"Just fine" perhaps, but do you think you'd do better if you had used/seen said products? Not sure what you support but I do think GMs could/would benefit from a lil practical experiance.
No, whether the experience comes from using the product or having the issue a prior time and learning from it, it's the same thing. ie: Oh your x product is doing y? I had someone with that the other day and we needed to do z to fix it.
Seriously things on a big scale like computer systems, no one could possibly have/used/tested 50 billion printers, scanners, modems, routers, etc now can they? or with L2, there's an insane amount of quests out there, no one could expect a GM to have actually done every single one. and so on and so forth.
actually the last time this happened to me i petitioned and then logged off. when i returned the GM had already answered with an auto responding asking me to initialize the in game UI and re petition if that doesn't work.
if memory serves, sometimes if you logged off they will reply with an answer, but if the UI is not initialized, the respond might be way off the screen and you might not see it.
