Daggers

I am a level 66 EE with full tallum armor set, song of earth, full buffs (no zerk).

In the last 3 sieges, I have been killed once by something other than a dagger. Every time a dagger has killed me, they have done more than 5k damage, which is more than my CP+HP combined. Why should I play against toons with an I WIN button?
bad luck mate. butcha don't got enough p.def or hp to stand agaisnt daggers. try rooting and running. but you're kinda suppose to die by them anyways.
Healers heal until people notice them. then it's silence and death.

It's more complicated than that.
First the Dagger must run 900 range through your allies archers and nukers. Then the dagger must get behind you. Then the dagger must have luck to make sure his skills land. If he's lucky his Backstab will critical on you and unfortunately you will die.

Now lets look at some other classes.
Destroyer - Frenzy boosts P.Atk to abnormal heights and the class can survive better than anyone else except a tank/hero in UD.
Archer- With the right buffs can crit every other shot for 3-4k damage costing maybe 30mp a kill. Best of all? 900 range.
Necromancer - Anchor, land rate high, can't do anything for 30 seconds unless purified. Usually a 1 hit button in 1v1 and used to take someone out of the fight in mass pvp.
Silence - Lands pretty high since Aegis was nerfed. Instant win against any class that relies on magic.
Bladedancer - Medusa Dance, can take out multiple players from pvp for 30 seconds.

And last but not least, you are a support healer. Supposed to be squishy and can ressurect allies and buff them with great buffs and can PR.
Daggers are designed to kill you. They go after targets with soft outsides. Since i'm a tank, they are easy pickings for me, their skills just bounce off my shield. Now mages, however, get to the creamy filling of my mdef which is inside my hard candy shell of pdef. Mmm...candy.
I'm not so sure about this, but I see many people trying to kite away from a dagger in PvP vids - and a dagger deserves to rip through anything that has its back turned quickly. Although not one-shot quickly, I'll agree.
Some of it is also that you're probably dying to 76+ daggers. Character level makes a large difference in resisting dagger skills; a level 78 with a +1 enchanted dagger skill has, according to game mechanics which state +1 skills have an effective "learn level" of 76, a 10 level advantage over you. That means the dagger has a much higher chance the skill doesn't fail, you're "dark blue" to his dagger skill.

And assuming they're enchanted for power... ouch.

+5 CON should raise your HP/CP to roughly 4k/1.5k (with BtB6 -- if you don't have prophet buffs then be sure to get a SOES with Bodily Blessing for self-BtB5). Still will hurt. A lot. You could try a Health weapon; especially if you've got tallum robes your cast speed may be high enough to not really need the acumen weapon.

Your best defense, though, would be clan and alliance keeping things off of you, letting you stay back behind them and hating/rooting/slowing/paralyzing/stunning/etc anything that gets past them towards you. You can also try to bsps Trance things until they can be rooted and dealt with.

Of course, that is easier said than done. Sieges are nothing if not hectic.

I think this is the heart of it. If you are an EE you should be with a group of your allies. They protecting you and you protecting them.

Well, you know, best laid plans :p
yea dont complain, daggers get ***** by fighting some dd classes head on, i.e. gladiators, tyrants, nukers if they seem the dagger coming, and even archers if the dagger is a noob or archer lands stunshot and crits once hard. They cant even touch tanks.
My problem here is not that daggers can kill me, no, that's to be expected. Heck, EVERY CLASS CAN KILL ME. Well, maybe not bishops. My problem is that I'm getting 1 shotted EVERY TIME. EVERY TIME. That's incredibly frustrating.
Its impossible that you get 1 shoted every time, unless you have - con tatts or without any bless the body and you are going against a level 78 dagger with cov and blessing of the queen, in which case you deserve to be 1 shotted by ANY class.
First, the only way a dagger can 1 shoot your class with the right tatts and buffs is if he backstabs you and CRITS, Im a 78 dagger and know for experience I crit about once every 3-4 hits with backstab, so theres a huge element of luck here.

Second, if a dagger got close to you and is on your back, what does it matter to you if it 1 or 2 shots you? seriously I got 3 specials that I can deliver in a matter of 2 seconds and with mortal strike and a MM dagger WILL land, ergo you die way before you can heal yourself.
This isnt unique to daggers as a gladiator or tyrant would do exactly the same to you if you let them get close.

The problem here is poor planing on your part and your allies, you are the healer, you are going to be the main target to be taken down, a dagger should not be able to get to you unless your allies are already dead, not paying attention or you are poorly positioned in the field.

If you are aware of whats going on you also have several chances to survive if you play it right, trance is very fast casted by an EE and unless the dagger is wearing NM set its very likely it would land.

I wouldn't sell yourself short. Group v. Group healers have a very hard life. 1v1 you'd have a decent shot at taking me (Phantom Summoner). Erase (and trance to prevent resummon) would make it into a melee fight, and as you'd have the superior mana pool (especially after mana burning me) , the extreme mana efficiency of major heal, and much better self-buffs, I think you'd probably win. Of course with potion use it could go on a very, very, very long time.

I know some EEs have gone into battle in BW light armor (still pretty good cast speed) and a BOP and have tried to make their enemies think they were SRs. It can be a pretty effective ruse, especially in the confusion of a siege when it might not register than the "SR" is healing. Same in principle could be done with a dagger to make you look like a PW. Hell you could dress like a TK and watch everyone ignore you, but I think your cast speed penalty would be pretty harsh.
