N00b questions :|... SP... weapons... skills?

Player Questions Started Last reply 16 posts
Hey I just started playing a DE, and used my SP to buy all the skills, however on reaching lvl 10... theres loads more skills... aaannd a lot more expensive ^_^...

I dont know how this game works so well and havnt managed to find a guide concerning thing... Should a character decide on say.... Using swords only, so only getting the sword and attack power skills leveled up leaving the unused skills such as Bow and Dagger? or will the SP rate increase a lot and I'll be able to buy all the skills?

2. (lol) .... Ive got the n00b benifits however if i restart and be more specific in skill / weapon choice... If i delete the old character will I get the n00b benifits on the new one? (old chara lvl 10)

and finally hehe.. does anyone know any good guides of class explinations... im still not sure what area to go into.. rogue like.. warrior like.. pvp like hehe

Thanks for reading, and any helpful posts would be greatly appreciated!! <3
if you look in the library section here you'll find fairly concise information on the different classes available in the game. also it will allow you to view the different skills that you'll get at various levels, along with their sp costs.

as the levels of the mobs increase so does the amount of sp youll receive from them (as well as experience).

all characters <level25 receive the noob benefits as of 24-Oct.

welcome to lineage, and best of luck to you!
thankyou tigerlady you rock ^_^
Remember, you won't need all your skills, especially if you know "what you want to be when you grow up".

Check that Library link and look at the classes.

If you are going for Archer or Dagger then you aren't going to need the Warrior skills. Etc.

Welcome to the game.
Also, if you're short on sp at lower levels, it won't really matter in the long run, those "expensive" skills that cost a few k sp now will be costing millions by the end of the game. In other words, feel free to play around with the skills, because it won't negatively impact you later.

Thanks for reminding me
Don't waste the sp on dagger skills at low level. Normal sword skills are better imo.
lol, I would say the opposite. ;)

I say don't waste sp on the early sword skills but maybe that is because I have been leveling a newb dagger that has never held a sword. If you know what weapon you are going to use as you level you can avoid skills for weapons that you won't use.
You won't save much sp by not getting lowbie skills though and at level 45 you may just get them all to stop scrolling by them when training new skills.
Unless you die a lot, you will have trouble with SP in the beginning, so actually I wouldnt reccomend getting every skill. Unless you really dont know if you want to go with dagger or sword. Better to be short on sp than choosing the wrong class :)

rofl. you smokin' some good stuff? if so, pass me some too

to the OP, unless you play a Dwarf, even with a Dwarf, it's Up to a certain point, but you'll never have enough SP points to buy all your skills as soon as upgrades become available.

There are 2 ways to remedy that:

1) Buy super expencive SP scrolls at very inflated prices from people

or

2) PvP/Die a lot as you go along.

i think hes new.
Just look in library and look up the skill of your second class change... or as least first and use those... some will carry over to second class change... Passive skills: you would want to take pretty much all of them... for Active skills: look for the one that you are going to use in your second class change = level 40 and up

i think hes new.

In that case, my appologies.
I always check people's signatures, for some reason tonight I just didn't check his.
First i'd just like to say im suprised at the response, ive been looking for a new game with my friend to get into for a while and this community is so much nicer than other games... thankyou all!

I would like some advice however about classes later on, I know you can read all the library stuff (like i have... a few times over lol) but only people with experience can say... at level 50... the X class PWNZ this other class in PvP because this skill is far better than this one... but n00bs to the game (like me) dont know this hehe.. Soooo my question is... as a melee Dark Elf... taken that Shillien Knight is likely to be strong PVE tank and less good in PVP unless the defence is so good and attack is enough to kill?........ What are the Blade dancers, Abyss Walker and Phantom Rangers job later on? Which ones are more suited to PvP? what are their roles (DPS / Buffer ect) in PVE and PVP?

Right now Im finding using a bow is pretty cool but like in a lot of games something is great at the start but sucks later on lol... so... an advanced Thankyeee!! to those who share their experience of more end game classes! :)

Yeah, it's surprising given that this game can be so brutal!

Sure. Just ask away. Don't forget to use the search feature first as there is a lot of info already out there.

I would also like to present a count argument to the "die a lot and you will be better off with skill points".

I have spent most of this game trying "not to die" and I have never had any problems with skill points. I can usually upgrade all my major attack skills when I hit a new level with skill upgrades.

So I really don't know why people are having issues with skill points. Or is this just another mage thing?

(keep in mind that I used to be a clan leader and levelled a clan to lvl 3 so all those skill points were gone)
