Now that my main is approaching A grade and I'd like an A grade weapon even if I can't afford the armour, I've decided to concentrate on levelling my dorf alt. As lvl 20 is approaching, I'd like to know which is best purely from a money making sense.
Would a Scavenger spoiling items to sell make me more money, or would an Artisan crafting items and crystalising stuff make me more?
As I said, I'm only really interested in their money-making potential and not their skills or playstyle, as they won't be my main.
yeah i am artisan(soon to be WS) and i sugest you to make spoiler . To mush artisan in Franz and to low spoilers. The need of mats is atm so big.
And if with artisan you will first spend a lot time to buy all mats and recipes then crafting with seconds and again you need to spend time to sell. But spoiler only sells stuff. As half time from arti.
And if you think that spoiling takse time to then you should take it as lvling your char as artisan does this just for lvling buy spoiler gets something usefull.
Scavenger for sure.
There is no money make as artisan, without investing lot of time, money and effort in it.
yeah
from 20-60 you make more adena on a scav (yet to see the high lvl money makeing abilities of a ws myself)
but truth is any class can make more adena than a dwarf but not every person can
I'd say scavenger. PleChan has both, his bounty hunter is our cash machine.
The problem with artisan/warsmith is that you really need to dominate a niche market to really make a lot of cash. If you are the very first warsmith to be able to craft a particular (desired) recipe, you can make an absolute killing. However competition, and especially craft shops, drive those prices down very fast. And the recipe costs on some high-end items are so high that you need an absurd number of clicks to break even.
You can still make money on an artisan, if you can get a niche (for example, if you're "the plated leather guy") but it can be hard to really earn like before.
You can make a profit on shots, but it's a very long time of clicking and crafting. There's still money to be made on warsmiths but it's not as much. Ours is mostly used for our own shot production.
The bounty hunter can make a more stable profit and they can make profit while hunting; although you can craft shots while hunting too.
What I've been thinking is maybe I could use the mats and recipes collected by my higher level chars (including my 5x BD) to give to my artisan alt. Would that work or do I need a scavenger to collect recs/mats that only can be gotten from spoiling to make anything profitable?
Warsmith afk craftingmoney is crap unless you craft top A and S gear, which is 62 and above, making money in the process to get to 62+ is even worse than crap, lol. Scavvy, without a single shadow of a doubt
What I was thinking of was that I'd use all the mats my other toons have collected and are still collecting (even if I have to buy some recipes) and then either sell the items or crush them and sell the crystals.
Biggest prob with a WS is you have to already have money to really make money for them, a scavy/bh doesn't suffer from that. You can make money without any initial investment other than regular gear with a BH.
