I also think that instead of a whole new Lin3 game, that the graphics engine for Lin2 be updated and there be more areas.
A commitment to stay with Lin3 and develop it as an on going concern like Second Life, Eve, etc instead of knowing that one day there will be a Lin4 so this will die too, just like Lin1 is dying a bit every day now...
These are extremely good suggestions.
Quite frankly, why do we need a L3 other than updated graphics.
Or more specifically, unless they intend to seriously change gameplay then why make another.
Sure, the graphics of L1 over L2 was a quantum leap. But the L2 Graphics can still wear for a bit. Updating the graphics engine would help later on.
But if L3 is just L2 but with better graphics then what a pain in the neck. many will leave L2 for L3 (possibly myself as I'm a graphics [censored]. Shame really) and many will not want to leave as they have invested a lot of time on their L2 characters.
What I would like to see in L3 is better attention to detail. Perhaps a bit more consistency between races. All the races seem as if they were designed by different people. I know that they designed each race to reflect regional tastes but I just don't think it works.
Better warehouse managment. Actually implementing better clan management at the start.
Perhaps more to do? Is it just going to be one more grindfest? Granted, I find it relaxing but can it really sustain a game for years?
Better quests. Either that or a more robust pvp system where you get xp for pvp.
Perhaps alternate rules servers for different segements of the population, hardcore and "not so hardcore".
Better options for armor and weapons. Not just "more" but better ways to personalize it. Perhaps being able to add what resistances, damage, attributes to each grade.
This way you can see 6 people wearing karmian but not know how each player is set up.
A better way to manage the player population. Quite frankly, it just seems a waste to have all of these great areas (gludin, gludio, wastes, etc) and have them be ghost towns.
What I love about the developers who develope Eve is that they are just making it better all the time (whether you like the game or not is another thing). They are dedicated to expanding the Eve Universe and the playability.
Quite frankly, I want a different development team for L3. I know this seems harsh but I think that the players of online games are going to be demanding more of these games. Especially with more and more mmo's coming to market. It takes a lot of resources to create one. It must be a great experience otherwise players are just going to hop to something else.
I don't envy the L2 world once L3 hits.
