I just started yesterday and am a Human Fighter doing the Quests in Talking Island Village. It looks like for levels 1-19 or so (before I can take my first class quest) I'll be hanging around here working on these quests. Is there a natural progression of where I should go after I finish these quests and level up a bit?
I'm in it for the experience of the game, not to grind. I'm happy doing quests and all that good stuff so I wasn't sure if I leave this Village and explore the island or if I need to go to the main land or what.
Well, theres a few quests there that are good ones, and they have some good storys to them. I suggest using this site, under "The Library" and find all the quests that you can start on TI. That section will tell you the NPC's that start each one.
When you hit 19, you'll be forced to move to mainland to do your first class change quest, so dont go to far away because you will have to come back.
Do all the quests you can do, and repeat those that have you hunting green and white named mobs.
I know it sounds silly, but the last thing you want to do is level too fast. Due to this game be very equipment dependant, you'll want to grind for adena over levels.
and when you leave the island, run to Elven Forest and do the "Collect Spores' quest. It is repeatable and reward is not bad for starter. If you are tired of Elven Forest, head to Dark Elf land and do the 'Scent Of Death' quest (i think thsi quest is for everyone, whiel most quests there are only for DE.. but i can't quite remember). When you finally decided to leave there too, make sure you pick up the 'Dwarven Kinship' quest as it ask you to go to Gludio and Gludin.
At level 20, if you have some Traveler Token left, go to Orc land and take the 'Walk of Fate' - rewards are adena and a Enchant Armor D scroll.
And don't be put off by the fact that you won't see many other players around, it is normal. As soon as you leave the island and are 20+ you'll find everyone and you're game experience will change again :)
Yeah, seriously. The OP is probably not aware that Talking Island used to draw gangs of higher lvl players who lived to pk them on either side of the town.
Human lowbies used to come to the boards and beg for other high level players to just hang out for a bit so they could level.

That makes me mad .... We have them Human'z coming to our land, and they are getting quest rewards like that? Tell me what Orc is rewarding you with such things!
If you don't want to grind, L2 is probably not for you - even the quests are mostly grind-grind-grind.
I don't know how anyone who doesn't enjoy grind could enjoy the game without serious amounts of cheating, and even that cheating isn't really worthwhile - unless you enjoy the grind. :p

So i can stain my fists with their blood.
Come on Splatty, there is an old saying.
Make love not war! All races should get along like a big happy family! :)
He used to tell young elves to go and be fertile, that makes me worry... especially since I believe he's also the one who asks if you're not going to do anything funny with the menacles for the sin eater quest.
open up ur map (altM) and on the top right theres a button that slides a menu out. search the quest tab for ur lvl range. dont use any guides or walkthroughs right from beginning or you will miss out on things u should have been picking up on while u lvl.
Thanks all for your help! I would appreciate that link btw.
Yeah I know grinding is in all MMORPGs, I just meant that I'm not playing to hit the highest levels and be ubah! I just wanted to play casually and hit as many quests as I phyically can.
Does this game have a Trivial Loot Code or can you level past any quests so you can't do them later?
Make a new toon, dark elf and swim up towards Rune territory. Try to take a few heal pots with you and hop from island to island to prevent your self from drowning. Once in Runetown walk to either Valley of the Saints (VoS) or Forrest of the Dead (FotD). Avoid all mobs you see because they will kill you instant. Once in VoS or FotD you will find plenty adena's around lazy nukers don't grap. Continue this for a few days and you will have plenty adena to buy your self full top NG set and have plenty adena's spare for some decent grinding.
BTW its funny to see a lvl 60+ nuker go red on a level 1 toon too while you steel his drops :)
Good luck in the Game hope you'll enjoy it as much as the most of us do.
I've done class change quest guides for HE, SE, SH, human cleric, cardinal, subclass. now do I have to answer that? XD
So if I gave you control over my character could you just finish off his subclass and 3rd class changes. I find them terribly tedious
note: I am of course joking as I am fully aware that letting anyone else have access to one's account is a strict violation of the EULA. However, I am not joking in that I do find the quests tedious.
