hmmm..... Gladiators and Tallum Glaive

Today some player was selling Tallum Glaive +6 for 65 mill in Giran.
Normally the price for a Tallym Glaive +0 = 55 mill and like 13-14mill for each +1 = 55+40 mill = 95 mill.
So I decided to buy the Tallum Glaive +3, and then try to resell it for 85-90 mill, that should bring me 20-25 mill in profit.

But then I thought..... "I wonder how well my Gladiator will do with this Glaive, and will it be worth it to put on a Blue-12 to get the wide-blow SA?"

So what is your Gladiator-pole experiences out there?, is it worth keeping (considering the relativily low purchase price) or does a Gladiater get to much "melee-penalty" for using a weapon where he hasent got weapon masteries since lvl35?
I knew something was wrong when I saw +6 TG for 65 mill. ;o
did you buy it :)
I stopped using pole arms since I got dual masteries. But just to test it out, I took a lance to a catacomb to aoe, the damage output and xp per round wasnt as good as using dual sls. But its not +6 so :P I didnt have a TG to try out to compare to my dual keshes so i used be grade instead.
Ok, now I'v tested it a little out in AB... not that AB is the best place, because way to many mobs do hit you at once.

With two groups on me, I can wack them (if they are lined up correct) and only need one heal from my PP+SE after the fight is over. The VR3 returns quite a lot of HP.

With 3-4 groups on me, I need 2-3 heals DURING fight, and if the mobs stun me... it gets quite critical.
Luckily I have my emergency heal macro on my other PC, so I get like 5-7 heals in a row from the same macro.... or else I would get killed :(
Actually I got a little risky and got 5 groups on me, byt thx god, they was all lined up proper and I could wack quite a few at the time.

with my duals and buffed I deal like 250-270 damage pr. swing = ~500-550 damage.
With the TG I deal 360-380 damage pr. swing, but I hit much more mots at the time.
I do not have SA Wide-blow on the TG yet, but it looks like I hit quite a few anyway.

So All-in-all I think using a TG for a Gladiator is actually ok.
An other good thing, is that the "War Cry" skill works on all melee attack, so it does apply extra damage when using pole.
UPDATE.....

When using TG in AB and kill 2-3 groups at the time I got the following XP.
00:29 ... 26,19%
01:02 ... 35,89%
01:30 ... 44,88%

So I get around 18,5%/hour at lvl64->65 ......
When using dual*kesh, nuke, etc. I get around 16-17% so according to this first-time test, the TG give more XP.
Just a side note : When using TG, it can really fast get from good to bad :(
I think 2-3 times I got 5-6 groups pulled and I got all the way down to less then 150 HP, and just barely survived.
When using the Sonic Storm/buster/dual wacking method of XP'ing, I almost NEVER get in troublems.

.... but then again... using pole on the edge of panic, some how makes it all much more fun... more exiting :)
Hehe kinda "dangerous" tryouts tend to be more fun than "safe" exp
Don't get wideblow. Especially since you don't have full polearm masteries, your aoe cap is quite low, and WB would be pretty pointless. Once you know how to line mobs up, the angle is not an issue. You can easily get 40 mobs to stand in the exact same spot. When I pick up loot after an aoe my character just stands in place like a woodpecker.

If your gladiator is 64, the first rooms of necro of devotion should be perfect. No stuns, no casters/archers, no physical resist. With VR and focus+dw, you shouldn't need heals.
Ok, I was there... but sadly almost 80% of the rooms was already occupied... by, hmmmm, well you know who dsfggdg, erwtewrte,IIUfjewj4, ewjkfl34DSFwri and WERTWtkl44RR :(

Do you think ToI also is a good place?, because its just up the road from here in Ancient Battleground?.

Do you think ToI also is a good place?

not in my oppion. they have stuners and mages there in plenty.

you could try maybe seal of shilen if you want to stay out of the catas. lost of mobs there 2 of them are argo.

but the doom knights stun, they are weak to holy tho which is good...but you'd have to heal often.

fields of massicure have group mobs but I think one of them stun.

giants cave is a excelent place to pole....I remember doing that on erica with my mage and a WL once, preatty good XP. mobs respawn fast decent quest, and adena drops not SS.

possibly need to watch out for the mages and 1 or 2 of them stun if I remember right.
yeah poling is fun, fast, and hella risky but No Pain, No Gain :), since you dont have the polemasteries i think you'd be better off getting the healthboost on the TG if i remember correctly TG doesnt have critstun SA which i'd normally recommend to a non poler class with a high critrate. But yeah, SA health would give you a nicer margin on the health for the AB groupmobs ;)
Well i wish i was so lucky for aoe xp but the lack of hp in BDs makes it impossible...
You dont have to be the actual poler in a poleparty as a BD... i'd love to have BD dances available when i go poling :)
