was this time. It would appear that this time they actually took into consideration the far-reaching impact that events can have and not only minimized the bad, but made the event beneficial. I'm seriously impressed.

When there is event when you have to grind your's behind of to get something people whine becouse it benefits bots, couse they grind the mosust. People whine becouse everyone goes for killspeed to get as much items as pocible, so party oriented classes are left out (healers, for example). People whine becouse you need to spend lots of time to get something worthwhile, or buy event items from farmers.
They give event when it's not dependent on grinding and time invested, people whine again that it will only benefit those who cheat.
Come on! Finaly decide what exacly benefits cheaters, or just get over it.

Nice Speech, However you fail to take into account how much adena our automated friends have.. If you think this event will remove that, your wrong, yes muppets will buy it, and that will remove some. But normal hard playing players cant aford to throw loads of adena away....
Question. do you think Farmers will play ??? NO because they want profit.. Who holds the bulk of the extra adena ??
Prices on the servers are dropping, and there is a reason for this.. But if i posted it, my post WOULD be removed.
Bah...Who cares who can buy more coffers. If you cant afford or would rather not spend your adena on them then oyu can make a choice not to gamble with it. I however will make a choice to drop about 5 mil adena on the event and take the risk. If I lose all that adena..Well....back top the grind..If I get some good stuff..Well than sweet. I can stop worrying about how im going to buy or craft my **** B grade. Its a risk every player in this game can choose to take or not take.
Adena prices from unmentionalbes are on the rise. Suggesting their supply is no longer able to meet demand...that's what causes prices to go up. I will throw away 5 M on the event just to have fun. Many will throw away more. Bots don't throw their money away, the players do, for fun. It removes cash from the server, probably several billion per server. That is significant and a positive change. You're wrong, but nice try.
While I think events can be far more involving and interesting, this one is almost refreshingly realistic.
A majority of the playerbase will be purchasing items in any given harvesting event to either make money or get what they want. This simply takes out the middle man (often farmers) and takes money directly out of the game, instead of it being recycled by way of idiots (the classic - buy adena from website, buy item from farmer, farmer sells adena on website, repeat thing).
At least the adena is going into the vast chasm of nothingness. You should all learn to accept that no matter what event they create, cheating players will always have the edge, they have the edge in every way and that shows no signs of changing sadly.
For everyone else, it is. It's just that I win. The gamble is how much the others lose. :)
youre one of those guys that only plays the flavour of the month classes arent you? otherwise you take your life in your hands you know. theres a reason why theyre the flavours of the month.

Oh, yes, of course I do.
Warsmith, to be precise. With Bounty Hounter as the future first subclass.
Totally FotM, I grant it to you.
No idea what it has to do with my take on gambling. :)

what if you lost when you "knew" you would win? dont lie, you know its happened.
It didn't happen. It won't happen. A chance of me losing a gamble bigger than 0%, and I just don't do it.
It's the same with this event. I can't be sure if my chance of winning is bigger or exactly 0%, so I won't participate.
[EDIT: Actually, I tend to look at the amount of money won in such a lottery, not strictly the chance of winning. If I don't know if I lose or win money, I don't participate. If I know I'll be losing money, I won't participate either. The same if I know I have a chance of losing money.]
OE isn't a gamble. I calculate the costs, risks and rewards the same as with every other activity, and add a hefty security marigin. I don't posses anything I couldn't lose or leave behind on a second's notice. I don't go out of town without a truck load full of potions and scrolls for emergency purposes. I don't hunt without having Soulshots (although I'm not always using them). I don't take a risk if I'm not sure I won't lose.
I didn't lose, ever. I don't intend to. As such, I won't participate in this event.
oh sith, we truely are the only people with fully functional brains playing this game, arent we?
you people who complain must be either
A) poor
B) lazy
C) cursed with a mental disability
D) members of the society who complain for the sake of complaining.
I'll run through these points to help you understand why the reasons you list are ******ed, and do a point by point rundown of why you fall into one of the four categories I list above and how any argument you reply with is pointless and lacking thought.
A) Poor People:
So, your poor. Tough! Welcome to Lineage 2, where we play like its real life + elves. So your a bum begging on the street? Wanna know what the majority of the world will say to you?
GET A JOB YOU BUM!
in Lineage, this is incredibly easy to fix. your a bum in L2 begging for change? go kill a bear outside dion and you get paid 400 bucks. what homeless person wouldnt do that???
also, if your poor to the point of not being able to drop 50k here or there, you really shouldnt be concerned with such things like getting a stage 11 or 12 soul crystal. unless you know a level 28 char who's a market GURU and somehow managed to aquire A grade masteries......
your poor = your a low level = this event is the LEAST OF YOUR CONCERNS!!!!!
B) Lazy People.
Lazy people hate taking a risk, being ambitions, or doing anything that really puts them at any risk of losing anything in anyway. not only that, they want things handed to them free of charge for doing what they normally do, which generally amounts to nothing. you grind all day long? GREAT! GOOD FOR YOU! YOU EARN YOUR MONEY AND MATS!!!!! Now take some of the adena you earned and play the lotto, cause lazy people love the lotto. cause hey? whats 1 dollar spent if you have a chance to get back 58 million dollars? such a small investment for such a large reward, well g'**** son, why dont we all play the lotto?
additional items granted to people equates to nothing but a handout to lazy people, who are also poor due to laziness, which never fixes anything. Smart people, like Sith and myself, can look at the medal event(which I made a killing off of btw) and say:
YKIIBAOBAOIIKY is selling medals at 6.8k a pop. multiply that by 10k, that comes to be 68mil, for a stage 12 soul cry that previously went for 100-120mil.
WHO WOULDNT PAY THAT?????
poor people, thats who. and poor people dont need those crystals tbh. if your poor, join a clan. people are their to help you for a reason. oh, wait, thats right, your also lazy, and you dont want to put the effort into meeting new people and organizing a few raids to get your crystals for FREE.
C) mentally handicapped players:
its ok, we understand you have trouble using the power of mental thinking. its not your fault. but I'll try to make this as simple as possible for you to understand. im sorry, but due to lack of recources, i can't make you a pop-up book. me am sorry :(
player "Ir0x0rzUrFac3" purchases 2847 Coffers of Shadow all at once.
*RED FLAG* (look my specal little friends, the flag is red, and pretty ^_^)
Five minutes later, Ir0x0rzUrFac3 sells one stem to "asdfge" for 500m at the Monster Track.
Goes back to town, and buys 20,729 Coffers of Shadow in bulk, then moments later blows up the three Soul Bows he just bought trying to to enchant them to +10 (pretty shiny crystals children! Yay! /happyface)
a quick IP check between the plaync master account of Ir0x0rzUrFac3 and asdfge, tracking the Ip to a *certain* country in the.... North-Eastern hemisphere, and.....
Look children, our speciall guess today is Mister Bannhammer! YAY!!!!!
hope the made sence without the pop-up flags, soul bows and hammers.
D) Complainers:
to put it simply, dont speak *your* opinion on behalf of someone else. its rude. if a lowbie who cant afford the coffers has an issue with it, then the lowbie will speak up. this isn't Liberia, its Aden. there are no weak impoverished Palus Knights or Elven Scouts that you *need* to stand up for and protect from the big bad ECONOMY!!!!!! they can do it themselves. so dont stand there going "oh, this event is just horrible. those poor lowbies who have no adena and probabaly wont get a mask. its such a shame. those poor poor lowbies" WHILE YOUR BUYING 50 OR 60 COFFERS!!!!!!
keyword: hypocritical. if you have the money to buy coffers, and you feel the risk is worth the reward, by all means by as many as you want. YOU EARNED THE RIGHT.
now that thats out of the way, I'll explain how this event is great, and why you dissagreeing with the few of us that understand this makes you look like one of the four aformentioned groups of people:
Soul Crystals.
They're rare. Very rare. people that arent in a clan SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE THEM in my humble opinion, but even people in clans have a hard time with the stage 11's and 12's. As a result of their being so few actual crystals, and soooooo many people that need them, the people who sell them to other immediately think:
i've got a crystal that 5 ppl want. their all rich, so lets start the bidding at 100m.
I'LL PAY 112 MIL
118 FROM ME
I'M DROPPIN 125 MIL LIKE ITS HOT! BEAT THAT N00BS
aww, you outbid me
crystal seller: WTS TWO MORE crystals for 120mil
awww man, now i have to sell my BW boots, but oh well, its worth it!!!
now then, lets examine the medal collecting event (one of my favorite events actually). the market is now innundated by crystals, because smart entrepreneurs like myself bought all the medals from stupid bots, and thought we'd get rich reselling them for standard prices and scraping a large profit off our investment. only hey, look at that, economics 101 at work ladies and gents. more stage 12s on the market means more people to compete with, meaning more people will be willing to undercut you, and you in turn lower your prices to beat them, and VOILA!!!! stage 12 cristals for sale on bartz for 76m! Who'da thunk it??? now, for the time being at least, poor noobs have a chance of actually buying their crystal for a much lower price. HOW ABOUT THAT!!!! NOOBS BENEFITTED FROM MY MARKET SAVVY ENDEAVOR! Open-ended markets are a beautiful thing, no?
so now we come to the coffers. could some lucky mig mug buy just one coffer and pop out a stage 12 blue? absolutely. this will lead to more crystals going on the market, and prices getting lowered yet again, and poor lazy people with mental handicaps with a pention for complaining will benefit from the risks we ambitious players take.
honest to god, I, nor anyone else on these board, can explain this ANY BETTER!!! If you *STILL* dont understand why the event is a work of simplistic beauty, you need to move to Canada, or Europe, or some other country thats based on a socialist or communist government, because thats what your leaning towards. have fun living in poverty like most communist states(Cuba and N. Korea anyone?), because your too simple to realize this system is the best, and by labeling it wrong, you punish not only those people ambitious enough to make a move on it, you punish everyone below them on the economic later.
Trickle-down ftw.
PS: Sith......
My SK is still a better small party tank then you :P
Absolutely it is...but I can still root your whole pt :p
I look at the ignorance of some in a simple way... most of the world is in debt, incapable of managing their own money. How many nations run welfare programs, unemployment, everything to create nets for the inept? And yet we expect people to be able to handle all that responsibility in a world where the consequence of your failures doesn't prevent you from eatting dinner the next day.
its ok, we understand you have trouble using the power of mental thinking. its not your fault. but I'll try to make this as simple as possible for you to understand. im sorry, but due to lack of recources, i can't make you a pop-up book. me am sorry :(

no comment means you have nothing intelligent to say. your post would have been 100% fine if you had just laughted at my statement because you found it amusing. but due to the fact that you just *had* to add "No Comment" means you do in fact have a comment, but are afraid of reprocussions from powertripping mods to post your thoughts.
for shame sir, for shame.
hell, if you do have an opinion, send me a pm. mods cant do anything about private messages. disaggree all you want with me in private, cause I love debating with people.
and with that, i'd like to thank NCsoft for the unofficial associate's degrees in business and psychology i've earned through the 2.5 years of playing this game.
1) Omega is being held hostage, and the undead captore demand a ransom. Omega's cat is taking coffers of shadows and selling them to players to help raise money to get her master released.
2) Omega was the name of one of the GMs on the PTS, an orc Titan or Grand Khavatari.
3) we probably will end up fighting a horde of undead at the end of the event. im sure it will go something like:
Omega has been released, and with the money from his ransom, the undead are launching an attack on the lands of aden and elmore!!!!! on halloween night, beware of the legions of undead ammassing around towns and slaughtering unsuspecting adventurers!!!!
just a thought tho.
and yeah Shasi, mad props fo doin' what needz done yo, fo sho
Good luck!
gm Omega got scammed on PTS and now he needs adena  :p

As opposed to just opening the boxes and selling what's inside?
The cat (if it is a cat this time again) is a big scammer, I guess, and knows most of the boxes are empty. ;)
2) Omega was the name of one of the GMs on the PTS, an orc Titan or Grand Khavatari.
Can we get a "Rescue Mistryl" event next, please? :)
Woah as usual so many people are totally naive and clueless, people talking about farmer benifiting from this event rofl. Farmers benifit from most events where they pick up event items like medals and end up with like 50,000+ medals and sell them for 8k a piece now thats a great event for farmers. This is much different, this is something a famer would not do, there not going to use there adena that they sell for USD just to get elven firecrackers (for the most part) they could care less about that stuff.
Red Masks & Horns (http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n275/Venusrocks/redmasks.jpg)
I want horns... This is no different then like the event medal. Its not going to benefit everyone. With the event medals, you have to spend an insane amount of time in hopes to get something good... It is a set amount of items you have to collect to get what you want. Not everyone has all the time in the world. With this, its an equal chance for everyone to get something. Maybe not everyone has money, but the items are random. A poor person could spend just 50k and get something fabulous, and a rich person could spend 50mil and get crap. It could be the other way around. I dont have alot of money, but what I do have, I will spend it and have fun doing it. It doesnt last just a day, it lasts like two weeks.. So start crafting and selling stuff. You people complain too much about fairness in a game. You blame the company for your being a loser. If you cant take advantage of events like this, and be happy, then you dont need to be playing a game. I never blame the hardcore players for collecting 1mil medals, and me only collect 100. I think they make the events perfectly fair. Its not up to them to make money for you and make you log in. Its up to you.
Good luck!
gm Omega got scammed on PTS and now he needs adena  :p
I wonder how many stilettos he bought. Do you know?
Getting bonus drops during an event for me is a better event than this. This event seems very similar to the in-game lottery, which as all know is extremely popular.
who cares of some poorly designed horns or an ugly mask. my human mystic soon lvl 80 still looks terrible. i prefer spend my hard earned money on quick heal pots and brez then something [censored] i got no use for.
Did you really expect to get one like every other coffer? It's *rare*!
No but 1 out of 400 would have been nice
Nah, 1/1000 sounds fair to me anything less than that would be too exploitable. Pretty much this event is just a money sink. If they would switch mystery pots with ghp/haste 2 pots/ww2 pots and get rid of the fireworks I would be willing to spend more on the event. Overal 250 boxes bought nothing worth mentioning.
500 coffers NO crystal! I thought this event was supposed to help people with lvl 11-12 crystal. Apparently not.
What can I do with all these horns and masks anyway? They are waste of space, worthless and useless. Can I trade these plus the fireworks in for a lvl 12 crystal or something USEFUL?????

Money sink is fun! We should have event like this more often till everyone is broke and quit!

Worst event ever.
spend more.
i spend 5 times what you spent and got 8 crystals. tripled my money back just from sales in 1 hr.

screenshots or it never happen.
I hope spreading false information here is a bannable offence.
Although Elro is being blunt to the point of being rude, he's right. You knew this was a gamble. You probably knew this was a money sink, not a way to flood the market with 11's and 12's.
You are not forced to take this gamble. You could have been sensible and waited until those who have more cash to invest tell you the rough rates.
It's nobody's fault but your own if you spend more than you can afford - I've burned off a few million and will now go back to regularly scheduled money-making. :p
The purpose of including Lvl 11 and lvl 12 crystal in the event description was...?
... to lure fools with no business sense into spending adena on it, obviously.
Some of them got lucky and got more out of it than they invested. Most didn't. That's how a lottery works - or would you buy a few lottery tickets and complain you didn't get the jackpot?
I wish they had included brez and bsoe in the coffers. Also too bad we can't shake the boxes before buying them. You know, like what you do to Christmas gifts.
just thought i'd pop in again and give a big LAWLERBALL to all the people who whined and complained about how they'd NEVER be able to buy enough coffers for a mask and horns.
FIVE BOXES!!!! one mask, one pair of horns, and some fireworks.
/endevent I got what I want.
but.... i suppose i'll buy one box a day till the event ends. Just to help poor omega out. he was the only GM on the PTS who actually seemed to care.....

WE'LL GET YOU OUT BIG GUY!
Still no sight of the undead legion, BTW. I'll keep searching, though. Buying the stuff is useless, but if we can try to free Omega by force, it would be sweet. :)
i wanted to server change so i spent all in the boxes. i had no gear before the event cause i literally sold it ALL.
i started the event with 128m adena. spent every penny on coffers and loaded up my boxed account full of alts and the clan wh before i had to toss a ton of masks and horns into npc shops. later on i will sell masks and horns 500k and make another 100m.
got me 8 crystals, which i set up shop and tripled my money back.
overpriced noobs anyone? 3x stage 11 @30m, 5 x stage 12 @75m = me rich.
point being: i could afford it, i was TRYING TO GO BROKE.
This event is kinda bad. No offence but it doesnt offer alot to any of us. Yea we get the special mask and horns but thats it. The Crystals are better off just being bought from a private store. And The lowlevel toons dont have the money to join in this. You should have put the coffers in mob and let us hunt for them or something not just pay for em... money hardenough to get this event makes it harder for those of us that dont use other means to get money.
What? It offered alot of fun for everyone, fireworks, mystery potions, mask and horns. And in a way that everyone could get them, even newbies (and those who didn't have much money could get the stuff from those who spent alot of money).
How is the crystals better off being bought from a private store? They cost 100+ million there, thats 2,000 chests you could buy instead.
I for one am glad to see an event that doesn't tie into mindless grinding or work for once.
i enjoyed this event, spent 1.2mil (a sixth of my ss/spirit ore money). got a bunch of masks and horns, got plenty of mystery pots and fireworks to last me for awhile. gonna travel to noob areas soon to give out masks.
ill be honest, the ONLY things in this event that are even worthwhile are the accessories and the stage 11/12 crystals. and what do you know, the higher you are and the more money you are, the higher your chances of getting those things. why even bother spending money on this at level, say, 30, when you can buy soulshots instead? this event is total BS, only the farmers and ebayers have any reason to participate in it. fireworks are nice i admit, but mystery potions and having 5 sets of "netherworld accessories" really does suck. if they had thrown in, say, swift attack speed potions/greater acumen potions, this event would freaking rock. hell, l2day scrolls are always a benefit to everyone in the world of l2. fireworks and mystery pots :( sucks :(
low levels are able to participate in a way as the masks and horns are so widely available they are given to them for free. and you seriously think a low level needs to have a lvl 11/12? based on how much u spend can roughly match your level. a lowbie might buy none or 1, someone a bit higher would buy a few fro masks and fireworks. someone at 60-70s would buy a ton for chance at 11/12
I wanted that mask since I ever layed eyes on it, my dwarf girl looks so evil in it with that smile of hers :D, and instead of having to farm hundreds of medals or something similar or spend heaps of adena buying it, I just had to spend 500k for 4 of them, whoo my alts sure are happy now.
I couldn't really care less for the 11/12 soulcrystals.
I think unless you actually have the money now to buy a lvl 11/12 crystal, you should just see it as a way to get the accesories, with the added bonus of playing the lottery for free.
If you actually do have the money to buy one now, you can choose to risk it or not, it might pay off and make you rich, who knows, otherwise in a few months time the masks and horns might turn out to be worth the investment.
If you don't have the money for it now, you really shouldn't complain you didn't get one, because it is a lottery after all and you should never spend more then you can afford (oeing your only weapon anyone?).
About newbs, most people I saw, and that was on the first day of the event were selling horns and masks for 50-100k, now they are properly even more common and apperently sopme people are giving them out for free.
So although 50-100k is quite alot at that certain stage, at least they don't have to risk more then that to get one.
Also the accesories don't give anything extra but looking cool, aswell as all the other prizes excluding the crystals. So if they don't have the money to participate, they do not lose anything.
In terms of accesories this is really much more favoured for newbs then the other ones, hm pay 5-10million for a special hair or mask accesory or pay 50-100k or even get one for free?
A lot times is mentioned benefit of newbies.
What newbies? I dont see a lot new players. Anyway if one start now its to late he will newer get to lvl 70 and up before L3 or something else start.
Can newbies get top gear there with this event to benefit realy from that ?
well note 1/5 for this event, it isn't great at all, i mean mask and horn weeee cool, im not used to rp in l2 so no use of em only 1st day halooooweeeennn, but well make crystal rate around 80.000 box to hope find one isn't great lol, inflation... crystal are too expensive atm , this event should help to lower the price and make ppl able to put SA on their weapon, so why the rate is that high it's ... pfff event in general in NA should be made to controle the inflation, nuubs can't equip their self without buying adena it's stupid... if NC soft can't handle farmers and ebay so just try to controle the inflation with some events, when an item is way too much expensive for players make it dropable from event or such to lower the price, and don't be SM about the rates too...
just an exemple my main has weapon w/o SA my sub also, so soul bow and som without SA, ech crystal stage 12 cost 120 mil, i need 240mil to get 2 crystals... when i saw this event i was pretty happy but with those rates lol i just forgot it with my 17mil edan i spent 6mil on box, i don't have crystal, im ++++poor than before and the most funy thing crystal price didn't drop a cent always 120 mil.
thats was an exemple.....
Yes for some people this event might not do it for them, I don't know maybe you could think about someone else but yourself. Personally I didn't like the medal event and I didn't have the time to participate, but you know alot of people liked it so good for them and any event is always better then none at all, maybe you werent here the first year huh?
nuubs can't equip their self without buying adena it's stupid...
Now see that's a complete lie. I have a lot of low level characters, also on other severs where I do not have a 40+ main. Seeing as my sorc is always broke all of them have made there own money. Low level manor is not being farmed that much and can make you so much money right from level 1, dark elf quests are also great money makers and making a dwarf for Crystals and Dss selling is definetly worth it before you have enough money to play the market.
Now new players who don't want to work have to ebay.
Also you actually expect to get an item for 5% of the price, lol? And again you shouldn't spend more then you can afford.
Also seeing that more then 75% of the L2 population wears some kind of accesorry I'm thinking it's not just for rp...
So ... did we manage to gather enough money? Is Omega free? If (s)he is, where is (s)he? If not, can we finally get on with the business of wiping this undead legion off the face of Aden and Elmore, please? :D
