WL have of options for tatts. My personal favorite is the +DEX setup. Get +5 DEX, Tallum Heavy and Halbred with Haste. If you tank go -STR and if you do bigger parties go -CON. The experience I have with people using this setup have been really good, but as I said you have alot of options as a WL and I wont say this is the "right" way to go.
well..i have an se (vr4) and i'm going to be lvl 40 here...i can't think of Agrade yet...so i think i might go -str, +dex...OPA with critstun? that sound ok? and probly use plated leather set for the +4 str, that way i won't lose my str, and i have se for heals anyway...i sould be good
i also have a BD that i will have in party once i get up around Agrade
At level 40 I just don't see any real need for tats. I am Destroyer and from level 40 to 52 it was easy to pull 8-16 white mobs in the cats (limited only by spawn times and room availability). I used FPA (not OE but fully enchanted) and OPA +5 (no SA). I had SE buffs (VR3). I used the Accuracy toggle skill most of the time and I almost never missed. For kicks I would also use Rage to blow out the mobs super fast, but again this was not necessary, just kept things spiced up. The one thing I noticed is that Pdef makes a HUGE difference pulling 16 mobs. I would highly advise against using PL and use FPA instead. Even when I didn't use Rage the mobs get killed so fast I still have to sit around and wait for the room to respawn. This occurred even when I had sole access to 3 connected rooms.
By the way, it may sound odd to not use an SA on the pole, but the levels came so fast I didn't want to spend extra on it since I knew I would switch to Lance at 52 (more Patk and can carry way more BSS than CSS). If you do put SA on OPA use Crit Stun - with SE buffs you'll have at least 1 mob stunned the whole pull and that makes a noticeable difference in HP returned with VR. You'll get > 1 level per hour up to 50 if you can get a room and pull 8 to 16 mobs each pull with one pull every 2 minutes. It slows down to maybe 60% / hour at level 50 but that is sustainable to 55, maybe longer. Since I have to wait a bit for respawns what I do is start seeding when there are 2 or 3 mobs left and switch to 2H sword.
At level 52, with the armor options so broad, I'm still undecided on whether to use tats or not and for the moment I'm using BW heavy, no tats. At this point WL build and Destroyer build are probably different so I don't know what to advise to you.
That's my 2 adena. I love playing Destroyer and the one class that might be more fun poling is WL - I'm envious of Provoke and your AoE Stun ;)
i went +4str -4con on my wl. i haven't regretted my choice one bit, and it's great to not only be able to hit multiple mobs but deal some pretty substantial damage as well. :)
My intention had been to get +4 STR and +4 DEX. But when I completed my subclass it was the phase of 7signs when you collect seal stones and I refused to buy the dyes in town (waste of adena). By the end of the week I had amassed enough AA for the tattoos but already hit 52. Now I'm thinking I'd rather use the AA to make some adena (buy EAC and EWC scrolls from the Trader and sell them) since I'll need a lot of adena by the time I hit 61 for A gear. Once I get my A gear then I'll worry about tattoos. So unless I hit a roadblock leveling I'll keep going with no tats.
