Okay. Tell us exactly what had happened as you tried to get into the game. Did the update server give you the message, "All the files have been updated"? Or did it even start to update? What error message did you get? Do you have a firewall? Are you trying to run other programs in the background?

It could be the router, but I have no experience with them, so I can't give you help on those.
The firewall is a more likely problem. It looks like it won't let your computer access the update server. On my firewall, I have to open a screen called 'Internet Permissions' or something close to that. It lists all the programs on your computer and lets you manually click 'Grant Full Access.'
You need to find your firewall's 'permissions' page, and manually grant access to all the programs accociated with Lineage. There are several, most with 'lin' or 'gameguard' in their name.
The first step is to get the Updater to run. I agree that contacting support is a good idea too. Get as many folks helping as possible. I hope my humble suggestions help.
I have a router and none of the PCs on my network have a problem. You don't need to open any ports on the router or anything; L2 uses only outbound connections, it doesn't need to listen for inbound connections, so a NAT router shouldn't affect anything.
A firewall, though, may well block the outgoing connection, so I'd focus there first.
