blazing swamp is bs

so whats the deal with bs, isnt it about time they changed the xp from C2 rates to at least C3?

cant say the place is exactly scary but the mobs go all the way to 75+ yet give less xp than lvl 60+ mobs in the new areas
Not as many specials? :o I do believe the exp is mathematically calculated (although god knows how).
Yeah I believe it's based on a base experience, and then they add in a modifier for each skill/resistance/weakness it has (more skills/resistance = more XP, more weakness = less).

I do agree the C4/C5 areas are some of the best for XP. The mobs have a lot more skills.
Social behaviour of mobs also has some impact on exp given - i.e. group mobs and mobs that transform/spawn allies give considerably better exp/hp than others. =) I need to re-vamp my EXP guide, I guess.
well for starters i heard bs doesnt have a field xp bonus
mobs in bs dont really have much in the way of resistances (1 dark resist)
and theirs skills arent really that scary (ud does suck though) its just abit disturbing that one of only like 3 solo areas above 75 has a mob which gives 8k xp
looking at certain sites and comparing b.s. mobs to new mobs, most exp/sp is very very close. Now there are some that have same lvl, same hp, but have 3k-4k more exp then b.s. mobs, and they have a couple more listed skills.

It does seem like b.s. might not have the field xp bonus just from a quick glance at mobs from other areas.
Well, I'm hunting there now.

For 2 shots I'm getting 8,000+ to 12,000+

And with the herbs I can go extremely fast. I'm not sure what the new areas offer for the same effort.

that explained why ol-malhum gave more exp.
Anyone level at the pit of IT? Those Golems give a huge amount of exp for their level. I believe they give more than mobs 4 or 5 levels higher. But they're pretty much resistant to almost all forms of attack.

What's interesting is that NCsoft removed the magic resistance of some of the monsters in Disciples, yet the exp stayed the same.
base xp = hp of the mob.
well i know i can 3 hit a mob in blazing swamp for 8k xp or i can 1 hit a mob in vos for 9.6k
doesnt seem to add up to me
The harder the mob, aka the more skills and passives, the more exp they give. That's why I <3 rune.

I was just going to say that.

Vos mobs are more dangerous.
you might also want to petition that you get too much exp.

Vos mobs are more dangerous.

VoS mobs are bugged... I get nuked for 400 damage, at sps speed, using full majestic jewel set from a level 62 mob...

Vos mobs are more dangerous.

Stun mobs are dangerous, but VoS mobs debuff, do that pain in the *** fire DoT, cancel, multiply and use UE, and the panther stuns infrequently. All of this makes melee unreasonably hard. But nuking is no more dangerous than almost anywhere else. When you two shot everything before it gets a nuke off, they aren't dangerous.

I really wouldn't even have a problem with all that if they gave melee some decent solo options. I think they designed swamp of screams for melee. But the **** place is harder than VoS and FoD combined. If you arent able to hate or root yourself or dont have someone that can do either of these things, you cant even go. Mobs bleed, slow, use SS, stun, and run to get zergs almost every time.

And what I absolutely love is instant potions don't drop there. Brilliant.

yeah on the other hand ive nearly been killed by a ud'ed orc at bs multiple times
i would also like to add anyone makeing the "xp is based on hp and skills" argument should go to varka or ketra
mobs there have devistateing attacks and take forever to kill yet give hardly any xp
Nameless1: If you end up finding a better spot, pm me. I get better exp on the blue mobs in fotd then I do at blazing, im thinking of just going back to fotd and working on the blues.

Its bs for necros at 74, they have no where to level reasonably. =/

U said it : 74.

I take it very few classes can level reasonably at 74...
Insane XP requirements makes for Insane Xping. Just seems fair.

no he's fairly right
necro seem to have a harder time lvling at 70+ than most other classes
i got a few places but depending on how you look at it it may be a step down from fod

for starters i wouldnt bother with bs since the place sucks so bad
try shrine of the loyal cdling (might want a bd or prophet) also there is silent valley which again needs a bd or prophet

apart from that there is a tiny spot in mid-high fod that gives 10-12k xp but it has a few dark resist mixed in
i guess cata's might be ok but tbh ive never seen a multi hp mob that was worth killing
hot springs is my lover, I am lvl 71 mobs are 71-73 and 20k xp per kill and you can solo even as a melee w/ buffs...well my bd can anway.

Any other mystic dd class other then necromancer can easily level on the dark resist vampires in fotd to 75+++. When I say easy, I mean easy. Any support/healer or melee DD can party in IT or a cata and easily level to 75+. Meanwhile, im leveling off blue mobs in a duo for 3-6k a kill (at night its 3-4k :) ). Believe it or not, its faster then blazing swamp.

blazing swamp is bs

Well of course it is, Blazing Swamp.

Thank you for stating the obvious. :D

I believe the pun was intended.
Bleh, I liked BS. CDling mobs there 2 shotting is easy. Non-stop xp and I find the xp per hour was just fine.67-76 in BS alone then I mixed it up 76-77 BS and Shrine of Loyal. All cdling with SE and PP buffs.
You're an SS though. It's diffrent for necros... they have no other options in regards to nuking. They only have the Dark element to work with. I think that's the OP's main concern in regards to hunting grounds.

- in regards to the topic
Oh yes because necros have it so bad!

Is it me or has nameless1 started a number of stupid/whiney threads recently?
I wouldn't say stupid/ whiney.

Jaded/ condescending I would agree with.

Yeah, but if you noticed I said I used CDL. Which is what necro has as well. Necro and SH both get Deathspike and CDL. I don't use hurricane anymore unless its a dark resist mob.
I know that. I play both classes myself. My point is that your perspective is a bit scewed.

i've played a WS to nearly unheard of lvls so excuse me if i subbed necro because i wanted a class that may lvl fast
necro while being one of the fastest lvling classes in game does have it pretty bad at 70+ still better than all melee classes but a hell of alot worse than any other mage or archer

but this post isnt even about the necro. blazing swamp is gimp for all classes
this post is more a case of complaining about the high xp requirements of high lvls mixed with the xp walls mixed with the lack of hunting grounds mixed with the fact that high lvl areas give less xp than lower lvl areas

the only reason i stepped foot into blazing swamp on the crafter was to farm those stupid moonstone shards (need 700 of them btw), the place quite literally gives 50% less xp than 3 other spots i could lvl at with no decrease in risk and no increase in adena or items
does that not seem wrong to you?
Hence the smiley :p

But yeah, I agree with you, BS and several other old areas could use a little love.

Why would you do that to yourself when you could get over twice the amount of exp per hour leveling on vampires in fotd?

Maybe because the vamps are dark resist?
Ever consider using hurricane? :p

Ever consider using hurricane? :p

Give me a necro who can cast it and I will show you a necro who will consider using it.
Probably the kind of necros that hangs with those summoners that don't use their servitors in 1v1 PvP to keep it fair. :p
He was replying to my reply to LickNMeLollypop (Storm Screamer 77) leveling in bs when he could get many times that exp in fotd.
I know. I'm just trying to get this back on topic. It's about Necros, dark resist mobs, and BS. Not CDLing SSs.
I noticed Blazing Swamp's xp was pretty lacking, when I was getting 8-9k xp per mob there solo, I then went to Hot springs with a friend to duo, and we where getting 13-15k per mob, so I decided to solo a mob and I got 20k xp on a mob that takes the same amount of time to kill as the blazing swamp mobs. So I lvld in Hot springs. I also noticed that in BS I was getting up to 1k adena per mob, while in Hot Springs I was getting 1500-6k adena per mob.

It seems the new areas are better to lvl in than the "old standard"

Ever consider using hurricane? :p

I actually don't think that the Vampires in FOTD give more xp for the mana. However, I was just answering the question the question since Necros would not be able to use Hurricaine.

in BS, with emp 1 (all I have immediate access to ) I get 10,000 plus per two shots on the footmen and 12,000 plus per two shots on the archers. The wyverns are sort of an annoying wild card as they only give about 8,000 but they aggro so you pretty much have to deal with them.

oh, the bats give 12,000 to 13,000

Plus, it's quiet for the most part. FOTD is always full. I used to level there but then it started becoming full. I like the idea of logging in, getting my zen on and loggin off. Not spending time looking for hunting spots. But that's just me.
I actually find Varka silenos the best duo/trio spot,

Then again im kinda cheating^^ w/ buffs
all mobs that are used for quests give crap xp...look at the Selinos...in a full group we were getting 3kxp...and at lvl 74-77 that sucks. in a group of 4 at BS we were getting 3k xp...that sucks.

u don't take a full group to silenos lol.

I trio the generals for near 13K a kill and they die so fast.

at lvl 74 I tas getting aprox 7% an hour there.

Oh my.

LFG!

no. its about areas like bs haveing the same risk but giving significantly less xp

3 hit orc shamans for 8k xp? 2 hit bone slayer for 12k xp
hmm kinda a tricky question
