All dual daggers would mean for dagger users would be slower skill cooldown and a marginal increase in damage per stab (in my experience it's not made too much of a difference if someone was slapping me around with a Demon Sword or a Crystal Dagger... it just ... hurts).
I don't think ayone would honestly use them for PvP. I'd love a high-crit dual weapon for my elfie for PvE, though. :D
considering a dagger cant even use a shield why would they be able to start wielding two daggers? Besides, only way I would agree with dual daggers is if they did overall less damage than a one handed dagger or did more swing damage but less crits. If they do get dual daggers it wont make daggers any better because they already crit a ton and most dagger owners will probably just be mad because they were just expecting to crit twice as much and will throw a fit.
I see daggers fine as it is, good class good skills good damage why mess around with it?
I've seen dual daggers on less-than-offical servers before. All it was was a shield with low Pdef and no Evasion decrese. Not terribly useful but it does look neat.
The only time I've seen it "mentioned" before was in that movie between the "girl" LE and the DE female.
It's not, I've looked at it alot and it's just extremely stylized Dual Swords.
I noticed that some character modles hold one dual right side up and the other dual down.
I just wish that the daggers would hold the dagger upside down like people who actually use daggers do IRL.
All two-handed weaons (2h blunts, staves, 2h swords, duals) with one handed equivalents follow the same rules: Slower swingspeed than their crit brethern, higher PAtk, same everything else.
I honestly think the slower swingspeed would be enough to deter most dagger users, since it's so significant a drop for other weapons - around 16%, that's more than level 1 haste!
Dagger users themselves aren't so big on PAtk. The ones who primarily stand to profit from two-handed daggers would be mystics, namely summoners and healers, and maybe WCs/OLs who are into daggers for the critting rather than the excellent Soulcry damage fast-swinging weapons would provide.
Hmm why are alwas people rot in time i think duel daggers are a cool idea and i never toched a dagger ones why do i care if player x like duel daggers instant of a single dagger ?????
i care more for new art, weapons armor in the game instant of just change rules or add a few more meters in landscape
what do i need with more land if the game is the same as few years back
I'm not sure if NCsoft will do this. I have read somewhere that there will be more weapons like Zariche in the future. So why no Demonic Dual Daggers? :D
dual daggers? gimme dual poles.. no wait people will say its impossible to use two poles as its a twohanded weapon... ok so why does pikemen successfully wield a pole along with a shield? just make 'em shorter :) anyways screw poles.. lemme use dual blunts then :p

Shorter poles are spears, you don't have "spear proficiencies" do you?
And dual blunts is a rediculous idea. They'd be to heavy and the swing speed would be attrocious.
Dual daggers are feasable.

You're formulating it all wrong.
It's "HAY i saw dis movie were dis girl was useing duel dagers and we dident get duel dagers in the new patch dis is a complete ripoff GG NCSOFT ull never haev my monay agen"
Also:
ok so why does pikemen successfully wield a pole along with a shield?
A pikeman can by far not use a shield. This (http://janusmuseum.org/panabasis/venne01.jpg) is a pikeman wielding a pike.
A "pointy stick with metal on it" isn't necessarily a polearm or spear. They're widely different. Some are single handed, some are two handed, some are thrown, some have a specific martial art meant to be used just for that spear. Saying you can just use a shield with any of them is a bit silly.
While the spears in L2 are hugely unrealistic, the way you wield them is by slashing. If you're going to be slashing with dual spears you might as well be using swords.
Screw dual daggers, if you'll pardon the ole bluntness.
What I want to see is Sword and Dagger duals- like the dirks used in RL by the Scots for hundreds of years. Yeah sure this game is a far cry from real life n all, but if we're in the realm of suggesting dual anythings, it should be Dagger & Sword combos ^^
Dual Blunts is not rediculous. If you read a bit of the east history... you will notice since the ancient the chinese people used dual blunts. Basically, they heavy at front and round with pointed blade sticking out - some dont have blade... They used by strong warrior. Go check out some Kung Fu school in your area. I am sure you will see some of them as well. Maybe you are too weak to use it any way.. hehehe :)
Dual daggers would be nice
pole arms are a spear/axe weapon for multi encounters they where very efficent vs horse riders while they still have can fight normaal fighters
so no pole-arms is inposable to have 2 of them in your hand sinds it's real is a 2 handed single weapon most axes are to to heavy to have it dueled with a light weapon but the standard axe Tomahawk sud have been dueled
and yes duel daggers is very common combo becose you block with 1 dagger and try to stab your opoment with the other dagger
and no axes are not a blunt weapon 0.o
actually axes Are blunt weapons as they lack the 'cutting' edge of a sword and do more crunching damage rather than slicing and piercing damage, and its rediciousus to dual them? hell there are 1hand axes that are designed to be used alongside one of its brother they are lighter than a sword so shouldnt two swords be more impossible to dual up then axes?
its all in how they are balanced.. easy shaft, heavy head gives the swinging momentum needed to penetrate the flesh and crunch the bones underneath as well as giving a bleeding damage incase the hit isnt that greatly aimed.
The only difference between a mace and an Axe is that an axe has the blunted edge to also penetrate the flesh easier and make deeper bleeding damages, maces are (clean or spiked) designed only to smash your bones to pieces and in its sheer power it cracks the skin open but not all the time either, not to easier slice through your flesh.
Axes and maces or just about any ordinary stick or club that has a heavy head is just as feasable to combine as two daggers or two swords. Poles arent? that is true but short spears are.. what do you get if you cut off a few feet from a poles handle? yes thats right, a shortspear, lol, here a lance is considered a poleweapon as much as a halberd when halberd is the true pole per se and a lance is a speartype weapon.
Halberd is an axe with a really long handle and a pike up front and thats what typically defines a poletype weapon.. the ability to spear something aswell as swing and chop the head off at a few meters away making enemies keep their distance, spearweapons such as lances are (if they are what they're supposed to be and not mixed up as they are in this game) are supposed to only have the penetrative effects, thus you basically only thrust it forward and that can be done with 1 hand as you use a shield in the other and violá you got your average pikeman excellent against heavy and light cavalry attacks.
Cut off a few feet and give him two spears and you could get a pikeman thats more moveable and can thrust his weapons twice incase the other gets stuck or parreyed or parrey with one and attack with the other, it would be excellent against heavy armored foot forces that use the strategy to push the enemy back with a wall of shields, though they dont historically exist like that while everything else actually does though, lol.
Theoretically its still feasable but would likely to be gimp still but anyone using a pole in PvP is gimped anyway, WL's suck, dorfs suck, destro's go for their twohand swords when PvP'ing mostly, lol, but none the less it would still be theoretically feaseable and would require a completely different battling technique.
Claymores on a sidenote are an exception btw, they are still shaped and balanced like a sword but much longer and heavier than a 1handed version and the edge is more blunted than a normal sword since it relys on its heavy swingingmomentum to smash its foes to pieces rather than to chop their heads clean off without them even noticing.
Screw it all, gimme dual twohanders! And before you all jump at me, consider this. WE orcs are da big, strong race. WE orcs should be able to swing a sword with just one hand that a puny human or a frail elfy needs two hands to use. So, following this, all the "twohanders" should be onehanders for orcs ;) Gimmeh dual Dragonslayers, thats the equivalent of dual sls on humans or elfys.
Har har, ok, to the point: Dual daggers isnt a ridiculous idea as long as it would be balanced properly. And why should it be only dual daggers? Why not dual axes/maces or blunt+sword or blunt+dagger or dagger+sword? There would be so much more variety in the weaponry if you could actually combine them together and its also realistic. A long dagger alongside a sword is not an uncommon thing nor is an axe+sword combo.
Imho, this whole topic has strayed into something that should be in the suggestions forum ^^

lol Yes it has... but yeah a sword and a dagger in the offhand was a popular choice during those times, a sword gets clumbsy and awkward when a foe gets too up close and personal, where a dagger was sooo much better to use, thus they actually dualwielded both, lol, one to **** away at the enemy and the other to keep the enemy at a good hacking range lol
