No need to apologise

This post isn't a flame it is a praise for those of you who use English when it isn't your native language.

It's starting to drive me nuts, the amount of times people who use this forum feel they need to apologise for possible mistakes in their English because it isn't their main language.

You should not have to apologise for that.

The fact that you can speak and write multiple languages and make yourselves understood is impressive enough. Many people (myself being 1 of them) only speak the one.

Those of you who don't have English as your main language but communicate adequately on these forums please don't apologise for non perfect sentances and words.

What you write is understood and that is enough :)
It's usually the native English speakers that have the worst grammar and spelling.

When people pick apart your grammar, it's because they can't debate the content.
Or because they can't understand what you're saying.

I know it's difficult for native speakers to comprehend this, but the people who write bad English naturally know that bad English is also difficult to read.

I for one can barely make out some of the things nolerahl (sp?) writes, and I'm usually fairly confident in my English.

No one can...
lol,

Please note that I tend to allow for exceptions along with any generalizations I may utter.
:/ Nobody else seems to be having trouble.

Either way, the apology is directed at those people who have trouble reading it: It's only being polite. It's not an 'omg I am an inferior creature my English isn't good' kind of thing, more like 'I'm sorry in advance if you have trouble reading this'. :p

Are y ou talking about DarkMotion? I'm confused  :p
I personally prefer when a person opens up a post with, "I'm not native english, so for anyone who would pick on my grammar, you cann just piss off."
No. :p DM doesn't make sense to anyone! The regulars I have most problems understanding due to language barrier are, in order, nolerahl (too confuzzling), Elro (probably more cultural), and jkoster (too fancy!).

IRL I also don't get a word that Llothlian says. I'm not sure if that's good or bad for our relationship.
I'm hard to understand!?! That's unpossible!!!
One time, someone told me my english was "funny".

I was kinda surprised because until then I always thought that I was kinda good at it.
I really hope that wasn't me on a sleepy night, Es! :I
No no, it was Geldriia when I was in AbyssalGuard a couple months ago.
Lend me wepon to see patk, caux is me ID, rest assured freind.
Ab sofort sollte einfach jeder in seiner Heimatsprache sprechen ;)

I apologize, if my "english" is hard to understand. You might notice, that it was not enlgish at all :)

Apologetic Kitten
On the opposite side of the spectrum, I find it interesting how many posters accuse me of being pompous/arrogant/condescending or think I've got a dictionary on my lap in an attempt to appear smarter than they are.

I suppose you need to strike a balance, although this board community seems less likely to get angry toward wide vernacular than other forum communities. *cough*blah*cough*
You asked for it Quay :) Mondrator :)
Kill all the mondrators! O.o

If you'd never said English wasn't your first language I doubt I would have had any reason to wonder. Your English has always been fine... Geldriia, on the other hand... :p

No, we don't have and should not have to apologise for our miserable English. However, it's only polite to do so - and to strife to learn from our mistakes and do it better the next time.

I don't usually say "sorry" for my english....but when try to write a serious post that is actually several paragraphs long or took me more that 3 mins to write, then I usually put a "Not native english" warning at the end of the post.

The reason for doing so is that after putting some serious effort there is always a jack **s that might come up with an "...hahaha!!!!11!!!1....learn how to write first noob" and then the post just gets hijacked turning your post into a worthless effort.

Btw...sorry about my english
I don't mind it if English isn't your first language. However, it ticks me off when people don't take the time to express their ideas or they're completely not thought through.
Greetings,

No. :p DM doesn't make sense to anyone!

Not true ! I make perfect sense to myself...
