My guess would be that we get the full patch once the Omega event is over. Someone asked if we would see this in the next Maintainace and it was stated (by Mistryl I belive) that they wish to test things a bit further on the PTS first. Although...that might have been said before last week's Maintainance. Can't seem to find that post now either >.<

It was two weeks of testing, and the two weeks are up :p
I'm hoping we get the patch, I'm looking forward to the no drop on death bit. That's the only thing in the game that makes me nervous when I see a chaotic nearby - my stuff cost me a lot of Adena, I can't afford it again.
Once the patch is in place - REDS BRING IT ON!!!!!

Oh ok I always thought that it was marginally possible to do so. I know recently I was in a raid party that was attacked by a red and one of the party dropped his sheild. Having said that the RB was running all over the place so maybe he was killed by that. The red was in the same spot so maybe it just looked that way and the red got lucky
Either way I'm still looking forward to the patch because no matter who I drop my stuff to I still can't afford to replace it :)
Since early in the game you've never been able to drop if a player got the last hit. That said, I have dropped in PvP when a player has taken me low and a mob got last hit.
Only mob deaths I've had in months, though, were disconnect or lag related. And I hate the idea of loss of gear to a stupid disconnect.
It really sux, 3 days ago I was really stupid and left my Kesh*kesh+4 in my inventory while using my Tallum Glaive.
Sadly the **** mob groups stunned me, and my heal macro could not catch up = I died.... and guess what was left on the ground :(
Yes, my kesh*kesh+4 :(
So I was in a really hurry to switch to my PP, get him to pick it up and use return-2.
It's kind a strange, I haven't died with my Gladiator since ... lvl 58-49 or so, and the first thing he drops is the most valuable item :)
So I'm just saying "ARE WE LEARNING YET???? .... at least until the patch :) "
So I got it back, but HEY thats part of fun playing with a pole on a none-pole class (Gladiator) :)
And thus ends Lineage 2.. was a good game till this patch...
I have to say, though I like this patch, it does change the character of the game a bit.
In some ways the game is still "hardcore" but this does soften it around the edges.
I can completely understand why some players would be ****** at this.
It would be as if you joined a game that had consensual pvp and a somewhat moderate death penalty only to have the developers make it open pvp and add dropping and looting of corpses.
NC needs to be careful because they don't want to alienate the population that really likes this type of game.
Unless they want to make a kinder and gentler game. However, they should have done that in the first place. What they could/should have done is made L3 a more user friendly game.
As I've said, I have no complaints about this patch. But there are people who are not going to be happy and rightly so.
Yeah I can't wait for the new patch. Being a dagger, I used to carry around a bow as well, well until I dropped it on death to a mob. Soloing in areas with alot of aggro can be deadly, to me anyways.
Am also SLOWLY saving up for an A grade helmet. If I ever dropped that on the ground while out XP'ing, I don't know if I would ever recover from it. This may be an unseen blow to the bots as well. I have heard of alot of "Legit" players dropping a weapon/armour that they saved for months/years on. The only way they could recover, and stay in game was to go out and buy the adena to get their stuff back.
I am also liking this patch, as it makes my Perma-red bot-killer worthwhile again. Until recently, the only satisfaction I had was maybe getting the bots to use an extra pot or 2, then have them out of commission for a while. Now I am hoping (not quite sure how this patch works yet, hoping you also get debuffs from player deaths, not just mob deaths) that I can kill them until they can no longer properly fight in an area, and keep dying to mobs, thus costing the bot owners a ton of adena to get them back to to being able to go out and bot.
I just did the usually "make a copy of your PTS folder and copy lineageII.exe + patchw32.dll and run update trick.
1-2 minutes later.... update is finished :)
