I will be visiting the NCsoft office in Seoul from November 3 to November 10. I'll be on the official message board as often as I can, but HGMspam, Rust, and Ornery will still be here to keep an eye on things. I plan on posting news and pictures from Korea, so keep an eye out for those! :)
Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity for you to do a developer interview based on what you know of our community as well as what you know we might be interested in. Of course it would have to be information that the developers could give out.
Or even, an assessment on the differences and similarities of the game communities.
Leaf in on a jed plane!
Have a swell time. This visit doesn't happen to coincide with the press conferences they hold before expansions, is it? :D Either way, it sounds neat.
Kimchee is quite nice and healthy, though a mild variant should be tried for the first timers I guess. :p
And there actually IS a Kimchee museum in Seoul, alas it was closed at the time I stumbled over it.
Lots of yummy food to be had in Korea, alas the ratio of people capable (or willing) to speak English is even worse than here in Japan.
thats one hell of a trip to be taking, should be fun!
I like what one of the othr guys said, maybe do a developer interview. You could always take a few questions from the L2 community on their reactions from the C5.5 update.
If u get a chance to see anything on Interlude then maybe u could give us a little clue or something for people to speculate about :P It's allways fun to throw idea's arround about what a little bit of information could mean :)
And if you could use that as an opportunity to bang a dev's head or two... I wouldn't mind ;-)
And I know I risk a "doh" and you porbably won't have a lot of spare time but ... as someone else mentioned it, if you could look into one, all, or several of the following matters : devs interview... interest in NA community feedback ... Community involvement in game design ... balance ... the dwarven rant thread ... L3 hints ... and ... server transfers ? (I said it, you can doh)

When you get there....
Tell them the Orcs and Dwarfs want more appearances in the offical CG videos. That is all.... :D
Hopefully in time for your visit:
"SEOUL (Reuters) - Hot pants and miniskirts will soon be legal in South Korea.
The country is in the final stages of revising an indecency law that prohibits people from wearing revealing outfits and was once enforced by ruler-wielding police during authoritarian governments in the 1970s, officials said.
"The law for excessive exposure does not match our current society," said Kim Jae-kwang, an official with the Korea Legislation Research Institute.
Under authoritarian rule, police could arrest or fine women for their fashion choices. They also took scissors to men whose hair they felt was too long and tossed people in jail for unauthorized dancing.
The rules stayed on the books as South Korea moved to an open democracy in the late 1980s, but were no longer enforced.
Now miniskirts are about as common as traffic jams in the capital of Seoul and police have long given up on measuring the distance from knees to hemlines."
Hi again everyone! I just woke up and I'm getting ready for some meetings at the NCsoft office here in Seoul. These last couple days have been spent traveling and sightseeing. I do have some photos (SS :p) but I haven't uploaded them yet. I'll try to post a few soon!

Mistryl dont drink Oscar beer or Hite. While Oscar is nasty enough Hite is awesome. At first it seems like you are drinking sparkling beer, but then the addiction sets in. I think they put cocaine in it or something, because before long you only want Hite. Then you go home and cant get it and the withdrawal symptons set in. Beware of the Hite!
Tell them to make their game more like wow, or they'll risk loosing more market share. Hardcorers may not like that, but it's true anywho. LineageII is the superior mmo. Make L2's trip to the top faster and it will gain some of that 52.9% of the mmo market that wow has. (%stats - june06,mmogchart.com)
I'm back in Austin now! I plan on writing a little "article" for the web site with some pictures and info about the Seoul office. I'll try to get that done next week. (And you're right, Hite is great!)
