I got like 8 Horns...no masks. But then found a mask on the ground. I didn't care about everything else...except maybe the soul crystals, but what I really wanted was that mask. I know, I know, call me weird... :eek:
ive spent ALL my adena almost 30 mill, that was my chance of EVER getting a stage 11 or 12 crystal, instead i got JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK and more JUNK, i think this is the WORST event ever that NC crew made up. For once, it costs 50k to get a box, and you only get junk for it???? These events makes alot of players quitting the game, INSTEAD of WOHOO i got some nice things like maybe hp pots or swift pots or quick healing pots, but NO NO NO, the want us to quit...
Many people are addicted to the game, and when an oppertunity like this occur, then people are goin to take chances. I did and now im forced AGAIN to reroll...
Restrain yourself man. If I had 30 million after spending about 15 million of that I would decide to quit. No one made you spend 30 mil. thats just insanity!
sorry but its definitly your own fault if you spent all your 30 mils in a gambling game and lost all, you cant really complain since you knew the risk.
gambling is well.... gambling, so if you spend all your money on that, then I would say it wasent smart.
I personally NEVER buy items and stuff for all my money... because if I did, I would not have anyone left to earn money with.

glad to hear the mask and horns are so easy to get as I don't have that much money to spend on this and my only real goal was the horns :). I guess I'll probably spend 150k or 200k to give the lvl 12 crystal a chance :). Maybe I get really really lucky. :D

The rate on witch the crystal is "dropped" is AS ALWAYS to low, ive read about drops in another thread, as one there ive only got cgrade drop, NEVER any bgrade drops........ the drop rate is toooo low....but they want us to go grind for 5-7 month more to gain adena, and then they will do an event like this again and ppl will loose there adena again....

ROFL! Your killin me here. Never did they guarantee you anything if you spent 30 mil. You took a risk now you need to deal with it. I live in New Mexico. We have a casino on every street corner. I dont go in there and spend all my money though.

lvl 12 crystal is 115 mil on Lionna. If i got a single crystal by spending that much (alas if i had the money or the courage) i'd have made money. If i could easily get one by spending 30 mil then i could make outragous amounts of money. It's a gamble and you lost.
I spent 50k. The moment I logged in, I saw a person selling 3 masks/horns (obviously easy to get), so I thought, what the hell, I'll try my luck. Got horns. I'd rather have a mask, but I figure I'll be able to find one for cheap later.
Like I wrote in another thread I have not spent a single adena on this event. Did I get horns and mask, lol sure I did. People tried to get some "uber" reward and got unlucky. Basically they handed the mask/horns out so voila.
100k Got 6 mystery pots.. Used one then sold the other at 1000a each ;p
And I got mask and horn from some guy who was shouting he gives them free..

Yea when I got my 8 horns it was weird, got 5 of them in a row...lol. But I couldn't get a mask, but I found one on the ground so I was super happy. I really like those masks, I think they look pretty **** cool.
Remember back in c3 ppl use to pay upwards of 1mil for a blue party mask?
And it isn't events like this that make ppl quit. There is a difference between gambling and buying. If you spent 30mil (or all your money) and were just wanting a stage 12 crystal, make sure that you tell that person not to gamble in RL...cause they just might quit at that too...
I am gonna save some of those horns, so a few months down the road I can sell them to ppl that missed the event. :p
I'd have blown more if this didn't come on the heels of the medal event.
Got a level 12 and a level 11 by buying medals, hunted about 1/5 of what I needed then bought the other 4/5 (no gambling necessary and I got them at half the server price at the time).
After the medals, don't have much need. Got my horns and mask. I wish there'd be another uncommon but good reward apart from SA crystals -- e.g. enchant armor/weapon of various grades (maybe blessed enchants very rarely). I don't need any soul crystals and I think the market for selling them will be pretty poor for quite a while as the medal event pumped a lot into the economy.
Heh, yay for waiting for feedback until buying mine. =) I think I'll buy a few and hope to get lucky, if not, at least I'm guaranteed the cutest horns ever for Logi, and possibly even a spiffy mask for the SE.

I plopped down 5M adena. Gambling purely for the sake of gambling. Don't need the SA crystals (have my toons all suited and booted already). I just wanted the party favors -- like the mask -- and to say that I won the nigh-impossible.
Well I never got the crystal, but had about 2 hours worth of fireworks, mystery pots that were sold back to the NPC shop, and more masks and horns then I knew what to do with. I'll keep some of the masks to sell a year from now when they'll be rare.
Otherwise if you happen to be one of the blokes that took up my offer of FREE MASKS AND HORNS FOR A REC, then you had excellent timing. No point in bleeding the masses for what is clearly a ploy to absorb some of the excess adena/wealth from the game.
It occured to me that this event doesn't help noobs at all, so I dropped quite a few of the masks and horns in noob villages.
If anyone from NCSoft is reading this, here's a thought. Instead of practically giving away the masks, horns, fireworks and pots, why not add more rare items to this event...say, robes, or capes, or dyes that change the color of your armor? Or potions that alter your character's attributes to match any other race and class? A dark elf mage with an Orc fighter's mohawk. A dwarf with a dark elf's blue skin. A human female mage with a dark elf female's physique. Ok, maybe I've gone too far with that last one. But you get the point. Customizable and unique (relatively) is what we're shooting for.

lol sorry but its still not NC softs fault, its ur own fault. 30m in coffers if 30m is all you have, isnt a good strategy in making money.
spent a mil before i went to ch and seen a few hundred masks and ears on the ground
got a few fireworks and mystery pots and if i sold back all the pots i'd get back 200k
not sure what the odds are of getting a crystal but it might actually be cost effective
I was very lucky, spent 5mil, got
1 lvl 11 crystal
14 masks (kept one for each alt, gave the rest away in noob villages)
19 horns (kept one for each alt, gave the rest away in noob villages)
220 small firecrakers (spent a few, gave the rest away in noob villages)
90 large firecrakers (kept a few, sold the rest for whatever adena I could get)
48 pots (sold 'em all for 4k each)
Not even sure you can call it an event but its the worst NCSoft have done for some time. Its the sort of event I'd expect from Wemade on the old 2d Legend of Mir.

I sold a bunch of SA crystals that I had from the pumkin event a few days before C5 and bought 10 mil worth of boxen. No SA crystals, but setting off fireworks at the same time as a whole bunch of other people was fun. ^^

Well my friend, that's simple. That's simply because everyone or a lot of people expect that everytime NC releases an Event, that several hundred million adena will simply fall in their lap ^^
Since that doesn't happen, some of the people who blow all their funds on this event and end up flat broke come back here to cry and whine how it's NC's Fault for making them waiste all their adena or how items might break going +4 ^^

technically as a money sink you could get a sa crystal for evey 5 million spent and still pull tons out of the econemy (since sa crys are consumed and have no real value)

However most people always forget that the rule of probability that gurantees that the penny will land on heads 50% of the time only gurantees it when the number of tosses starts to get close to infinity. So even if the Devs programmed it so that you have an x chance in y tries to get the SA, it doesn't mean squat unless you are extremely lucky or have a lot of spare money :D.

probability asside the % chance of getting a sa crystal is prolly hard coded so therefore nc would have assigned a value to sa crystals fo this event
weither odds are you get one is 1 in 100 mil or 1 in 1 billion we will never know but for a certain amount of adena spent you are meant to get a crystal
Well, believe it or not, I only meant to spend 5 or 6mil, but the urge got to me. I really wanted a cheap level 12 crystal but in the end I wasted about 28mil :( I'm done, I swear. I can live another few months without an SA on my Soul Separator.
By the way, I swear I was cursed by wearing the horns and mask after, because later on I failed 2 Doom boots and B grade duals going to +4.
