Vampiric claw and Dark Vortex are for some reason bugged. Upon Magic critical hit the damage is being multiplied by 1 instead of 4. In other words. It does the same damage as base damage.
Maybe more "Drain" type skills have been bugged. A person from Teon first had posted about this on another forum board and I tested it out aswell and got the same problem.

Done that. If they plan to remove MAgic crits I am fine with that. But then they should remove it for all magic skills. Or atleast make a patch note for it... Typical NCsoft again.
Since it seems to be just drains and since drains have an extra component of math tacked on at the end of their damage formula (namely the health returned), it's possible to infer two outcomes:
1. The drain % is based off of final damage, same as the magic crit modifier. In possibly messing with one, doesn't seem unlikely someone might break the other.
2. NC decided that the % drains coupled with occasional 4x damage was imbalanced.
They spent a fair bit of time nerfing drains in C5, one more wouldn't surprise me.
Well if it was a nerf then they would have given patch note of it. I mean Warcryers and OVerlords have only 1 type of magic attack to nuke which is Drain life type. So kind of unfair if I can still do 4x dmg with my hurricane or deathspike or shadow flare and they cannot.
The Orc classes you list are also defined as Healers, so I'm not sure it's fair or unfair for them to lack a magic crit.
I presume it's a bug too, but for different reasons. The fact it still says Magic Crit. If you were going to change their nature, why leave that message?
Agree on that. And if they really nerfed it. Why don't they simply remove it for all the other skills. Or not planning to I guess. Well I'll see for the reply of Support. ( if it ever comes )
Yeah, I like how the amount given back is based off of final damage. The DE Drain is very useful while soloing and I love getting a Magic Critical Hit with it. Heals just about all of my HP back.
ya I am wondering if a Crit on a Drain atk . now means you get a larger % of the health drained returned. so perhaps the crit feature is linked more to the regen then to the actual damage ... this actually would still make a drain crit usefull if used to save your life or regen so you can btm more
