I like to ask them what is your stance to so called dual boxing!
As i see this is allowed or not! You can not stop it anways if the players have different accounts for that, but if they are on one account! I myself have 2 accounts and use them both at the same time, i did not see anything about this in the EULA! So i use it.
Allowed or not. Will it be like this forever? I know many will get mad about this ,me telling or even haveing the guts to talk about it. I allready see PMs coming you want!!! BEcause most play many accounts at the same time. Reason is not enough players ingame- like buffers healers. Game needs major improvements to make dual/triple whatever boxing not neccesary.
I can't possibly see how duel boxing is a problem. It's not a third party programme nor is it botting. I've had two on at once. Sometimes I have them together as a fighter and buffer combo and other times I have one character fighting and when that one needs regen I change screens where I have my other character who is fishing or one fighting, the other crafting etc.
Yes I understand that point of view but this isn't always the case. I personally can't play a healer and a spellcaster at the same time if I am in a party situation, especially raids. If I have macros set up they stop when I change screens so I have to play one or the other. I have taken my healers on numerous parties and raids playing only that character.
It's not against the EULA, if it was I*m sure they would have done something towards it about it by now.
Secondly, I'm happy I got my healer, as theres so many times groups puts together and we find no healer at all ^^, of course theres times there is healers and well yeah then we take em :P
Seen Healer LFG! No on invites because they allready got their own.
Seen group LF Healer getting turned down because of imperfect setup too many times to feel sorry for healers. ^_^ Get a clan, stop being picky about the groups, make friends, and voila - no problem!
hmm changing screens doesnt affect my macros, weird.
are you /macro -change screens- do something then change back to screen with macro running ? cause that would be the only time it would stop the macro that i am aware of. unless your using something other than your mouse to switch screens.
i dont see a problem with dual boxing. many parties would prefer a live healer instead of a 2 box, especially for higher level parties. no one wants to be in FoG with a 2 boxed healer.
GAME SUGGESTION:We need a healer and buff NPC that taggs along wiht you. And you have to pay it. Not mega expensive, like different prices for diff levels. I hate to dualbox but if all do it wht else is there to do,just go with the trend and again more money for youknowwhoiamtalkingabout :)
But are the players happy,do you like to box? NOP!

make sure you play with both screens minamalized
alt-tab usually breaks macros
how can it be illegal since the player doesnt use 3rd party progs?
and why should be bad to have more than 1 accounts?
more accounts, more money to nc
more accounts, more live a server can be
more accounts, gameplay and player's economy is much better, easier, faster BUT costs more.
what is the problem if i want to pay 2-3-4-..... accounts instead of 1 and be as independent as can be?
I think the problem is that players can't level as quickly as they would like without the buffs as well as find it hard to solo.
I have a second account just for a SO at lvl 25 to give me emp 1. That's "just enough" to give me the edge to solo without having to resort to 3 shotting.
And quite frankly (and I know that others might disagree) I can't see why anyone would want to play a buffer or healer in this game. As a buffer you are just a battery. At least as a healer you have use in larger parties or raids (and supposedly in pvp with their new skills?). But people tend to look at healers as sort of 2nd class citizens in this game. I even remember one poster stating that Bartz was "carebear" in pvp because they used too many healers.
I mean, what's up with that!
I have to say I like the way they did healers in Guild Wars. Still less of them than people would like but they are still sought after, are very very active during pvp and can dish out some damage.
But people tend to look at healers as sort of 2nd class citizens in this game.
It all comes back down to the ridiculous DPS in PvP that overall boosts have created - as far as PvE goes, I've honestly always thought of the healer as the most important class, which is why I finally made one.
It's been incredible for me as a usually-soloer who has to rely on pots, battleheals, a cubic that always seems to be on evasion and smart toggling of TP to just be able to pull 12, 14 mobs on me and knowing I won't die - all because someone has my back.
I still suck massively as a healer, but I'm aiming to improve (although at my clan's insistance any more practice in dangerous situations has to wait until my res% is higher :p ), and I honestly still can't imagine being "only another DDer".
It's been answered before. Feel free to 2 box, 3 box, 9 box all you want. So long as you are not employing any third party programs or tampering with the client, that's your call.
If you want to pay for 2 or more accounts, that is your right and prerogative and anyone who doesn't like it can take a flying leap.
I personally do not 2 box. I don't have the spare dough, the extra computer or the ability to do that with any reasonable rate of success. That said, I don't hold it against the people who can and do.
So to the OP, relax dude. It's fine, dual box all you want, just do it legit. To the haters, go develop your own game, get it published and enforce your own EULA. UNtil then, SHADDAP!
Q: If I purchase another game account, can I use both accounts at the same time?
A: Yes. If you own more than one game account, then you may use both freely at the same time. Ideally, Lineage II should be run by itself, and running two clients on the same computer can put a lot of strain on your system's resources. While this style of play is not against our rules, it is not supported and any loss generated as a result of this may not be reversible by the Lineage II Support Team.
A second option for running two accounts that has been used by players is having two different computers run separate clients side by side. Again, this style of play is not recommendedas you will have to split your attention while playingbut it is not against our rules.
As always, the use of third-party software to automate game play on any of your accounts is a violation of the User Agreement, and may result in the permanent closure of your accounts.
ok, it's just that in the past Gameguard prevented me opening two instances of the game (saying that it already detected the game running), when I double-clicked twice by mistake
I usually get one character fully logged in and sat down (otherwise they occasionally do a runner whilst I'm opening the other one) before I open the second screen. Usually works without problems.
I am not sure, if this is the case of the poster who claimed that his macros break when he switches between accounts, but I have the same issue. The problem isn't realted to the alt-tab of switching between windows. When I dual box, I actually dual box. Have a second (very crappy) computer that I am suprised even runs the game. To switch between the chars, I have to hit <scroll lock> twice, to switch computers on the KVM switch. This breaks my macro everytime.
GameGuard is supposed to prevent our animatronic friends from accessing the game.
Since when?
/3 box
Since never, but that was the idea anyway.
Of course, the fact that our artificially unintelligent friends had already broken GameGuard before it was introduced on NA sort of made that entire idea silly.
Wasn't that what we were told gameguard would do, when it was introduced?

Breaking News: Lineage 2 Hackers Buy the Farm
NCsoft just shut the door on Lineage 2 hacking, at least for now. The latest Lineage 2 patch, sent out last night, included a copy of GameGuard. The anti-hacking program does a quick check when you try to log into the server and if you re planning running any hacks or bots in the background it won t let you in.
I had a quick chat with Aaron Rigby, NCsoft s North American producer for Lineage II, this afternoon about the new program.
Rigby said the biggest problem Lineage II was having was with people who use programs to automate their characters in small hunting areas. These bots would sit in a cave or along a forest path killing all of the creatures respawning in the area. The problem was, he said, that if you happened by, you became the next target.
Player versus player is fine, he said. But you don t have a chance against a terminator.
These bots would sometimes hunker down in crossroads critical to traveling in the game, in essence bottlenecking the game. Rigby hopes that GameGuard will put an end to that, and as of this morning it seemed to be working. Rigby hopped onto the game and checked out some of the regular bot haunts and found them free and clear.
One thing GameGuard won t do, Rigby added, is autoban peoples' accounts.
It s not about auto-banning the accounts, he said. It s about making sure that players are going to run Lineage II without a hacking program running in the background.
Not that NCsoft is opposed to banning people who fragrantly cheat or harass other players. Since the Lineage II launch in North America, about 4,000 accounts have been shut down and a team of NCsoft gamers are constantly hunting down cheaters and hackers.
