* Halloween spawns will reach a crescendo on Tuesday, Oct 31 with a
variety of Halloween Event "Boss" monsters.
* Halloween specific items will drop from a variety of NPCs, such as
candies and pumpkins. The candies will all have a random effect.
* Bronze, silver, and gold pumpkins can be "opened" for a special
prize! (Silver are better than bronze, gold are better than silver).
* Several restricted or limited "costumes" or polymorph options will
be available, such as the Vampire morph.

Summary:
Omega, a skilled and experienced fighter, has been captured by the leader of
an undead legion of warriors. The leader of the undead has demanded a ransom
for the return of Omega, and Omega's faithful servant has traveled to the
villages of Aden and Elmore to gain support for the return of her master.
Coffer of Shadows
For a fee of 50,000 adena, you can purchase a Coffer of Shadows from Omega's
Cat. These mysterious containers can reveal Demon Horns or the Mask of
Spirits, special head accessory items from the netherworld. The coffer might
also reveal a Mystery Potion, Firecrackers, or a Large Firecracker.
Extremely lucky adventurers might also find a stage 11 or 12 Soul Crystal

Meh...The L1 event sounds like last years L2 Halloween event to me. Nice to have a lil change of pace IMO
Well.. I don't remeber that event dropping pumpkins of different colors.. We got nectar, and bought the pumpkins. And there were no mob spawns, boss-mobs or otherwise. No candies either.
Well ... let's just hope they actually do something with this undead legion from the L2 event. Like invading Aden and Rune at the same time, for example.
Lol at you people that would sooner pay 50k to open a box for some frankly pap stuff. The event last year actually gave useful money making items and the one with the bosses like the one described for L1 above was the best so far.
Why don’t they make a Halloween event where Ghosts wander the land. More than the bunnies but not so much where you can’t throw a stick without hitting one. You speak to the Ghost and if the ghost is a beneficial ghost you get some sort of reward (masks, horns, scrolls, whatever).
If the ghost is not a beneficial ghost it attacks you. Maybe you get double or triple xp for those. And if you die to it you might only get a small amount of xp loss but also some sort of special items as a “mark of the occult”.

If by change of pace, you mean recycle an event that South Korean L2 had a couple months ago in support of their soccer team in the World Cup, then yes, it is definately a change of pace.
Sorry, but yea, the event this year was crappy at best. It would be diffrent if you didnt only have to buy 5 box's to get both accessory items, and then you could atleast TRY to make some money out of it, or trade for something useful. I'm all for novel and diffrent event idea's, but try harder next time.
I don't know why people are so upset, jeez, I liked it, it was really nice to have something thats a different pace instead of "OMG, NEED TO GINDZ" events. I liked a casual event where everyone could get something.

We are so used to unimaginative quests, events and content that we just sit back and take it with a smile.
I don't think the old Halloween event was all that much better. Or any event for that matter. A brain dead chipmunk could come up with better event ideas that NC. But I basicaly bought accessories from an NPC. Thats not an event, its a gift. And I certainly appreciate gifts, but lets not act like its gonna be 14 days of fun.

It was a change of pace for 2 seconds, and then the event no longer existed, unless you wanted to spend 100mil on boxes to try and get crystals. I'm not upset, I dont care either way, but, it was still unimaginitive. All this last update, and last event are, were ways to get the over-abundance of adena out of the game.

I got the mystery pots. Wheee made my head big. If I really wanted that I would just go up to Hot springs. This event sucked and was a waste of cash. The masks and horns are not worth it, and has anyone gotten a soul crystal out of it yet?

And I was disappointed that the only thing we got was the coffers actually. I played twice just for kicks and got 10 firecrackers and mystery potions. I got 10 sets of horns and 10 masks from someone who didn't want theirs and have been giving them away :)
What is everyones problem with this event?
So I spent several mil on boxes, that's nothing for me and I got several crystals, which sold in minutes.
And it's a hell of a lot cheaper than trying to buy new accessories for the ridiculous prices they go for.
The goggles and cap set for for 20mil. Can you imagine how much the horn and mask set would go for if it wasn't as common as it is?
Enjoy the new accessories. compared to the other accessories, they were practically free so stop whining about the non-farmer prices you got them for.
If you want the L1 event then play L1...it is quite simple...
We have had events like this, except for maybe the polymorph costume things.
The point of the L2 holloween event wasn't to give everyone a stage 12 or 13 soul crystal. It was to get 'something' like a mask or other 'strange' item. It says you have to be VERY lucky to get the soul crystals. So get over it, you aren't lucky...and you spend 38423020983280 million adena and are very sad. Guess you got tricked, without your treat! I am happy I got 8 masks and 10 horns and 50+ mystery pots and 50 fireworks that I lit all over town... I spend 2-3mil or something, but no one forced me, and I am not mad I didn't get a crystal...I don't get mad over that...I get mad when I fail my DC helm craft.... :mad:
I agree though, it would have been fun to actually do something... Maybe their is going to be a surprise at the end.
It's all about having fun. Gathering up random people to do spontanious raids is fun. Getting pked by an invincible GM dressed as a Death Knight is fun. Chasing him and rabidly attacking him despite knowing how futile it really is was fun. Having them spawn 100 lvl 7x mobs spawn outside of Giran while 1000 people fight them and each other over a few drops is fun. Opening a handful of boxes two minutes after logging in is not fun. It wouldn't matter if I got a lvl 12 crystal each time.... I would still rather do the Dafstin event.
Their problem is that it isn't a "get rich quick" event.

You can assume that everyone who doesn't like the event was out for personal gains if you want.
I personaly logged in expecting NC to stick it to us and make the masks and horns really hard to get. Making them worth a lot of cash. I was very happy to find that they were very easy to get and that everyone would be able to get them for nearly nothing. And that the event wouldn't be just another opertunity for people to turn a profit.
But just because it was a delightful non-profit freebee does not make it fun.
Im not itching to put aside class work to log in and shoot some fireworks. I won't have any fond memories of getting my accessories. I didn't spend any more than a few minutes doing anything out of the routine.
If someone came up and handed you a snickers bar, it might make ya happy, it might be cool, but I'd rather get dressed up and go to a party, or trick or treating.
Going out with friends dressed up as your favorite character, hanging out for a night, and getting some candy is "fun".
Going to the store to buy a piece or even a bag of candy is pleasing, but its not "fun"
