hi hi~ I recently got my hands on a copy of Lineage II off my sister, so I decided to give it a try since I'm taking a break from other MMORPGs at the moment. I have a question I'd like to ask though.
I've looked about on this website, read over the stuff under the Library section about skills and what not for different classes, etc. What's not mentioned is how does one go about acquiring skills in game?
Last game I played, you gain job levels, and you can use them to get certain skills and getting certain skills in a particular order would make other skills available to you. And then, of course, there's the quest only skills and what have you.
I've read about the forum and I know you need SP to buy skills in Lineage II, but where do you buy them? Is it just a case of going to the right NPC and buying them when you've reached the level required to get a skill? Or are there quests involved?

Well its just like you figured , talk to a npc and in exchange for sp he give u the skills. Depending on the skill some time you gonna need a spellbook also for learning the first lvl. And SB upto lvl 35 are purchasable from npcs and post 40 drops from mobs or bought from players.
Ooooh. I see. Glad it's not a complicated process or anything. Just one more question, what is the limit to the number of skills a character can learn? I mean, for example, some games limit you to x number of skills you can learn, or you stop earning skill points or job levels once your character reaches a certain base level. So you've got to be extra careful what skills you get and don't get for whatever class you're playing and so on >_>;

Okay, last question (I swear!). About using SP to buy skills, I was told by the Newbie Guide that you can start buying skills after you reach level 5 and when I got passed that level, the arrow appeared over my head guiding me to the two NPCs that deal with skills. The only problem is, I have more than enough SP to buy the skills, but when I click on Learn Skill, nothing happens.
I bet the answer to my question is something absurdly simple, but I can't figure it out myself. Do I need other requirements before I can learn any skills? Oh yes, and my class is Human Fighter if that makes any differences whatsoever, I just picked the first thing that came to mind to test the game out ^^;

Try initialising your interface (alt+x -> option -> game -> initialise or something like that) if nothing happens ... there should be a pop-up explaining what went wrong in buying the skill.
Go under your Options... Under the game tab and click the button ReInitialize....
When you learn the skill a window should popup that you have to click, sounds like that window maybe off the screen. Clicking that Reinitialize button will reset all your game windows.
SP is technically infinite so given time you can get every skill.
However, in a practical sense, you often level through an entire skill tier and still won't have all the SP needed for all the skills, so you should prioritize, especially at first. Some of this depends on where you hunt (generally, the higher the monster's level, the higher its SP/XP ratio) and how often you die (you lose XP but not SP at death). And some depends on your class.
In any event, it is always a good idea to be practical with skill choices instead of learning everything, at least until you have a feel for how your SP is doing.
