I ported my alt from the Dark Elven village to the Immortal
Plateau Tuesday evening but did not get the 50% discount.
It was 9:30 p.m. Tucson time, so that would be 10:30 CDT.
Did I do something wrong or is it not working?
If you die and receive the combat penalty, how exactly is
that shown in the stats window? Last Friday I was pk'd twice
and before the update I would not drop anything in these
situations, except 1 glittering medal once. So I probably was
not penalized, but wanted to know how to tell if you are.
And you dont get the penalty every time you die. There's a chance you get it. I've died maybe 4-5 times to mobs since the penalty was introduced, and I haven't gotten it yet.

My poor alt, she's only lvl16 and honest, and that means broke!
But squashu gives her all his old gear so she's decked out pretty
well, even with the Halloween mask and horns.
So upon death now, if pk'd by a player there should be no
penalty if I don't fight back, while death by a mob results in
a chance of getting the debuff penalty.
There should be no penalty if you are pk'd or during pvp. You couldn't drop items before in those situations (unless you were chaotic), so you shouldn't get the penalty now.
you can indeed get the death penalty pvp, at least if you are chaotic. had a group of... well... you-know-whats in Pavel Ruins who started KSing me, so I PK'ed them, repeatedly. then I had their A grade controller drop a train on me.... so I ened up in my CH with 11 Pk'd and 5k karma. had to die 6 times to get rid of most of the karma. in the process, I dropped 5 pieces of my inventory (1 jewelry, the rest junk) and got 1 death penalty, just fyi.
now, to figure out exactly how a warlock manages to do the sineater quest....
