THanks NC....
I sound like a worssy or carebear huh? Well honestly, i love tihs game and i am working so some day to be up there with the vets and seige castle. Items are wicked expensive in game so that would help elliminate the heartache and pain. It also prevents players from leaving game. We need more players. Eventime someone loses something valuable duo to death, we lose a player and/or a friend. Thank you NC. You make the right move. :)
I'd much rather have a chance to drop an item, since I'm always surrounded by people I trust ^.^ I almost never drop anything anyway.
Plus, RGIs are gonna be running around in top gear now and farming twice as fast. Being able to train them was one of the only ways for live players to keep them in check. NCSoft has always said for players to settle disputes between other players on their own... We were able to do that. The thing is, RGIs do not care about XP, many even delevel themselves on town guards. Killing an RGI and making them loose 1% or so isn't going to accomplish anything... they just don't care. RGIs only care about 1 thing... money. The chance for them to drop gear upon death was the only thing that gave real players the upper hand.

Yes, but I imagine they will be spending money on scrolls for the sickness. On top of that, if you stop them then you essentially stop their collecting. No collecting, no money.
Also, if they don't adress the sickness then they will be less and less able to do their job.
I'm a firm believer in not restricting change due to bots. I'm sure there are other and better ways to stop them. Look at the recent bannings for instance.
Whats stopping the bots from simply deleveling on one another? And the potions to remove the debuffs are far too inexpencive not to mention you only get a debuff as often as you would have dropped something. NC has most certinly given bots a easier time.

The second you leave they rez and restart... Stopping them for a half hour at max is nothing when they are going 24/7.
Making RGIs spend a few adena to remove a debuff on their chars isnt going to mean anything either as compared to if they dropped their armor/jewlery/loot... Making them drop their entire day's worth of sealstones or an armor piece worth 10m+ DOES hurt them.
I personally didn't see any RGIs dissapear in the recent bannings. It was all normal players that had gotten away with it for so long they figured they(or their buffbots) were invincible...they weren't.
However, I'm still against making changes or designing content just because there are bots.
Because quite frankly, couldn't you just remove the player run economy? Wouldn't that stop bots? Make all weapons for sale at much more reasonable prices. More people can affor what they want and less (but not totally less) people need to buy.
However, it would be a horrible idea as the economy is a main attraction for many people.
I'm afraid NC will have to attack it another way.
Meanwhile, I like the idea of not having to worry too much (unless I'm red) about dropping my expensive equipment.

I'm not saying I want a complete removal of bots or any changes just because there are RGIs. I want a way for real players to do their own form of justice. As of yesterday, we had a way to dish it out. We had a way to actually make them hurt. It was also a very profitable way to make money. I doubt it will be as easy anymore to make them give up a hunting spot. It is just not practical to PK them, and RGIs, for the most part, don't flag back.
I don't see any possible good coming from this that can outweigh the negaive effects. Death to mobs when you dont have someone you trust nearby is extreamly rare and, if it is going to happen anyway, you can just use a BSOE if you dont wanna risk dropping.
BSOEs have already nerfed Fake Death to the point where it is almost unusable on live players anyway... The only people this patch offers a real advantage to is RGIs

You can't use a BSOE if you die because you die of a disconnect or crash, which are the ONLY times I've died to mobs for the past six months. One of those times, too, the server crashed but not until after I died; it was down when I tried to login but I logged in dead. If I dropped anything it was destroyed by the server reboot. Luckily I didn't drop any important gear.
A single lag spike or power failure or whatnot could wipe out literally months of work. If I was guaranteed that I always COULD BSOE before death, I wouldn't mind the drop risk. Dropping gear because I screw up is one matter. Dropping gear because some router between me and NCSoft screws up is another matter.
What is the penalty? Has anyone got it yet? They said that it stacks, so is there a possibility of getting them killed enough times that they would be completely ineffective until their "owner" gets back to his computer and sees what has happened? If we get it stacked up enough on them that they can't kill the mobs they are attacking, then they will just keep dying, especially if no one checks on them. Just a thought about that.
I like not dropping items now. I had a run of luck a couple weeks ago where I dropped at least one item 6 out of 7 deaths (yes, I do die a lot, but more SP for me). It's nice to know I won't have to worry about that any more.
I don't want to die regardless of whether I lose anything or not.
Losing two hours of grinding is penalty enough, losing an item you spend two or three months working every day to try to get... that's beyond penalty.
I don't mind the idea of drops on death -- e.g. something like "drop half the adena you're carrying". Dropping a helmet or weapon, on the other hand, can be game ending.
